The bartender was a young girl and told us it wasn't really apple season anymore, so they only had one type of cider on tap. I got the cider and my boyfriend a gin + tonic. Surprisingly, the gin + tonic was really easy to drink and hardly tasted like alcohol, so I swapped my cider with his drink, hah. Nothing to rave about for the drinks, but also nothing to complain about. What pushed me to give RBR that 4th star is the service. Ever watch 'Me Before You'? Well our young bartender reminded me so much of the main girl in that (who also played Khaleesi in GoT) - a totally wholesome, quirky, genuine character. She gave us the low down on her favorite places in the area, and even let us borrow her laptop to do some research so we could figure out what we were doing tomorrow! And when we paid with a CC and were told we couldn't add tip via that after we asked about it, she reassured us we didn't have to tip and that most people don't there. They did have a slight markup for public holiday pricing but considering penalty rates, I'm totally ok with that. The coffee was beautiful, the food options were great. I had a stunning fresh salad plate with heirloom tomatoes, zucchini and kale, which came with a side of fresh bread. So good. Bryher does a trade with local growers to get a lot of their ingredients, which means they can tell you where their produce comes from. It's this kind of local spirit that makes me fall in love with cafes, so you can be sure that I'll head back to Bryher next time I'm up top.

I entered a warm bustling cafe which was already quite full due to large table that had been reserved. Staff however found me a table in the corner and brought over some water straight away. The cafe is connected to a homewares store which is interesting. Apparently this cafe seemed to be the only one open as people kept rolling in with lots of takeaway orders and my order for an extra hot skinny dirty chai became delayed. When it arrived it was lukewarm and but delicious. Though I had ordered a large it didn't have two shots of espresso in it which was disappointing Their menu had lots of interesting options. I got the truffle mushrooms. My dish was delectable. Large fried Portobello mushrooms in some pesto sauce with crispy enoki. Delicious crunchy soft sourdough. Beautiful poached eggs and cherry tomatoes. Beautifully flavoured. Very filling and satisfying. And of course the presentation was equally spectacular Love the vibe. The food and the service.

The food has always been fresh from my experiences. Select fresh produce is also available for purchase. My favourite meal is their bhudda bowls. Large portions leaving you feel content. The Poached egg was cooked just right (the yolk was only slightly set and the majority was runny). Mainly British and antique, they are quite nice, if you like that sort of thing. Plenty of inside seating or have a sit and contemplation of your navel in the pretty courtyard outside. This bakery wins my vote for the best Tassie scallop pie so far.
