It's a large box, tons of space and equipment to accommodate the larger class sizes. Open gym had plenty of slots as well, so if you want to check out a crossfit gym, this is a good contender. The reason I did not stay though was simply that it was not a good fit for the type of gym I was looking for - and that's okay. That has no reflection on the rating I'm giving, it was just more serious than I was looking for. If that's your vibe, you'll probably enjoy this place, I just prefer something a lot more laid back. What I will take a start off for is due to a couple of members who were a bit rude to me for just working out near them. It's a big gym but when you need a rig, you go where's there's space, so that wasn't great. And there's a good amount of plates that are broken and beaten up, way more than any other gym I've been too. That isn't a reflection on the owners, but more so the members as multiple classes had the coach ask people not to drop the lighter plates and it would still happen, thus the cracking. Other than that, the coach was good, owner is very passionate about it which is great to see, still a good place to check out.

Steve has come by me many times in the gym, before hip surgery of course, giving me pointers on thruster, butterfly pull-ups, muscle ups, etc... All of this to say if you're looking to get into crossfit or want to take the next step to be even more serious about it, this is definitely the place to go to! Ciaran is very patient, guiding me through this process , taking notes as to my ability, always giving positive feedback in my progress. His attitude and ability to train someone like myself (over the age of 60!) has improved my confidence in my ability to "get in shape" ! As I recently retired, I was determined to improve my strength, mobility, and flexibility, and the difficulty I had in finding a place or person that felt appropriate was surprising. I feel super lucky to have found Renu. At the end of every session, I feel challenged but not beaten up. Dino is not only great at working around limitations but also working on improving those limitations (and has the credentials to back up his approach). I'm pretty new to Renu, but I feel like this approach will help me improve at a pace that's good for me and will help my consistency (which has been an ongoing issue). In the short time I've been going, the most significant change has been mentally. I just feel better in body and mind. What also stands out is the supportive environment; there is zero intimidation when walking into Renu. Yes my daughter had been attending this place for probably over 2 years and I had been asked if I…read morewanted to join so I said what the heck. I came in on a Sunday which is open mat where the owner is not there. I then made the choice to "roll someone who may or may not be on the payroll but is teaching students nonetheless. I had gotten myself into a kimora and this "coach" as they call him did not stop when told to stop or when I tapped on him and said stop which is how martial arts works. 2 seconds later the exact same thing happened only on the other arm and as I say tap and I'm tapping on this guy all he does is twist harder. I confront the owner later when he comes back in and have a long talk. He says that I should have a talk with this person and work it out with him. Needless to say I'm left with two damaged elbows and myself wondering why I'm supposed to confront this guy who clearly has a whole lot of disrespect at least for me on his mind. I don't think it would be right for me to have a conversation with a person who clearly doesn't want to have conversation only wants to twist arms until damage is done. If I was doing something wrong I certainly wasn't being told such. Never would have go beyond that which is a tap or a verbal tap as this guy did. Great place until I had to put myself into the mix. My daughter was learning how to grapple which is all that I wanted. This guy told me how he was the met enforcer for the owner and the owner denied it. Also told me how he used to break people's arms and legs when he was in the martial arts academy that used to be a few doors down. I guess I should have listened to him and never put myself with him. I enjoyed the experience until I got with him. The agenda he had is the agenda he had I can't speak for him. Because my elbows aren't healing I would give zero Stars. I've been forced to give a star.
