We stayed for two nights and we had an exceptional view from the hotel room window. Our room was very nice with a big bed and lounging couch and nice bathroom. The hotel is in a perfect place for walking around the city. We could walk outside and directly to the river, that was so pleasant. We noticed the locals were jumping into the river to swim so we decided to do the same. It was brisk and refreshing!!! I overall loved visiting Zürich, it's a really cool city, and staying here was just part of that enjoyment. The Thai restaurant White Elephant was delicious and so awesome to have in the hotel.

We were a short walk away from most of the shops/sights that we wanted to go to. It was also convenient since it was less than 1/2 mile from the train station. There's a lounge in there for Marriott members that serves breakfast, snacks during the day, and even dinner. Reception was friendly and it was accommodating that the staff knew English. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and the whole of the hotel has a fancier feel to it. Since we came in pretty late at night, our dinner options were limited and we decided to eat in house at one of the two restaurants in the hotel. We chose the Movenpick Restaurant over the Italian restaurant because the Movenpick restaurant offered Swiss food. Despite the exorbitant price point (most main dishes were minimum of ~35 francs each), we were drawn in by the staff, Swiss appeal, and nice atmosphere of the restaurant. When asked for recommendations, the server told us our party of 8 should order 8 dishes of "Zurich style veal" 30-35 francs). This came across to me as either supreme confidence in that dish, or laziness at offering other recommendations. We decided to try the "Zurich style veal" and the "Riz Casimir". To say we were disappointed with our meals is an understatement. The "Zurich Style Veal" is essentially a humongous hash brown that is dipped in mushroom cream sauce. Bits of veal are included in the sauce, but you have to hunt around for it. I think they should rename this dish to "Zurich style Hash Brown with Cream Sauce". As for the "Riz Casimir" dish (36 francs), I had higher hopes for a dish that had been "invented and served by the Movenpick restaurant since 1952". But they should rename this dish to "Undercooked Jasmine Rice with Curry, Some Veal, and Fruit". For such a high class seeming place, the breakfast "buffet" is also lacking. You have your basic hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, bread, and cheese. Other than that, we did enjoy our stay here in terms of comfort. But unless you're here to just drop money and bounce, I'd suggest shopping around for a more wholesome and budget friendly experience.

It's on the outskirts of Zurich and located in a small village like area with very little to do nearby. Getting to the centre of town takes about 30 mins from here. It's a reasonably big hotel with lots of rooms and a conference centre. There were about 600-800 people at the conference so big enough to accommodate a large group. The rooms were a bit small (well mine was anyway) but functional. The shower was a bit weak but once again, functional. The rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable and this hotel is a non smoking facility. It's quite expensive for what it is and parking costs CHF 18 a day. The conference facilities were excellent and the staff very helpful, attentive and nice. The food quality was also good and we were served some nice meals throughout the conference. Everything worked and the wifi was also pretty good. I would happily come back here for a conference. There is a shopping centre just meters away from the hotel so you can get food and other shopping done if you need it. Public transport is also meters away and it's a nice quite area. Whilst bang for buck is small it is a nice facility.

Having motorized blinds on the windows was wonderful because you could get the room really dark. Great for sleeping. The hotel is convenient to a grocery store and there are some restaurants in the area. Public transportation is very close by. Viking Cruises had a large number of their passengers staying there so it was sometimes hard to get on an elevator. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Definitely try to compare the price of your room by booking directly through the hotel online and by checking other online booking services; there is frequently a decent discount or even upgrade (also sometimes if you book multiple nights) directly through the hotel booking portal. The rooms are comfortable and plush. They use a lot of velvet. I love the fact that they give little gifts;the last time I stayed here they included a little item in a gift box with the room. There's a very small but decent "boutique gym" in the hotel; you are fine as long as no one else comes in as it's quite small. The lobby reception is great and the staff is very professional. There's always somewhere open (nearly 24 hours) as you are right by the train station, and they also have a lovely little bar/ café in the hotel; you can sit outside as well. The nice thing about Zurich is the area around the train station isn't sketchy like "Rue de Berne" near Geneva station or in front of the Gare de Lausanne. Zürich's main station is clean and well organized; the Bahnhofstrasse next to the hotel is the grandest and most opulent high end shopping street in Zurich... the really over the top part is a bit further down and it stretches over a kilometer. I really can't fault this hotel other than it's a bit expensive, but most hotels in Zurich are. For the price, you are saving on a cab or extra train ticket as you literally can hop right onto the train across the street and get to the airport or almost anywhere in Switzerland and abroad. All from the incredible Zürich train station. So this is a wonderful stop to take and a hotel for travelers looking for a peaceful respite without venturing far from the station.

The surrounding area is surprisingly lively as well, with restaurants, grocery stores, and a concert venue nearby, making it easy to find something to do without heading into the city center. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I particularly liked the motorized blinds, which can be raised and lowered with the touch of a button. One tip: if your room faces the road, keep the blinds closed when you want privacy, as there are tall buildings directly opposite and it's quite easy to see into the rooms. I only noticed a cleanliness issue I found a plastic wrapper under the bed, which suggests housekeeping may have missed a spot.

The shower pressure was good but the bathroom was small. They provided a full set of shampoo and conditioner. Slippers are provided upon request at the front desk. There was only one person working at the front desk, no porter that I noticed. My room faced the main street where there was a bus station. There were loud (drunk??) people there throughout the night which kept waking me up. The bed is by the window so I didn't hear hallway noise, just loud street noise and bus stop people noises. The rooms really could use some double paned glass. Probably if you're facing the other side it would be fine. The included dinner we had at the hotel was mediocre but edible. I thought it was odd they had the rosti (hash brown) as part of a course dinner. The broccoli was cooked to mushy texture. The servers were very nice. Breakfast was better than dinner. Location wise if you have a car or you're on a tour it's probably fine, but it's not a convenient location. It's far from old town, tourist sites, and restaurants/shopping. There's nothing nearby other than a grocery store. If you're planning to explore the city on your own, this would not be a good place to stay.

The only reason I'm giving this a 4 is because we found the temperature to be on the warmer side there were no windows, so we couldn't open to let a cool breeze in, but don't let this dissuade you as we run hot and we pump up the air conditioner or open up windows during cold days.

Yes, your bathroom is right there, in that glass pod. The windows were incredible! I had a lovely city view that I could adjust to any amount of light due to the slatted curtains. And because our building had (the very rare) AC, the windows did not open to outdoor air, which is a shame, the nights were cooler than the room got and I was hot flashing. We had a king-size bed, up against the window, a desk and television, a sink and refrigerator and a closet space. The room was as wide as the bed is long. Blew my mind. The staff was most courteous, the check in folks especially. Bar staff was awesome and they know how to draw a great cappuccino too. I can't wait until we get to travel back to Switzerland and get to stay here again. It's so central to everything and made getting to places a breeze.

Staff was nice, but not overly helpful for travelers trying to figure out things like the local train schedule. Train station closer-by, easy walk. Rooms were just OK. Cutesy little safe handles on all the doors. Not located in the best part of the city, but safe. Our main criticism of the hotel (like the review of the restaurant there) is that they allow smoking in the building. We get it, in Europe smoking is much more of a thing than in the U.S., but the Kameha Grand was the only hotel we visited in two weeks that allowed smoking indoors. The hotel would claim "it's only a section in the restaurant." That may well be, but it's like the early attempts to segregate non-smokers in U.S. restaurants into a different section, no walls, no fans, no filtration system, just a separate area. That's the Kameha Grand. Apparently management is obvious to the spread of cigarette smoke throughout the building. It smelled like a casino with no ventilation. For the price, you have to do better than that. If you're a heavy smoker, Kameha Grand is your kind of place. For a non-smoker, we cannot recommend you stay there.
