This guest house is very centrally located in Zurich and easy to book online (try booking.com) and it is extremely good value. There is no reception but you get a code to enter at the door when you arrive & when you enter the code you will get a physical key to get into your apartment/room. Our double room was clean with a shower room ensuite. There is free wifi for guests - just follow instructions on the door in your room! read more
This was a fantastic value. It was by far the cheapest accomodation I found in Zurich, so I was skeptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The rooms are very clean and some basic soap is provided. It was perfectly comfortable for my two night stay. The real highlight of this place is the location - I didn't have to take any public transit the whole time I was in Zurich apart from to and from the lodge to the main train station when I arrived and departed (so you save even more money just by nature of staying here because transport isn't very cheap). It's so centrally located that I was able to walk or bike to every site I wanted to visit. It's also in a neighborhood that seems to be popular amongst young professionals - plenty of bars and relatively less expensive restaurants and takeaways, by Zurich standards. I will certainly stay here again when back in Zurich! read more

Sooo, let me get started. There's so much to say, that it might take me a whole day to write. Phew! Ok so, the way to get into the actual building is confusing as heck. I could've finished a Rubik's cube faster than the amount of time it took us to figure out how to get our key (and mind that I don't know how to complete a Rubik's cube). The one thing they should do first to improve their STAR Lodges is to get a reception or someone to help out newcomers. I thought that my family and I were going to have to sleep outside! After almost an hour of stress, anxiety, and anger, we figured out how to get our key. Can you at least give more descriptive instructions?! A town local had to help us out. Once we got in, we were not expecting these AMAZINGLY terrible room! Or may I say rooms. This was supposed to be an Airb&b/apartment; but was it? HECK NO! It was a cheap hotel! We were expecting a kitchen, and house like layout, like described IN THE INFO BOX!!! Once we got into the room, it was C R A M P E D. Two people could barely walk around the room without having a head on collision. The pillows on the bed were dirty, flat, and small. And there were only two (one for each person). IF I WANTED TO SLEEP ON THW FLOOR THEN I WOULD SLEEP IN FRONT OUTSIDE. Only one outlet worked in the room, out of like 12. So it became a battle of who could charge their phone and portable charger. After about 12 hours of staying there, only turning on the lights once, the lights in the bedroom and bathroom did not work. I had to take showers in the dark... the tv after working for about a day stopped working as well! How else am I supposed to continue watching my Grey's Anatomy in German?! The fridge also didn't work; it was hotter than the sun. Now, let's talk about hot. It's not their fault that it's humid inside, but for the outrageous price on this APARTMENT there was no A/C! I couldn't even sleep!! The neighborhood is not very nice either. People were walking around, screaming, throwing things out of their window, and running around; all of the 4 nights I slept there!! Not only was my skin melting off, but my eardrums were suffering from the aggravating noise outside. Zürich is a beautiful city, and I loved it, but I would prefer to live out in the street during the nights. The hair dryer also didn't work, which is ridiculous, because, WHAT IS IT THERE FOR?!!!! DECORATION!! The iron was burnt and could leave stains on the clothes is "Ironed"... this is off topic, but I need more PILOOWSSSSS!!!!! Also, the pictures online DO NOT match reality. The pictures look like Vogue magazine, but in reality the room is the old newspaper you pick up from the gas station, that should've been shutdown 10 years ago. Anyways, if you read all of this, take my advice and don't stay here. Have fun in Zürich! read more

I am disappointed that they find themselves unable to refund a three night reservation, made and cancelled within an hour, over two weeks prior to arrival. Not sure they have their ethics on the right side of running a hospitality business, so I can't say that I trust their little business either. read more
