My experience as a nail tech at this salon was a nightmare. Van, Ana, and Linda treated me with extreme disrespect every day and seemed to be working together to find ways to get rid of me. The owner (Van) seemed to be threatened by my skills. Rather than addressing her concerns directly, she spoke bad about me to clients who requested me and discouraged them from booking my services. I bet the owner will lie about what happened, so I will attach the screenshots shared by a customer (see attached). When I brought this issue to her attention today, she fired me and threatened to report me to the NJ State Board of Cosmetology & Hairstyling to have my license revoked, despite signing an attestation to the government couple of weeks prior. This feels like outright retaliation; if she genuinely believed I was not properly trained by her own self, she should not have signed the form in the first place. Every day was a struggle as she gaslighted me into thinking I was the problem, when she was truly the core issue. Her unprofessional behavior not only undermined my confidence, but also created a toxic atmosphere. Several clients noted the negativity and some even decided not to return. If you're seeking a pleasant nail salon experience and a supportive staff environment, this salon is NOT the place for you. Today I had a appointment for 1030am. I arrived at the nail salon at 1020am where there was one tech and a walk in that she was giving a pedicure too. Tech let me know next tech would be in 10 min. About 20 min later a tech did come in but sat in her chair didn't acknowledge i was there. 40 min later another tech Linda came in and asked what i was getting i told her we proceeded to the pedicure chair where I sat down she and set everything up and was about to begin my pedicure when she tells me her regular costumer came in i would need to get up and wait again just a reminder I'm already in the pedicure chair and already waited 40 min. she continued to raise her voice and tel me how this was a regular costumer I would need to wait I walked out Linda was so unprofessional. I have never seen such terrible unprofessionalism and costumer service! The way i was treated as a costumer is absolutely unprofessional,disrespectful and disgraceful way to run a business.. I would recommend if you are going to get nail or wax services to go somewhere else there costumer service is atrocious. read more

I was given an appointment for 3pm....got there at 2:55pm. Linda who was suppose to do my nails was with another client....apparently she just start that person. Instead of telling me she continues to say one min one min ...after 30 mins I left. I think it's very unprofessional inconsiderate ...why not say come back Or tell me the truth. I was hoping this place works bc it's walking distance to my house. I rather buy gas and travel then to deal with unprofessional anybody I'm paying. Im not a very picky person but lets start off by saying this nail salon is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUSSSSS, First of all the nail salon is dirty and odorous, i went to get a pedicure and my daughter had a manicure. The lady who did my nails "Grandma Moses" barely did anything and sat there day dreaming for more then an hour, she barely used any force to clean my cuticles and barely made an effort, when she started putting on the polish it was chunky and a mess. As i calmly asked for her to clean it up a little, she then proceeded to yell and argue with me, i said alright im sorry and she went on for quite a bit yelling, complaining and arguing to her fellow employee, i politely asked her to take it off and as she was doing so she was lecturing my daughter about how she did cut my cuticles. Horrible. Went in for a manicure and pedicure. $48 for a terrible job. There is top coat all over my fingers and under my nails. Spotty and uneven nail polish. Pedicure was rough. There was trash all over the floor in front of the desk. After waxing, i am still covered in wax and left to continue to pluck/remove the unwanted hair surrounding my eyebrows. Going on honeymoon for 3 weeks so i paid lot of $ just for nails $75 plus tip. I was told it won't come out even though they look thick. That They are permanent. Well, 5 days later the night before my flight one nail comes off. I never had that happen when the nail pulls out from the back. Just now my 2nd nail is out. And I'm in flight. They are expensive for bad job. Plus when I went to get if fixed I was told to come back. I said I have a flight in the morning. The woman was not happy to do my nail. Just moved from a town nearby and decided to try this place. I needed a good gel place because I hate when the gel chips off your nails and then you're screwed. I was pleasantly surprised when my gel manicure lasted almost a month! No chipping, just growth from the base, which is why I get French manicures so it lasts. The staff is very nice, talkative but quiet if you just want to relax. They do pretty much everything here. Mani/pedi, waxing, you name it. Even if you make an appointment and someone else arrives before you, you'll need to wait. That's the only reason I didn't give them * * * * *. They have done a good job with my eyebrows, I must say. You really can get things done with pretty much anyone here. They are all fairly good. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I thought it would be nice to take my step daughter to get a pedicure for her 19th birthday, so I made an appointment at SX Nails. We walked into a place with at least five kids running around, about four women waiting, and all nail techs working on customers. Appointments mean nothing, so don't bother. This was a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm. I didn't expect this much of a crowd. First, groups of rambunctious kids should NOT get their nails professionally painted, especially when they need them re-done 3 times because they can't sit still long enough to let them dry. Why would anyone want to spend money on kid's nails anyway? I think no professional nail-jobs on kids 12 and under should be a general rule at nail salons, unless it's one of those salons for kids, such as something called Sassy Pants Salon. Just sayin'. In any case, we waited about 45 minutes before we even sat in a chair, they did not properly clean the foot bath, the teenage girl helping (what I'm guessing is her mother) around the nail salon was eating chips while bringing us over to the chair and the nail techs were talking across the room in Chinese. It was, overall, a less than optimal spa experience. I gave two stars (opposed to one) because they did a nice painting my toenails. I needed to rush out of there to pick up my daughter, so I was in a state of hurry-up the entire time and needed to jet set out of there before my nails could completely dry. Appointments are made for a reason. Also, the price for that experience was more than I wanted to pay. My step-daughter was also disappointed, she was telling me about a place by her house in NYC that keeps appointments, lights candles, offers you spritzers, coffee, or fruit infused water for less than what I paid at this place. Won't go back. I got a gel manicure 10 days ago and it chipped by day 7. I think they add paint thinner to their polishes. This isn't the first time this happened to me either. I have been to other nail places for gel manicure and they last at least 3 weeks and sometimes longer. The price at SX is good but you get what you pay for. I would rather pay a little more and have the manicure last. read more

I usually go to a nail salon close by but they were booked for the day so I came to SX nails instead. The owner was very nice and accommodating. I had to wait about 30 mins since I was a walk-in and the place was packed. But it was all worth it. The lady who did my pedicure was really nice and did a great job. John with one front tooth did my pedicure today. Horrible work. My left big toe is bleeding. This is the second time I left this place bleeding. He put cream on my feet and then proceeded to polish the nails. After six hours the polish is now peeling off. Turn the TV off so the operators will pay attention to what they are doing and not filing your skin and ankle bones. Provide the operators glasses so that they can see what they are doing. The lighting is very bad. SX's drying table does not have a fan, only blue lights. Blue lights do not dry regular polish. What's the point of sitting there with a blue light on your feet? They need to get decent nail polish. All of the products are unknown brand names, the bottles are half empty and the colors are separated. I live in Fords and was hoping this place would be good. The market is flooded with nail salons on every corner. None of the operators working at any of these places are good. It's all about getting you in there and out as fast as possible. I have been going there for about two months. The last time I went there was New years eve day for a gel manicure.. My nails started chipping by the end of the day. I don't know if she didn't keep me under the dryer enough or it wasn't working. After that my daughter reluctantly went and the same thing happened. Then on Friday my other daughter was going to go(it is so convenient and they usually take you fast). I convinced her to give them another chance, and to pick an OPI gel polish which is supposed to be better. And to tell them what happened last time. While she was waiting to get started they had a call from someone whose gel polish chipped the same day they were done. My daughter walked out. Gel Manicure should not chip in one day.
