Parking and facilities at the main entrance, plus parking on the other side of the pond, and two smaller picnic areas up the road, with observation areas and shelters. One had a workout area, but not quite the playground we wanted. I didn't see bike paths, which is another feature I like in a park. But that's not really the purpose of this one- they're preserving the wetlands, and keeping human impact to a minimum.

Although I don't know what was said during the scheduling, I wondered, towards the end, if he had been informed that he had to stick to the scheduled time. Being as late as it was, I assumed he was the only last renter of the day, since no one had a sense of urgency as the party's "end" time neared. Of course, when the time came, a large group of people appeared, waiting for us to clean and clear out. Even though he was a little frustrated about having to clean up so abruptly, I reminded the guests that whether or not we knew, it was our responsibility to stick to the plan and be off the premises by the deadline. However I think it necessary for any organization renting to impress upon the customer the importance of adherence to scheduled time. No, I'm not saying that it was their fault or responsibility at all, but somehow I think he and his co-planners believed they had the cut-off time to use to clean up, being as late as it was. Lesson learned. Thankfully, the incoming party was kind enough to let us scramble and dump everything without incident. The area was nice, nothing out of the ordinary, so I give it 4 stars. I've never participated in any of the July 4th festivities at his location over the years, but I have had my concerns about security from time to time, particularly with the incidents of violence. But again, that's on the people, not the organization. Some things, even security have difficulty controlling.

Like the name of the park suggests, this is a very sensory-friendly park, and there are nature stations set up all around where you can use your senses to explore. There is also a short, paved trail that goes around the park, which is wide and smooth enough for strollers and wheelchairs. The trail goes by a creek, which is nice. As of right now, this is the only sensory-friendly park in the state of Ohio! It's definitely worth a visit.

Along the path are a variety of interactive stations that are also designed to be accessible. If you start near the entry sign, you'll find a Little Free Library, which, on our recent visit, was loaded with a lot of great kids options. Just ahead is a variety of benches and a little music garden, featuring musical instruments that can be played, and you can also interact with the Rough Bark Tactile Display to learn more about different tree barks. A little further down are the cutest animal looking instruments that can also be used. As you continue down the path, you find a swingset with a variety of swings that include both traditional and accessible options. There's a nice little shaded bench area with information about the creek, Fetter's Run, that can be seen from the location. As you proceed along, a very exciting find is the Treehouse, which is built within the forest trees as opposed to up in one, which allows a wheelchair ramp to make it accessible. This overlooks the creek and has things to explore, like neat nature art and a second floor (not accessible) with a fire pole. At the end of the path is a shelter house with picnic tables and nearby grills. Most, if not all, of the signage included Braille translations, as well. There is a large parking lot here, but I do note that this is located behind a school, so I'm not sure how that would affect parking for a visit during a school day.

What a GREAT hidden gem, so close to the airport and the burbs of Columbus, but yet so far!! I think more downtowns should have a woodsy area to wander and "escape" a bit from the suburban "grind." Plenty of shops, restaurants, and even a brewery to check out, also apparently lots of fun festivals, but make sure you also wander the winding, wooded walkways, a WONDERFUL way to "get away from it all, right in your own backyard!!

This is a new park attached to Westchester Golf Course (apparently; however, I haven't seen any…read moreholes...), just off a few new housing developments. I especially love all the shaded areas that are provided; even the jungle gym is cover with a nice canvas awning. I have been wanting to check out the canopy walk at Blacklick for a while now - maybe a couple…read moreyears?! Well, yesterday - a girlfriend, my daughter, and I finally went and had a good time! We enjoyed a hike on the paved trail - I'm not sure how many trails there are or how many are paved, but this was a four-mile trail. It was a nice and smooth trail! If you're looking for calm/quiet hike - this may not be the metro park for you. You hear a lot of noise - cars rushing by, we heard a guy on a PA system not too far away, etc. Also, it could be because of where we parked, but I didn't see many signs for different paths/trails like at other metro parks. We went with the paved one since it was the closest to where we parked, but that's about it. We didn't see any signs for other paths/trails throughout the four-mile hike either. The canopy walk was fun! It was my favorite park of our hike! However, be prepared for lots of steps to get up to the canopies! While I consider myself fairly in shape, I was out of breath by the time I got to the top. For those of you worried about the steps, there is an elevator to get to the canopies as well! We had some cute photos opps and enjoyed our time in the "newer" area. There's a tiny kids area up there too! The only "concern" we had while up there was a tall tree that was swaying. The concern was more for the hikers below - not for those up at the canopies. Overall, we had a fun experience! I would definitely recommend Blacklick Woods Metro Park for a nice change of scenery and for the canopy walk!

We would have left him at home had we known to explore more. It's such a weird thing since all our trails in Dayton are open to dogs on leases. Other then that this is a very pretty and populated park. Lots of options for walking, hiking, biking, running, birdwatching, picnics, and play. The Canopy Walk inside this park is pretty cool to see too. This was pretty cool. Similar to The Wilds in NY, but smaller. There are a lot of stairs to walk up or you can take the elevator. Lots of cool views. We were there mid-morning and didn't see many birds, but they had counted a bunch and the one worker kept spotting more. My son liked the little play area, but was nervous at how tall the fire pole was so he didn't slide down it.

Including a pond that you can walk down by for fishing and birdwatching. And there's an old covered Bridge on one of the trails that you can see from the drive in.
