The short summary is that Lauren Hutton is a complete fraud and literally stole $10k of our money after only booking one vendor for our wedding. We hired Sydney Camille events for our wedding in June of 2023, and upon signing the contract I heard nothing from the planners and was told I was foolish to think we could book anything (venue, makeup artists, Florists, photographers) until December. We paid for the full package and got zero support in finding a venue. Lauren Hutton knew our budget and showed us the most expensive venue in all of Napa county, which was clearly outside of what we could afford. She kept telling us that she never heard back from venues/vendors but when I reached out to them directly, they were extremely responsive and we were able to set up tours within the next week. Lauren Hutton "terminated" our contract after only two months and after only booking one vendor for us and kept all of our money--which was $10k for the full package!!! She had said on a phone call that she would return some of our money and then sent an email with falsified hours and responded to our emails telling us to "take her to small claims court". My husband and I are the most easy going people in the world, Lauren was clearly out of her depths and literally stole our money and ran. Me and partner finally had our wedding after 2 date changes and 1 venue change, and Lauren was with us through it all. She was always very responsive, super patient with all of our questions (and we had a lot of questions!), and really helped us navigate the whole process of choosing vendors, booking rentals, etc etc. She was also very respectful of our wedding budget, which we truly appreciated. As for the day of, she and her team were amazing -- they knew exactly where all of our homemade decorations should go, set up our tables, even arranged some impromptu bridesmaids/bridal bouquets for our wedding photos because our flower delivery was nowhere in sight! They were seriously prepared for anything - even had bug spray for us when mosquitoes unexpectedly came out, and helped do a last minute alcohol run when they realized we were running low! My husband and I decided to hire Sydney Camille Events for our wedding (we did the month of package) and we are so glad that we did! There are so many things about SCE that made our special day worry free. From our first meeting with Christa, we knew that she was going to be an amazing planner based on her outgoing personality, excitement and honesty of wedding planning. We provided her with our initial vision, discussed different budget options, ideas and loved how she was completely realistic and attentive to our needs. As our special day approached, we worked very closely with Christa on finalizing all the fine details of our wedding day and rehearsal dinner (vendors, etc). A week before the event, we heavily monitored the weather and were completely bummed when we realized rain was very likely for our ceremony under the redwoods. Just when panic set in, Christa reminded us "it's good luck to rain on your wedding day". Christa's absolute cheery and calm demeanor assured us that our day would not be ruined despite the rain. She helped us come up with a contingency plan and jumped right into action, making phone calls to different rental companies looking for a tent and helped to secure one very last minute. When we were ordering every clear bubble umbrella in a 50 mile radius, she was very kind to pick up additional ones near her home. There wasn't anything she wasn't willing to do. Once our wedding weekend started, Christa's amazing multi-tasking skills, organization and attention to detail came into play. She assisted with our rehearsal, making it run smoothly and completely stress free. She put my mom's worry to rest and had the rehearsal dinner set up beautifully. On our wedding day, Christa and her assistant worked their wedding magic. They turned our vision into more than we could have imagined. From the gorgeous set up of the tent, to the decor in the reception hall, dessert table, welcome table etc, we were quite impressed and in awe when we saw it for the first time. I never thought I'd need a wedding planner -- I'm organized and have worked my fair share of events, right? I figured I'd rather put the cost of planning towards one of the other (many) wedding expenses. But after a few engaged months, I'd made zero progress, and my stress was mounting. My dad finally encouraged me to call Lauren, who he'd heard about from a friend. 10 minutes into our first call, I knew I needed to hire Lauren. She was someone who could make the wedding planning process fun. Weeks before our wedding, I could not have been more thankful to have Lauren taking care of all the final details -- I had no idea how many tiny little things get hammered out 2-weeks before your big day! Lauren is an exemplary wedding planner, from 12+ months out, to the day of, to the days after your wedding. There are 3 things specifically that stood out to me about working with Lauren: 1. Lauren makes you feel like you're her only client. Logically, I know she's helping multiple brides at the same time, but every time we met, spoke, or emailed, I felt like her focus was entirely on me. 2. Lauren has an answer for everything. She's been in the industry long enough to be a fount of knowledge herself, and if she doesn't know the answer to something, she finds out quickly. Questions big or small -- she's seen it all. 3. Lauren keeps everything under control, without you (the bride) being the wiser. Whether it's 6 months out negotiating with your caterer; 2 weeks out sending crazy detailed timelines to every vendor; or on the day of your wedding making sure your sister-in-law's family has a primo parking spot since they have a newborn baby in tow. Again, no task is too big or too small -- Lauren just makes it happen, with a smile. One more example: our alcohol vendor showed up at our venue with double the white wine and no red wine... Lauren made them fix the mistake within 20 minutes (and made sure I didn't even know this happened until days later!). We met Lauren from Sydney Camille Events at one of the Bay Area wedding fairs a little over a year ahead of our wedding and booking her part-time package was the best decision we could have made! OUR BIGGEST WEDDING-RELATED ISSUE: Being one of the first to get married among our close friends and family, we found ourselves struggling to find the perfect vendors for us; we were extremely overwhelmed by search results, reviews, suggestions from Facebook friends, the list goes on. Pair that with the frustration we had in finding good, quality vendors at a price range within our budget, and you have an unorganized and indecisive mess. HOW SCE CAME TO OUR RESCUE: Working within the wedding industry as a planner, Lauren has naturally built great relationships with florists, DJs, lighting partners, caterers, venue partners, calligraphists, print shops, and a bunch of other types vendors. Because she's built such great rapport with them and continuously brings them business, most of these vendors are able to provide brides/grooms with discounted pricing. Like most vendors she introduced us to, we did consultations/intros and explored the options in working within our budget. However, we did have some vendors in mind that we knew we wanted to commit to that Lauren hadn't worked with before, and she was incredibly open and flexible in going with our flow, even after introducing us to her contacts. WHERE SCE REALLY SHINES: Outside of being the one solution to our number of undecided vendors that would work within our budget and bring our visions to life, we really got our money's worth through her flexibility in working with us in the best way that allowed us to be efficient and effective. Her occasional (or frequent, depending on what kind of bride/groom you are!) check-ins, and her presence most especially in the weeks leading up to our big day + the day-of coordination were also huge highlights for us. There are so many moving parts and check-ins that need to happen with all your vendors before everything takes place and it can become overwhelming when you stack that on top of your personal worries and to-dos with family and friends prior to the wedding. Having Lauren take care of all of that was the best stress reliever we could've asked for - I'm usually one who loves to be cc'd on emails (I work in marketing and event planning, myself), but having those out of sight, really kept it as out of mind as it could possibly be in the days leading up. As a bride/groom, you really don't want to know every single bad detail that happens, especially if it can be an easy fix -- trust me, it's not worth the energy! Having Lauren + team on-site -- people who are 100% familiar with our vision and plans for decór and programming -- was SO important and valuable. The day-of coordinator that your venue will provide has no idea what your vision is unless you take the time to tell them and as a bride/groom, you don't want to put yourself through explaining 1-2+ years worth of planning into a 1 hour meeting, phone call, or email. Lauren ensured everything would run smoothly and that not one bit of bad news would reach mine and my husband's ears that day and she definitely delivered. Because of Lauren, we were able to enjoy the entire day and really relish our moments with all of our guests without having to worry about any detail whatsoever, leaving our memories tarnish-free. This review is LONG overdue. My wife Katie already left a review, but I couldn't just let one five star review sit. Seriously, Lauren deserves all the five star reviews she can get. Let me tell you a story: My now wife and I first met Lauren at a wedding fair. Katie liked Lauren because she had experience working our chose venue, Rengstorff House. I definitely liked Lauren, but I was a bit hesitant, only because I wanted to 'comparison shop.' I wanted to do what I (almost) always do: spend hours combing over Yelp reviews for dozens of options, reading every negative, calling, getting a sense of the person, getting a price quote... Well, long story short, we did none of that. Katie liked Lauren, and though I was still a bit uneasy, she felt, in her gut, that Lauren would be the wedding planner/coordinator for us. And let me tell you guys - listen to your partners when they have gut feelings like this, because my wife was absolutely right. Lauren/Sydney Camille was simply amazing. Let's start off with the fact that, yes, she understood the ins & outs of our venue. The venue is owned by the City of Mountain View, and they are VERY particular about absolutely no trash being left behind. I'm talking, not even a single bottle cap. And, if there was a bottle cap on the ground a minute after our scheduled contract time, of course they'd charge us for another hour (now, don't get me wrong. Rengstorff House was still amazing, I just wanted to make a point here). Of course, Lauren made sure that didn't happen. Originally, Lauren informed Katie & I that she unfortunately was going to be doing another wedding on our wedding day - but that we'd be working with her assistant, Linnea. Lauren also made us comfortable by still being at every meeting we had in the months leading up to our wedding (along with Linnea). Somehow, luck smiled upon Katie and I, because the other couple rescheduled their wedding and so we got Lauren on our day-of. Woo! Lauren (and Linnea) were both supremely useful and extremely understanding. When I was having issues with our food trucks that we were doing in lieu of catering for our wedding, Lauren offered to help as much or as little as I wanted. When it came to getting rentals, she knew a place that had the rustic/shabby chic stuff Katie and I were looking for, but they weren't on our venue's approved list. But Lauren pointed out they were a sister company to a company that was on the approved list, and Lauren quickly confirmed she could use them. Plus, as a wedding planner, Lauren got us a nice discount on our rentals. She did the same with our lighting. Again, when it came to videographer, photographer, DJ - she was willing to provide recommendations, but never questioning when Katie and I sought them out on our own as well. And when it came to the day off, as well as the week leading up to the wedding - she was great about making sure she had reached out to all of them. Day of, she made sure they were fed and that they did what they were supposed to do (spoiler alert: they did). She also helped when my mom said that she wanted to put together a rehearsal dinner at her house, and helped coordinate that as well - which also went off with only one minor hitch - and again, here's why Lauren is awesome. The rental company emailed my mom saying they were missing a few odds & ends (a serving tray, a pitcher, etc), and that they intended to charge her for this. Lauren immediately told them off, politely, reminding them the somewhat large sum of money we had spent on rentals. They quickly reneged (and punchline: they later found the missing stuff in their own truck). The day of our wedding, I dropped off a bunch of stuff to the venue, unsure how on earth it'd all come together in a matter of hours. Then, when I later got back to the venue - it was beautiful. Lauren did such a marvelous job, and the whole wedding went off without a hitch. I can't imagine having a better planner than Lauren/Sydney Camille (BTW, for those of you wondering like I was: Lauren is the owner of Sydney Camille - her daughters are named Sydney & Camille!). Lauren is AMAZING! We just had our wedding on October 7, 2017. It was a whole day with many events. Morning ceremony, brunch reception, evening cocktail hour, and formal reception. For over 250 guests. The day began super early and didn't end until midnight. My husband and I went all out as we had a clear vision of what we wanted and Lauren and her team was fully committed to making it happen! Our dream wedding came to life, it was so much fun and loved filled. We booked her a year in advance for the "day of" coordinating. Lauren did an amazing job putting to get her my daughter's first birthday celebration. We had the event planned from the beginning with her and she executed very well on the final delivery. This event had to be very detailed and my wife's sanity was riding on her shoulders so I can only imagine what the planner had to go through. She organized everything from the decorations to the food menu, even the coordination of vendors dropping off and picking up all the linens and tables and chairs. We had Lauren plan our daughter's first birthday. I was crazy busy at work at this time and didn't know how I was going to pull off a large party. I called Lauren and she did everything from finding the venue, entertainment, to setting and cleaning up. She was organized, easily reachable, cost-conscious and very fun and easy to work with. We did use her decorator and linen company that she works with- and I thought they were a little expensive, especially the decorator for what we got but the plus side is- Lauren picked everything up and set it up and returned the linens for us as well, so it probably evened all out at the end. Lauren of Sydney Camille Events is by far the best event planner I have worked with. She planned my bridal shower and did an amazing job! From the flowers on the table and the menu cards (which were adorable) to the food selection and the wine bar, everything was absolutely perfect. She is very kind, patient, professional and has a true eye for detail. She was always more than helpful with responding to emails and phone calls and attentive on the day of the event to make sure everything ran smoothly.
