Sylvan Farm and Market!!!!!! This S.C. Certified Roadside Market is AMAZING! No matter where you live it is worth the trip! The staff is friendly and accomodating! They have fantastic farm fresh food! Excellent Sunday Brunch complete with hot fresh waffles delivered to your table and Mimosa's made with Prosecco! There are fresh cakes in the dessert cooler! I couldn't leave without a piece of cranberry coconut cake! There is a sweet kitty named Matilda that hangs out on the porch and welcomes guests! There are Peacocks, Highland cows in the pasture and all kinds of other animals to enjoy! There is a gift shop/market with all kinds of local goods, including fresh produce, local honey, handmade candles, handmade goats milk soap ....locally raised grass fed beef! Their prices are so reasonable and the party was a huge hit. They don't have a limit on how many people you can invite, which was a major selling point for me. We had over 50 guests in attendance, and they were able to very easily accommodate everyone. The kids had a ball riding ponies and petting animals. They also have a little play ground. Heard about the farm through Facebook. It's officially closed to the public because of the pandemic…read more( August 2020 ) but they are still accepting volunteers. The website is clear and complete about the animals at the farm. 300 + animals! Holy Cow. We decided to volunteer one morning from 8:30am - 11:30am. What an experience. We were assigned to dump old water, clean out the buckets and pools, and refill them all. For 200 pigs. Wow. Most of the pigs would walk up to you and were curious. Most of them you could pet. None of them were aggressive or scary. The farm is mainly sandy, you definitely need a good pair of rubber boots. Sometimes it's wet, sometimes there is poop. Put bug spray and sunscreen on. We watched the caretaker feed the pigs. That was a site in itself! Then we helped pick up poop in the cow/horse/donkey enclosure. I have to say, it was a great experience. Josh, the caretaker took the time to answer numerous question about all of the animals. Sign up online to give a little time. The could use your help!

It's mostly run by volunteers, who take care of the horses, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, goats and alpacas. All the animals look well taken care of and are definitely loving their best lives, and you can get up close to give them a pat, or if it's deemed available, give them some food. This is separate from the horse stables, but you can still see the horses when they are out in the pasture. It's kinda a one and done thing, but kids will love it, and it's an idyllic setting to be outside in nature.

I bought my son a cute mini alpaca toy ($25) and my oldest son (12 yr old) some alpaca running socks ($20). I could've watched them all day. They're so cute yet awkward and chill. I was running around with my son, but the owner was chatty and did openly share his experience and knowledge to others so I didn't get to hear the information. A unique way to spend a few hours! I highly recommend it.

There is no fee for this visit, and you can see them hanging out, and even feed them, if the alpacas feel like it. I learned a few tidbits about alpacas for example they are related to llamas. They come from S. America. These are Suri alpacas. There are two types. The other one is Huacaya alpacas. The difference is the texture of their hair. Suri alpacas have smooth soft hair. Alpacas are also good natured, and very chill. I loved seeing them, and I could stare at them for a while. I wish I could have been a little bit closer to them, and even took a selfie with them, but that was not the case. I was able to see them pretty closely. There appears to be around 60 alpacas on 15 acres. The people that own the farm are very nice, and will tell you all about them. If you would like to visit them, you can call them to visit them, or possibly like their facebook page, and they may post when they have another open house. It was a wonderfully fun experience, and I am glad I got to visit.

We called that morning and were able to visit at 2:00 PM. They welcomed us and gave us a complete and very informative tour of the farm. We got to meet the alpacas by name and visit the 11-month-old and 4-month-old alpacas with their mothers. We even had the chance to feed and walk with one of them. A huge thank you to the wonderful couple who owns this property for your kindness, patience, and understanding, especially with part of my family who did not speak English, allowing us time to translate. Your property is beautiful, and the alpacas are clearly loved and well taken care of. We will definitely visit again next time we are in this part of the country!

Lots of parking, no lines for food, and plenty of room to roam in the pumpkin patch. We grabbed a wagon and some clippers and found a pumpkin to cut off the vine. There are plenty of pre-cut pumpkins too if you'd rather just pick one that way (and take some cute pics). The wood-fired pizza was SO good and fairly priced. We really enjoyed the salsiccia pie, but all of them sounded delicious. And had to get a half dozen cider donuts for the road, obviously. I'm looking forward to returning when our kids are a bit older to try more of the family-friendly activities!

There is a big parking lot- but be careful, the driveway to get in is really narrow and only one car fits through at a time. There is no admission fee and it is free to walk around. You also don't need reservations. There is cornhole, picnic tables to sit at, a gift shop with local good slike honey and apples, a coffee truck, a lemonade truck and popcorn for sale. There are pumpkins everywhere of different shapes and sizes available for purchase in addition to gourds and mums. We bought a mum and it was $15. There are plenty of photo opportunities and a garden to walk around in. There is also a lot of space for kids to run around in. For an additional fee, there is a wagon ride you can take that will take you to see farm animals but we didn't do this. All in all, not as many activities in my opinion as some of the other pumpkin patches around town, but I did like how close it is to town compared to some of the other pumpkin patch options and it was super cute! I had so much fun Lounging around with the Goats, longhorns and Thor the Goose! Getting to know the Lanes was a wonderful experience too, they are so knowledgeable and passionate about their farm that I left with a wealth of knowledge, I will be back soon as I can't wait to see all my new found friends!
