Our child was experiencing difficulty in many school subjects as early as elementary school. These academic struggles created a great deal of stress and anxiety for our child as well as her teachers. She found schoolwork frustrating and did not feel successful. Our child has been with That Tutoring Place since elementary school and is now a successful junior in high school. That Tutoring Place has helped our child in all subjects in countless ways. They have helped her prioritize and organize, develop good study habits, break down difficult assignments in more manageable and understandable ways, assist her with test preparation and provide direction and encouragement. As a result, our daughter has been able to achieve her academic goals and most importantly, feel successful. I know of no other tutoring services that provide this level of service in all subjects with such dedicated staff for a most reasonable price. I highly recommend That Tutoring Place. Your child will benefit enormously from their services."

You will get a lot of one on one attention, and communication about your child's progress at That Tutoring Place. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I think this has made my child's experience better. It's less intimidating and makes her feel comfortable. She loves that they have snacks and Gatorade too. There are kids of all ages studying and doing homework, and I think it is great for my elementary aged daughter to see high school students working away at their homework as well. My child's tutor, Ms. Sonia has been so patient and caring. I have seen so much parent communication from the owner and you can tell they really care about helping kids succeed, and treating children and adolescents with respect and care. I am so happy I found this tutoring service in our community!

We had a fantastic experience with Lisa. My oldest was applying to middle schools in Washington…read morethat were very competitive to get into and required our daughter to do the SSAT test. She was underprepared and we only had a few months to get ready. Lisa met with my daughter 10 times over a few months and dramatically improved her scores and confidence. She did this with incredible kindness and empathy for the stress of the process my daughter was going through. I would highly recommend Lisa to any parent whose child is preparing for the SSAT (or SAT for that matter).

My family has had the good fortune to work with Mazor Test Prep on tutoring for the ISEE entrance…read moreexam when my children were in 5th grade and applying to private schools, on the AP exams as they made their journey through high school, and on the SATs as they prepared for college. The proof is in their success-my kids scored in the high 80 and 90 percentiles on their ISEEs, were accepted to their private schools of choice, and earned 5s on AP Physics and Calculus exams. My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. My younger child is now working diligently with Lisa to maximize his SAT scores as he prepares for college applications in the fall. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that both my children have dyslexia and dysgraphia-school has not come easy for them. Whether working directly with Lisa or one of her expert team members, you can expect compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to meet your child at his or level, emotionally and academically. Lisa and her team are exacting and demanding, but with an understanding that kids' anxiety levels and workloads fluctuate through the school year and need to be taken into consideration and adapted to. Working with Lisa, I felt supported as a parent, and more importantly, I knew that while my children were working hard, they too felt supported. My kids have tried preparing for standardized tests using workbooks and online/in-person group classes, but both report the one-on-one experience they have had with Lisa and her team to be the game-changer. Not only are Lisa and her team effective, they are kind! I have enjoyed all my interactions with them, and the kids do not balk when it is time to get down to work. They also feel motivated to get their work done between sessions, so they are prepared for their next meeting-with no helicoptering from me. This is how test prep should be.

I recently went through PST in hopes of landing a position in law enforcement…read more The PST website is pretty easy to navigate around and see which departments have openings. You can add to your agencies (you're applying for) right up until your written test begins, which is pretty cool. I recommend saving yourself sometime before the testing to go get your waiver stamped by a notary (costs $10 at UPS locations). If you don't do this before, arrive early and PST supplies notaries the day of (this also costs $10). The written test portion lasts about 5 hours, so be prepared to focus for that amount of time. I was surprised to find out how difficult this portion is after researching what others thought of it. Apparently, if you score above 80% on the written test, you've done really, really well. 70% is passing and it's very rare to have someone score 100% (and if you do, you're no doubt top candidate). If you pass the written test portion, you go on to the physical test. You run the 300 meter run followed by push ups, sit ups and mile and a half run. Pretty self-explanatory there. I give Public Safety Testing 3 stars only because the amount of money you have to spend in order to even apply to these police departments is absurd. With that being said, I would give PST 5 stars if it wasn't for the amount you have to pay. These guys know what they're doing, but damn, can PST cut some costs somewhere?!

I recently took a test at this facility and I was struck by how professional and organized the…read morewhole testing process was, and how nice the staff was, and how well-laid out the building site/offices were. I appreciated how they advised us that our test scores would be available to us later that day - and, sure enough, they were! A few notes of interest: -the address isn't visible from 44th Ave.W, so if you're not familiar with Lynnwood (as I'm not!), it's super easy to pass by this office park and subsequently get a little lost. Note: there is a large hotel at this site, and the office park is a bit beyond the hotel. PST is in a bldg to the left. FYI, you can see the hotel from the street, so turn in the lot there. (I was smart to give myself plenty of extra time, finding this place). -all my testing literature which I read beforehand, to be prepared, stated that cell phones weren't allowed in the testing area. Nowhere did it state that they weren't allowed in the building at all (I was prepared to leave my phone in my purse, and leave the purse outside the testing room). However, on the exterior office door was a sign"No cell phones allowed. Secure your phone in your car". So I went back outside to my car, in the pouring rain, to secure my phone. Later I discovered I could have left my phone in my purse, as there were cubbies outside the testing room for people to leave their personal belongings (and all the women left their phones in thier purses, and put their purses in these cubbies). So....I'm not sure WHAT the "real" rule is. To play it safe, I'd recommend leaving your phone in your car. Other than that, the whole testing process was extremely smooth and well-run. There was no need to bring anything; everything needed was supplied. It started on time, to the second, and was really as painless as any testing process could be!
