Hugo the hornets mascot came and entertained the children, he was available for pictures and for everyone that registered their child, they received a golden ticket and were able to get on the book bus to pick out a book that they could keep! This was a great event to kick off summer break!

Sat in lecture for 1 day with RN/program director she has jokes love her too! She is a bit strict when it comes to learning but tough love is always good. They were very accommodating with my schedule and answered all questions without getting frustrated. I would drive from Matthews to Gastonia for evening classes and 10/10 would do it all over again worth the drive & also they are a testing center a plus I didn't worry about finding or stressing over that I would say the uniforms I would prefer a solid color but eh not the main character of the experience.

This is particularly disheartening for an instructor in the sciences. She gave students bad information about HIV. But I cringe every time she insists that skills be demonstrated to perfection the very first time and when students invariably fail her on their very first try, she gives them a laundry list of mistakes. Today I asked for a copy of my certificate of completion from Umanah. She said it would be five dollars. She asked about a bad review I had written on another site. I immediately admitted I didn't think much of her program and said as much online. Then she WITHHELD MY DOCUMENTS. She held my documents hostage (which are required for nursing school applications) because I didn't like her. That is low, low, low. Thankfully, she did call me later after I told her that the Board of Nursing might be interested in her personal vendettas, and gave me my documents.

I complained and the center manager told me it was "on brand" for that tutor. My daughter tried to be more collaborative, but at the expense of her own learning. I really enjoy the language classes here since all of the classes are 3-4 people which allows for more individual attention from the teacher. I was a little hesitant when signing up for classes initially since there aren't a lot of reviews online for the language classes. I was pleasantly surprised after taking their Level 1 class, I was able to start forming basic sentences in French. The classes aren't like your high school courses where you have tests every week an are penalized for not doing your homework, this definitely makes it a more relaxing learning experience. Would definitely recommend taking a language class here!

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, the library is hosting presentations that focus on increasing the understanding and acceptance of persons with autism (register at cmlibrary.org). The program which peaked my interest the most was the Black Owned Business Showcase which is held during Black History Month. It is a chance to meet successful African America entrepreneurs from the Charlotte community from various industries for information and networking. There is also the 'Reading Check up' which is supported by Learning Ovations, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and Read Charlotte. It is a program that prioritizes your child's reading need and it is free of charge in Mecklenburg County.
