Do you live in the middle of nowhere and you are searching for tutoring help for your child? We were in your shoes, too! Our 6th grade daughter was struggling in school. We contacted Sylvan of Lee's Summit about tutoring thinking that it probably wouldn't work out because of our distance from a center. We live approximately 3 hours from Lee's Summit which is the closest center to where we live. Obviously, in person tutoring was not a feasible option for us. After discussing our options with the director, we decided to give the online program a try. We purchased tutoring hours for our daughter and she is able to log on with a code through Zoom. We have never had any major issues connecting with the center. The teachers work very hard to make her feel as though she is right there at the table with them. When it is time to do progress testing, we do have to travel to the center. How often this occurs depends on how many hours they tutor per week. Progress testing occurs after a certain number of tutoring hours. Our daughter enjoys going to the center for progress testing. It is like a treat for her to actually be in the building. We have been with Sylvan almost 8 months and will be continuing for at least another 5-6 months. Our daughter's confidence in herself in school has improved since beginning Sylvan. She enjoys seeing herself master skills during the lessons. I highly recommend Sylvan of Lee's Summit. The director and teachers are wonderful to work with and always willing to help. read more
