On a daily basis I moan, groan and gripe to do the easiest things from brushing my teeth to an average household tasks. Owning a small business my clients rely on me to be able to fulfill orders and keep content and merchandise fresh. Without adequate care my quality of life has been horrid. Remaining stoic in front of family friends and loved ones HAD BEEN a great task as I have tried to hide my pain until it became evident to everyone around me I couldn't even play a round of golf before retiring after a few holes. (and that's not bc I was in the sand and water all day either! L:) ) Experience: My experience with Midwest Pain has given me hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel again. With amazing attention to detail, a combined approach of Physical Therapy, On-Site Treatment, and Honest Approach from day 1 gives them a 10 Star review in my book. PA-C Angie Osmanski 10 Stars for your amazing attention to detail and treatment plan you prepared for me. Chewly at intake 10 stars you are amazing and are worth every penny. Dr. Pontinen 10 stars for your communication. A rare thing nowadays. A Diamond in the Rough, If you have concerns, they take them serious. They are also very adamant as they should be about about explaining and making sure patients understand the medication being prescribed what it does and how it works. They do not prescribe just to prescribe. This is a legit establishment and they have quite the Roster of Doctors on they're Team that all have unique areas of training in different areas of pain management So it's a safe bet that someone on they're Team can help find the best treatment plan for anyone in need of Pain Management. I Highly recommends MW pain and look forward to my ongoing road to recovery. Thank you MW PAIN for making tying a knot when I came to the end of my rope ! Avoid these quacks! I went to Rush pain clinic because Northwestern wasn't able to see me for 5…read moreweeks and then my injection would take an additional 2 weeks to be scheduled. When I called Rush on a Tuesday, they had an appointment for me on Friday. I thought this was great, however, they were able to get me in for my evaluation and then told me it would be 6 weeks before they would be able to give me my injection. They were able to get me in one day sooner than Northwestern. I filed a complaint and the manager called me back and asked if anyone at the front desk offered me a sooner appointment by seeing a different anesthesiologist. I told her no and she said that's not how we do things here. If the patient is in pain, we will offer them a sooner appointment but it will be with a different doctor. I accepted that offer and it still took an additional 3 weeks to get me in. You are not seen by an actual doctor or anesthesiologist here, you will be seen by a fellow. I had a total of four appointments and each one of them was done by a fellow and the doctor followed up for maybe 3 minutes at the end of my appointment. Some of the fellows are good but one of them left me speechless. She came into the room and asked me if I decided if I was going to get the injection for my pain and I was speechless because I was there for a follow-up after my second injection. They left me sitting there for 43 minutes and couldn't even review my chart before coming into see me? This is when I know it was the end for me with them. I was scheduled for an epidural injection and was told that the procedure takes 20 minutes. I had to be there 1 hour before my time of 9:00 a.m. and I walked out of there at 1:45 p.m. for a 20-minute procedure! They put you under for these procedures and I assumed that was necessary. They left me crying in pain on the gurney from sitting on my tailbone for 2 hours and 45 minutes. I was in such much pain and crying that they did not wait to get me to the procedure room before knocking me out. They have no concern for how long you wait. I then needed a second injection so I made an earlier appointment hoping to be out of there sooner and that is not the case. I had an 8:00 a.m. time and I walked out of there at 1:00 p.m. for a 20-minute procedure! On my second procedure they again left me sitting there on my tailbone on that gurney and I was crying in pain hanging off the side of the gurney and the nurse came in and apologized and said that they take the more severe patients First. Why are you scheduling me for 9:00 a.m. if you have more severe patients? How severe are they that they walked in there just like I did? They will put you under for each procedure. I went to Northwestern after having enough nonsense from Rush that's how I found out that you do not have to be put under for these procedures. I've done three injections at Northwestern and not once have they put me under. I also went to Rush pain clinic for an issue with my hands. I made the mistake of leaving Northwestern's notes inside my envelope that contained the CDs with my images for my wrists. The fellow came in after 3 minutes and told me what they thought was wrong with my hands and it turns out they didn't evaluate my images, they were reading everything to me that was already in the notes from Northwestern so after leaving me waiting 40 minutes , they did not bother to look at the images I brought with they just reviewed the notes that Northwestern had already put with my images . Every follow up that I've had after my injections I have waited no less than 40 minutes for a fellow to come in. I have been late for work every appointment that I've had with Rush because they don't care how long they leave you waiting. The schedulers at the desk have no concern for getting you out of there. I made several attempts to contact the pain clinic and they NEVER picked up the phone and never returned my calls. I would call in the automated system would put me on hold for 20 minutes to an hour. I filed another complaint and sent them my call log to show them how long I see it on the phone waiting for someone to pick up. I had to file a complaint with patient relations there that prompted the manager from the pain clinic to call me and that was the only way for me to schedule an appointment. Do not go here. Please, go to a place that cares. Northwestern has been a lifesaver for me and they cannot be nicer. As I waited in the waiting area, I could swear I was sitting in a free clinic. It smelled terrible, the people waiting smell terrible, the rooms were dirty and the gurneys look like they were bought at a second hand store. I expect better from a hospital that charges that much to my insurance. After my second injection, they couldn't figure out why I'm still in pain so they wanted me to see a spine surgeon. I wouldn't see a surgeon there if my life depended on it! The pain clinic makes everyone in that hospital look bad.

I went to the first office visit for the 2026 New Year today. I've been going to the Rush Pain…read moreCenter on Harrison for about 15 years and have been prescribed the same medication. To my surprise, when I went to register, I was asked to fill out paperwork requesting a credit or debit card and to have it put on file for any bills incurred. Even though I logged in to the patient portal the night before, I wasn't given advance notice of the new policy. I'm a Medicare patient who also pays for supplemental and pharmacy plans. I don't receive any additional bills for office visits. However, if I did have a bill, having a credit card on file means that, on the day the insurance processes my bill, any residual billing can be charged to my credit card before I'm notified. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to pay my bills like that. When I refused to supply a credit card, I was denied service even though I only needed prescriptions. The staff was uncaring. The young man at the front desk was very robotic in his demeanor and answers. He refused to let me speak to anyone else or register me to see the doctor. I think this policy is so wrong. I called Rush patient relations and explained the situation, including that I needed a prescription for pain medication that I need daily. Still, patient services refused to get involved because the medical office is a private practice. The Rush Pain Center is the only practice in the Rush system. I was told to have a nice day.

Clayton went out of his way to answer our questions, provide medical guidance for flu-like symptoms, and even brought us a bottle of water while we waited for the test results. I can't speak to any of the my fellow Yelpers' review but based upon my experience, I'm glad I went and recommend them highly. I first started going to them for Covid tests during the pandemic and then for general medical guidance post-pandemic. The waiting room was clean, well lit, and nicely furnished. Thank you for reading, Patrick PS: oh, one female medical attendant took my vitals before Clayton but I neglected to ask her name. She too was lovely! (1/09 update: her name is Kene, thanks Kene!)
