Rather than go with a traditional setup of a DJ playing music through a sound system, we hired Synchronicity Strings to perform during the cocktail hour prior to our wedding reception. I hired a Synchronicity string duet to play at my Fourth Floor SF City Hall wedding. Out of all the vendors listed by SF City Hall, Synchronicity had the best selection of modern pop music, which I was looking for, including an extensive Beatles repetoire. I coordinated with Rachel the songs that I wanted played and when, and it was as simple as that! When we got the the Fourth Floor for our ceremony our musicians were already seated (be sure to request chairs for them if you use the same venue!) and ready to play the music I picked out. If I could give Synchronicity Strings 6 stars, I would. We had a quartet for our wedding in May in Napa, and I couldn't have been happier with the music. We had all sorts of requests (from baroque music during the prelude to a Beatles medley during cocktail hour) and Rachel was very easy to work with and responsive. We also had a few requests that we're in the repertoire and they were performed flawlessly. I come from a family of professional classical musicians and was nervous about having a quartet at the wedding since I knew the expectations would be high. We don't live in the Bay Area and weren't sure where to find a good quartet. To this day, my family raves about the quality and professionalism of the quartet. Synchronicity Strings gave an absolutely fabulous performance at our wedding in Napa. Everything went according to plan, and all of the music was lovely. One of the songs we wanted for the ceremony was not in the group's repertoire. I sent them the song title and a YouTube video link, and they did all the research and adaptation work for a nominal fee. It is hard to find groups that will do this, and the adaptation was perfect! We chose Synchronicity Strings to play during the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour of our August wedding. Rachel was such a pleasure to work with and has an exceptional ability to arrange music. We asked her to play three pieces of music that were not on her music list and she was more than happy to accomodate us. When we tried some other string musicians (as a price comparison), they seemed to shy away from our event (some even claimed to already be booked!). Rachel not only arranged the three pieces of music, she also arranged for midi files so we could hear her arrangements beforehand (which was phenomenal). We had classical music playing while guests arrived and directly before the ceremony, and more modern/current music during the cocktail hour. For both, we picked several pieces in the style we wanted from their extensive list and they filled in the rest. As an additional bonus, they even supplied us with a PA system for our ceremony. Synchronicity Strings has an amazing repertoire of both classical and modern songs that really enhanced the elegance and class of our wedding. Having the string quartet at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made and the guests were thoroughly impressed with the ensemble. We hired Synchronicity Strings back in 2019 when our wedding was supposed to be in May 2020, and Rachel was super helpful getting us all booked. I really wanted to have a piano/keyboard involved in the music as well as strings, and she suggested the best combination of instruments for a trio including a pianist. When we had to postpone a few times because of COVID, Rachel was kind and understanding and we were able to easily book again for our new date. We scheduled a trio for our 'planned elopement' in Sonoma. The musicians were wonderful. They played the music we requested and more that fit in with our tastes (from Bruno Mars to Michael Jackson, Coldplay to The Beatles) . I know that most people who look at this will be looking to hire Rachel and her team of musicians for some sort of an event. I approached Synchronicity Strings for something a little different. I composed a string quartet and wanted it recorded. They were fantastic. Rachel was a pleasure to work with and her group was so talented. Our experience working with Synchronicity Strings was quite positive and we would recommend their services to those looking for some lovely background music for their wedding or another event. They were responsive during the planning process, have a large repertoire to choose from, and their rates for live string music were quite competitive. They were also willing to arrange and learn an entirely new piece of music that we wanted to have played during our ceremony, which was great. Although their execution of this new piece wasn't flawless, it was reasonably well done when one considers that this song wasn't previously in their repertoire. On our wedding day itself, they showed up on time, set up quickly, and played songs from a pre-selected list, as well as a few that they chose that were in keeping with the "feeling" of our selections.
