I started a few months ago- until then, personal trainers were never something I thought about…read morepursuing- too expensive, why don't I do it on my own, etc. However after failing several times on gym memberships, I gave this place a shot. Right away trainers were happy to greet me in person, enthusiastic and wanting to get to know you. I can name people such as Tracy, Scott, Candace, Bryon, many others that you get to see face to face, motivating you to keep going, keep pushing. I especially loved that they changed the routine up visit after visit, keep things interesting. Result has been transformational- I can tell I am stronger and more motivated not only at the gym but at work and to my family. Their flexible times allowed me to change my workout to early morning, even allowing my wife to be able to go as well. If you aren't an early person, the location is open also from 3-7pm. Seems there is one recent review close to me with a bad experience - I don't think I see that person available as a trainer any more (when I look at the scheduler app at least). They have free trials as well, so give it a shot. I just hit my 30th and plan to keep on going.

I've been going to Synergy for about 2 years and have only had great experiences. Bryon Palmer is the owner and is so supportive. The trainers are fantastic. The culture is so uplifting between the other staff employed (shout out Melissa who is a true angel) and members who attend.

I went to this yoga studio pre-COVID on a new member plan, which had reduced priced classes for the…read morefirst month. Overall, I liked the studio and found the class times to be convenient for my schedule. The instructors were great about showing modifications, both easier and more challenging, which I found productive to my own progress. Instructors were really great about answering questions after class (e.g., pigeon pose always cuts off my leg circulation for some reason, despite being hyperflexible, and they helped me find an alternative). I really wanted to love this place, but the main reason I did not go back is because most of their classes are hot yoga, which I really don't like. Personally, the heat does nothing for me besides drench my clothes ~completely~ in sweat (required a towel on my fabric car seats!) and, frankly, has no science to prove any benefits anyway. Plus, in addition to being annoying, it is also a hazard. I tried a lot of things to make the experience less slippery on my mat and nothing seemed to work. I just didn't think it was worth the struggle of trying not to slip and fall in basic poses, which I would not have to waste my time thinking about (and ultimately distracting me from the meditative experience) in a normal class. I also took an aerial yoga class, which was fun to try, but I personally found it pretty uncomfortable (cutting off circulation, digging into my legs despite being pretty thin figured). Just wasn't for me. If you don't mind hot yoga, you'll probably love this place. But if you do, you should choose a different studio (which is honestly hard to find in this area, as many places are hot yoga only).

I don't believe they prioritize inclusivity and welcoming vibes. Today a staff member embarrassed a…read morefellow customer to the point where she left in tears was extremely disheartening. This kind of behavior is simply not acceptable in any establishment, especially one focused on well-being like a yoga studio.

This gym is definitely affordable for member but when it comes down to someone visiting and wanting…read moreto use the club temporarily, it costs a fortune. This gym has most equipment you could want; leg, arm and ab machines and plenty of cardio machines. With that being said, the club is really busy and I've found myself waiting to use machines pretty frequently. They need more ab machines, they have one of each kind and that's certainly not enough. Some guests are cognizant of the fact that they should get on the machine, do their thing and then get off, but some people take their sweet time so it all depends. Their cardio machines are on top of one another, you can easily reach out and touch the person next to you and it makes it really difficult to get on and off the machines without brushing up against the person working out on the machine next door. The ellipticals fill up quickly, the other day not one person was using any of the ellipticals in front of me and the second 5 pm hit, every cardio machine in the entire joint was occupied. They have bikes but only 5 or 6. The one thing I don't like about Planet Fitness is the set up; it's arranged in such a way where you feel like you are on display for everyone to watch you. The cardio machines are facing the weights so while you're lifting, everyone on the cardio machines are looking straight ahead at you, it's weird. The place I must say is clean. They have several stations around the gym with paper towels and spray for you to use on the equipment after you use it. I've seen people walking around the gym sweeping and clean up so that's definitely a positive. The locker rooms are spacious and clean for the most part but they don't have paper towels in there, just air dryers, another pet peeve of mine. They have an area "roped" off in the back with various machines with a sign stating that the space is to be used for training sessions only. Not sure what that means exactly but seldom do you see people in that section so I'm not quite sure what's happening in there. So what bothers me here is the fact that if I want to work out ONCE, it will cost me $20. Seriously? That's ridiculous. They don't have an option to buy a week so for someone visiting they really don't make this gym an option unless you don't care about throwing your money away. Sure, they have a penny down $10 a month membership but you are required to sign up for a year. They have another membership thats 20 something a month, no commitment but you have a 30 or 40 dollar "sign up fee" and so you're going to be spending a fortune for that as well. It would be nice to be able to come here for a few sessions and not empty your wallet. It's not like they're running out of resources by lowering their daily rate, it's a gym. To be honest, I found another gym in Vestal that has a free week long trial and a no commitment monthly fee. It's more expensive but any gym that tries to do right by the client is going to get my business.
