I wasn't able to get to my usual hair dresser so chose to go into Synergy because it appeared to be a decent and professional place. This quickly proved to be one of the worst decisions I have EVER made.
I came in and asked the lady for a trim and some light layering, she quoted me a price and handed me off to one of the hairdressers. During the consultation I gave her specific instructions as to what I wanted for hair. I asked for light layers so my hair would sit better around my shoulders when I straighten it, I also asked her to keep the length as much as possible as I was trying to grow my hair out.
In their defense I did say my hair looked okay when she was done. She offered me to "feel" my hair but didn't hold a mirror so I could see what the back looked like.
She had blow dried my hair, so I couldn't really make out what my hair looked like when I left as it was all stuck together. When I got home and actually straightened my hair, it soon made sense why she didn't let me see the back. There was a noticeable clump missing from one side towards the back, where she obviously went too far with the thinning scissors. The layers she gave me were severe, not light, and looked like something from the 90's. I was probably only left with 5% of my hair that was still the original length. My hair looked almost mullet like when I straightened it, far from what I had asked for. I called them back and said I was really unhappy with how my hair looked, they said I had to come in, so I did. The manager had another stylist look at it, and she said there was nothing wrong, even though visibly there was a chunk of hair missing from one side. Having snarky little hair dressers whispering around the corner didn't help the situation so I decided to make a complaint, both through their website and Facebook page. Both responded saying that they'll pass on the complaint to the general manager who will be in touch to resolve the complaint. Weeks went by and I heard nothing, so I posted another comment on Facebook. Another couple of weeks by I asked again if I was going to receive the response I was promised. I then had my comments deleted and was blocked from contacting the page. My comments were factual, and gave no reason to be removed. I found this extremely dodgy on Synergy's part, posting only positive feedback but removing all negative ones.
I decided to get a second and third opinion from my usual hairdresser and another stylist, both could not believe that a hair dresser could have done that to my hair, let alone let me walk out looking like that and not take my complaint seriously. When sharing my ordeal, I soon found out others had also had similar experiences. I wish I did my research before going in.
I can't wear my hair up or down anymore, I have to spend an extra 20 minutes every morning trying to cover up the mess they created, and there's no way my hair will grow out in time to wear it as planned for my friend's wedding (who I'm a bridesmaid for).
Synergy is unprofessional, have under skilled staff , and have absolutely disgusting service recovery. They don't deliver on what they promised, not even close. read more
