Before Jerome, I had actually stopped dying my hair because I was sick of being disappointed after forking out a cool $250/$300 on a cut and colour that was poorly done or not what I wanted. Things were getting dire as my regrowth went past the stage where I could legitimately pass it off as balayage and so I booked an apt at Oscar & Co. I could tell Jerome was going to be great from the get go. He did a really thorough consultation before we got started and then absolutely delivered on both the cut and colour. But the cherry on top was that he asked if i'd like to come in the following week for a free blow dry, "just to check-in and see if I wanted any styling tips." What a champ! Every six weeks to be specific (her fringe needs all the attention) and she loves it. I can see why, as the staff are super friendly and the place has a really relaxed atmosphere. As per most hairdressers nowadays they offer you a cup of tea or coffee upon your entrance, and also have a great selection of magazines for your interests. I know they have a quite a wide range of services but I can only attest to the hair ones (cuts and colours) and they have always been great, and since their staff is loyal and sticks around I expect nothing less each visit. Also my mother gets her eyelashes tinted and eyebrows threaded here and she said both experiences are painless and quick procedures, with great results.

I went here awhile ago and was really impressed. My sister currently still goes here and is always happy with the outcome. The place itself is modern and clean and sets a good precedent for your expectations. It is a family business and many members of the family work here creating a really nice feel. The lady that greets you at the front desk is lovely and full of energy, visit once and she'll always remember your name. The head massages you get while getting a shampoo are awesome, and perhaps a little too good. The girl I had was really nice and listened to what I was saying. I didn't get anything special so couldn't see the full extent of her talents, but what she did was great. It is a bit expensive, but I would rather pay more for a good job than have to get something re-done.

My hairdresser was Selena and she did a great job, just a little bit rough with the combing, but apart from that I was impressed with my haircut. They had a number of clients coming and going and that's always a great sign. Its easy to get to and plenty of parking nearby and once you get there is very pleasant inside, all that you want a hairdresser to be, I mean they have places to wash your hair and seats so you can sit down while getting your lovely new haircut. Having previously used Toni & Guy salons for a while in the UK and also once in Kuala Lumpur, I thought it would be a sensible move to go to a brand I could trust whilst here in Auckland. Luckily the Auckland salon didn't disappoint. The girl I had, Vicki, was really attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted before making a start on my cut. She worked really quickly; usually my short hair takes around an hour and a half, but Vicki did the cut in little over an hour including hair wash and head massage and a blow-dry. The salon is modern, tidy and provided a great atmosphere and all of the staff I came across were really friendly. At $70, I thought the cut was a reasonable price and I was able to walk out of the salon pleased with the overall result. I am confident I will return there next time and would highly recommend Vicki.
