Effective results in a short amount of time!! I am so grateful to finally be pain free and have the freedom to not only resume my active lifestyle, but to also be able to go about my normal daily routine. For the past 8 months, I struggled to heal from lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and a neck joint that was out of place creating immense neck and upper back pain. Prior to being treated by Melanie, I was beginning to fear that I may never return to my prior level of functioning. I couldn't remember what it was like to turn my head without severe pain. I had resigned to the fact that simple tasks like running the vacuum or preparing a meal would always equate to pain. I had sought relief through physical therapy, massage therapy and chiropractic care- trying each healing modality independently and consistently, allowing time for my body to respond to the intended care plans. My pain level would decrease for a few days, but never for more than a week at a time which was so frustrating. My massage therapist recommended acupuncture to identify and address the root causes. Within the first 2-3 treatments, I had significant improvement: Pain had decreased and range of motion increased! Melanie utilized a variety of techniques that allowed for consistent and lasting relief, week after week. I completed a total of 6 sessions and never regressed during or after the treatment plan (this review comes two weeks after completing the care plan and am still feeling great!). We are from out of town and are in Salinas for the weekend for a softball tournament. I called Synergi for an acupuncture treatment late in the evening for a next morning treatment. Melanie agreed to see us this morning and treated my daughter. She was in a lot of pain and Melanie gave her an extra 30 minutes at no extra charge. First off, I rarely, if ever leave reviews on anything. However, Melanie has been so exceptional, I simply have to share my experience so others hopefully can benefit as I have. I had a broken toe for almost 5 months and no matter what I did, it was not getting better. I made an appointment with a podiatrist and got a second x-ray. According to him, after all of that time, it was only 50% healed. In desperation I sought out Accupuncture for the first time in my life. I came across Melanie at Synerqi Accupuncture, and made the first appointment she had available. Upon meeting Melanie, I found out she was a Registered Nurse. In speaking with her, I could discern right away that she was well balanced with her views of both eastern medicine and western medicine. She was not completely one way or the other. This was highly valuable to me. She took my overall history, and recommended several things nutritionally that would aid in my recover, as well as some things that would be beneficial for me to avoid, such as inflammatory inducing foods. Due to me having 8 total non-related surgeries on the effected leg where the broken toe is, blood flow past those injured areas to my feet and toes is not 100%. After her assessment, she recognized this fact, and recommended an herbal formula that encourages blood flow. What I appreciated about her, is she first made sure that it was okay for me to take with 3 of her fellow colleagues, who are educational professors, due to a graft that I had surgically placed. This was a great sign for me that she is not careless about her recommendations but truly wants what's best for her patients. Although she does not take insurance, most insurance companies now do recognize and see the benefits of Accupuncture, and therefore most of them do cover Accupuncture. Subsequently, Melanie is able to send super bills to you after each visit so you can give to your insurance company for reimbursement. This is what I did. I saw Melanie 3 times a week, for one month. After the treatments, and following her nutritional recommendations, as well as taking the herbal formula, my toe is almost completely healed. I wish I would have tried accupuncture years ago for other nagging injuries. In fact, I am now getting Accupuncture on 2 other areas of chronic injury, and I can feel my body responding so well to the treatments, less pain, and a noticeable difference in sensation upon feeling the injured areas. I now call Melanie, "My Healer." In all seriousness, she is absolutely astounding at what she does. If you are looking for an Accupuncturist, DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER, this is the one! After 30 years of repetitive use of my hands, I developed De Quervains in my right hand/wrist. (Inflamed tendon, that I just could not get any relief from.) The pain was excruciating to the point that I didn't know what to do anymore. I almost gave into surgery, until I started going to Melanie. She is beyond awesome! I have no more pain in my wrist and she also helped me get rid of my hot flashes, that I was having numerous times a day. She has help lessen my arthritic pain in my foot, as well. Where do I even begin!? Melanie took me in on the day I called because I was in sooo much pain. I had a horrible knot in my back/shoulder blade, literally in tears.
