I just want to update my review. I recently had surgery and the doctor and his nurses have gotten back to me so quickly and have been so wonderful helping me get on the right meds. What a horrible place When I walked in had a very bad gut feeling about this place but unfortunately I was in pain so I had to stay. They gave me lots of forms to fill out, had some questions on it but receptionist had no clue what it was so kept telling me to skip it. Then I was called to go to the back to see the nurse practitioner Orah Mahtove. I had to keep repeating myself that my pain was both knees and hips osteoarthritis and lower back disc pain. She was going to send me for cat scan which I already had informed her that it's on my medical portal or they could requested from my previous pain management office (Which I miss a lot) so she finally got my records, what a joke NP Orah was, had to keep repeating myself and she still didn't make the correct notes. I was told to go to scheduling to set injection appointment, wow so rude, no personality. Then I received a call from Radnet to set CT Scan appointment and they were asking for details, according to Radnet they didn't receive any detail info and it was only one hip. So I had to call the office few times to remind them it's my hips and knees, but since they wouldn't answer the phone or return calls. Oh yeah they have a sign that says text us it's faster, lol it's automated text that was asking questions that I already communicated during my first text. So I get my CT appointment, when I arrived, I tried to confirm again that it's for my hips and knees, but come to find out the NP Orah had send in only for my hips. I tried to call the office they said it will be discussed when I go in for my lower back injection. Injection day came, the doctor did good. Quick and easy. I asked to speak to NP Orah, but I was told I have to wait again for the phone followup. So I had to wait for 2 more weeks. Phone follow up, she was late over an hour, I had to call the office few times, finally when she called, I brought up all the issues that I'm still waiting for my Knee CT referrals and hip injections, which had no clue about them, she had to go get them, after she came back, rudely she commented that she will submit the authorization for the knee CTs and for an orthopedic to check my condition. She already has most of my CT images for injections but she is incompetent so she has to make me wait to go see orthopedic. I miss my previous pain management staff, this place is a messssss, should be call "long term Pain chaos". Finally I had to go to urgent care since I couldn't wait another 4 weeks for orthopedic NP Orah should go back to school and improve her listening, note taking skills, while at it human kindness. I wish I would've seen these reviews before accepting the referral for this place! I am usually a very patient and understanding person but this reseda office has been thee worst with communication, updating records, and following direction! I have messaged my provider through the portal (they say that and text is the "quickest way to get response") and haven't heard back regarding info I need for PT in over a month! The office/referral people have been messing up referrals and I clearly explain what's been going on and how to fix it and all they keep saying is; "we've submitted a referral and you're approved".....they keep sending it under my husband's name! I'm so over this place! I've been in so much pain for a long time and they can't even get the referral for epidural corrected. The front office is horrible, the young girl at the desk is beyond unhelpful. I arrived at 1:00 p.m. for an injection in my back and had not been seen at 2:11 p.m. . I explained that I had a car coming to pick me up through my insurance, total disregard. She said I could reschedule for July 9th!? It's a pain management office. If you are in pain and need medical assistance, the worst thing to do is wait a month before seeing a doctor. Yet this group asks that very thing. My referral stated severe back and neck pain. The Synovation office said, "We can see you in 45 days." My doctor was able to arrange a shorter time frame for the initial consultation but even then it was all about waiting. An epidural was scheduled for 20 days later. More waiting was in order as I arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait nearly an hour to get in. I was just getting up to walk out when called. All this for a procedure that took a total of 10 minutes. Enduring pain the entire time. Really, go somewhere else when in need of relief. I give them a 1 because Yelp doesn't offer 0. read more

Avoid this Synovation medical group if you can!!! If you need to go for pain management , ask your insurance to refer you to a different group. This officec is impossible to get on the phones.They were seven hours late for a phone appointment to help get me out of pain... They hate giving referrals for more things like an mri... The doctor I saw didn't bother putting a stat request on the epidural authorization knowing how much pain I'm in and It's very Easy for them to do that.It really doesn't seem make a great effort to actually get you out of pain. By the way, it's the 5th day since they were supposed to call me for that phone appointment to discuss a possible medication While i'm waiting for the epideral. worst place I've ever been sent to. they leave all the drug test in the bathroom for anyone to tamper with. said I tested positive for cocaine and some other shit I never heard of. i have never done drigs in my life. somebody swapped my urine in the bathroom. I took pictures of all the urine stacked up vulnerable to anyone tampering with. this is medical malpractice and hipaa violation. i have children. so to tell me I have illegal drugs is very concerning when I know for a fact I don't. Note: They DO NOT do physical therapy. I waited almost 2 months for my appointment just to find this out - what a waste of time! I initially called specifically for physical therapy when I made the appointment since I had a referral already. I was asked which location I preferred, I obviously chose the one closest to me but they failed to tell me ONLY the Pasadena location offers physical therapy. I believe they may have a call center that makes appointment so I hope for future reference they get trained or a list of services that each location offers. Overall, besides being a waste of time, the staff were extremely nice and courteous. The wait was about 45 min and my visit about 15 min. The office was clean with a good size waiting room. I'm horrible with names but the medical assistant to Dr. Agrawal was very sweet and so was Dr. Agrawal. The Dr. was very informative and attentive. If you are looking for Pain Management this may be a place to consider just keep in mind you will have to wait to get an appointment. read more

I just called to make an appointment for my husband who has stage 4 cancer and is in excruciating pain. My insurance provider referred them help prescribe stronger medication to mitigate his pain. The order was a stat order because of his pain level. I was told the earliest they could get him in was January 31st! Almost two months to get the first available!!! How is that stat!? They obviously have taken on too many patients in order to make as much money as possible! It's obviously not about helping someone in excruciating pain! It's about how much money can these doctors pull in! I'm so discussed with the take it or leave it mentality with the person attempting to making the appointment. Never expected such unprofessional and laissez-faire attitude. I called them to schedule an appointment for my mother, they scheduled it for Saturday (Nov 9, 2019). We showed up and saw a note on the door indicating that they had moved to a new location in Reseda. Since Reseda was not too far from the original location, I stupidly drove there. The building owner and the security guard of the Reseda location told me they were not open on Saturdays. Of course the whole time I was trying to get someone on the phone - all in vane. I sure had nothing else to do with my Saturday than to drive to God's forsaken Reseda from Hollywood. I called them the next Monday and left a scathing message telling them how uncivil it was of them to schedule us for a day they should have known they were going to be closed and not even bother to tell their customers that they had moved. Needless to say, I never got a call back. I shudder to think what their physical therapy services are like. One star for the note on the door. So thoughtful of them! read more

This bad review is because of one NP who works at Synovation, Orah Mahtov NP. My name is Kelita Bradley, I have been a patient of hers since 2021 I believe. I have arthritis in both my knees and both my hips, as you know arthritis is a disease that does not get better. You must go through a knee replacement, and a hip replacement in order for it to get better. And then sometimes you are still in pain after the operation, and you have a modicum of healing. ============================================================== For some reason, Orah Mahtov gave me an extremely hard time when it came down to getting pain medicine. For some reason, I think she thought I wanted to be a drug addict at 71 years old. I understand she's there to help me she caused me more HELL than help. ============================================================= I have a daughter who is blind and in a wheelchair. So I have to tend to her every day and take care of myself every day. You have to work out in order to stay strong at 70 years old or you lose your muscle mass. That takes pain medicine to help me every day, for a while. ============================================================= I also need to work, she refused to give me enough pain medicine so I could go through my day-to-day routine. My routine is not over at 5 o'clock. I still have to cook and take care of my daughter then exercise, and keep my house in order so it doesn't look like a pigsty. ============================================================== She was horrible to me she left on a vacation and left me without my pain medicine. I had to call Anthem Blue Cross crying on the phone and asking them to help me, they found a doctor and prescribed me my pain medicine, so I did not have to be in pain ============================================================= I'm supposed to see her every 30 days or talk to her over the phone. She made an appointment for me past 30 days, which means that I would be in pain after 30 days without my pain medicine. =========================================================== I had to call the management at Synovation, Molina is the manager that helped me get another doctor and write a prescription for my pain medicine. A number of times the manager, Molina had to find a doctor for one reason or another to write a prescription for my pain medicine. She is really awesome, and I appreciate her very much. ========================================================= Orah Mahtov treated me like I was a drug addict, not like a patient with a progressive disease that gets worse and worse. She told me last month that she was going to cut my pain medicine after I told her I just found out I had Osteoporosis, and all she had to do was look at the MRI or the x-ray because I definitely need to work out more to keep my bones strong. You need pain medicine to work out, especially if you have weak bones and arthritis. ============================================================== I left Synovation and Regal Medical Group because of Orah Mahtov treatment of me, she refused to help me. The chiro doctor is great. He knows what he is doing and knows what adjustments I need. The time you spent there is short. Negative- The receptionists never smile or greet. You have to get their attention to check in. They need to be more professional. At their desks, they talk amongst each other like they are in high school. Do not go to this pain management facility if you are having major pain issues. They had my approval from insurance for over a week and never called me. When I called to get an update they said it was my responsibility to keep calling them to see if they got the approval. Then they wouldn't let me make an appointment saying I had to wait for the person who schedules appointments to call me back. They said it would take 24 hours for the call back. 4 days later they still haven't called me. They mentioned that they were really busy, backed up and I would most likely have to wait for two months. I'm not even guaranteed treatment in two months because I still don't have an appointment! What kind of pain management facility is this? Why do they make it so difficult to even make an appointment? I would give a 0 if I could. Referred by my pcp. Drove an half hour to get there. Waited another half hour. Was met by an NP, Moskov, who spent a minute with me and said yes you need to come back for a session. Another appointment was made. This time seen by another practitioner/chiropractor, Lain, who again spent a minute with me and did an "assessment" and determined that I would benefit from acupuncture. He sent me out to make an appointment yet again to come back for treatment. How rude, disrespectful, inefficient and dehumanizing. I was in significant discomfort and not only did not receive treatment but left told to come back multiple times despite a high degree of pain. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT NOR AHOULD YOU. Practitioners are lazy and don't care. I'm still having trouble with this place, and I've about had it with them, including my doctor, Dr. Agrawal. She recently scheduled me for an epidural at the Simi Valley location for my post herpetic neuralgia, which resulted from a case of Shingles over a year ago. I just a follow-up appointment this morning after five more weeks of pain. She actually asked me what I wanted her to do! I told her I was interested in a relatively new treatment which I discovered on the internet, which is called a Qutenza patch, and is reported to have fairly good success. She told me she had already sent this to a pharmacy the last time I mentioned it to her, but apparently no pharmacy had ever received it. I made sure she had the right pharmacy, and actually had to help her find it on her laptop! When we found the right one, she typed something into the laptop and then told me she had sent the prescription electronically. I waited a couple of hours after the appointment and then called the pharmacy to see if they had received the order and was told that they had not. I then had to go that ordeal of navigating Synovation's menu and was able to get a hold of the office manager, who was helpful as she was the last time. She tried to get someone to answer the phone but was unable to do, so she told me she would leave a text message and/or a voice mail message for the doctor to try sending the prescription again. I checked with the pharmacy a little while ago, and they still did not have the prescription. As I said previously, I'm getting pretty fed up with this company as well as this doctor, and I'm starting to look for another provider. My appointment is not for another five weeks, so I still have time to keep trying to get through to her, but I'm not going to hold my breath. read more

This place is terrible from the Receptionist to the "so called" pain management providers. Ive provided undeniable medical documentation showing at multiple levels herniated discs: 12mm, 8mm and 2x 6mm, narrowing canals, stenosis. My pain is constantly and daily a 7/10 yet I was prescribed an over the counter supplement (A-Lipoic Acid) and a muscle relaxer (flexeral), lidocaine patches which none of them work. I called in for something stronger cus this isn't helping and I was told that's all they will do. Don't waste your time, find another provider!!! read more

Avoid this place...rude, unprofessional, my doctor was ok i guess but none of the people there could admit they made a mistake by making me come in without having my mri on file...i ended up waiting over an hour, having to deal with attitude because they made it sound i should have brought it..well you should have asked me to before you call me to book an appointment...they told me the situation was frustrating for them!!...what?..oh and for me who took the morning off work and is in pain...and had to pay for a visit that never happened..it s not frustrating at all, right?...so i left, rescheduled..and the second visit was let s say better. This is a mixed review. I really don't like posting anything negative, but how I was treated today is not to be believed. I had my first visit when the office was in Van Nuys. I really liked the Dr or PA,I'm not sure which. She was personable, very attentive and caring. I have had horrible sciatica for almost 2 years with no relief as of yet. She recommended an epidural. I was very hopeful that this would bring relief. My second appointment was for the epidural at the new Reseda office. The nurse and doctor seemed very caring and the doctor really took his time in the process. I don't want to say any names because the next part is horrible. Today I went for my recheck with the same dr. Unfortunately, the epidural did the opposite of what I was hoping for. I feel it exacerbated the pain that I was having. Well when the dr came in the room and asked how I was doing, I told him. He just sat there grinning. He proceeded to tell me that he had never heard or experienced such a thing in his 50 years of being a pain specialist. I asked him why he was just sitting and smiling, he then said my pain issues were not adding up, seemed off and made no sense. He completely dismissed my feelings and told me it's all in my mind and being that I worked in the healing field I should be able to heal myself. During our maybe 4-5 minute visit while he was reading my year-old MRI, he said that it showed I had a pinched sciatic nerve.Then 1 minute later he said my MRI didn't show why I would have any pain. Was he judging me and calling me a liar?I just don't understand what happened there. I have never had a doctor treat me so disrespectfully. Like being in a twilight zone. I had such high hopes going into his office that we would work together to find healing. This dr was basically laughing in my face. Why? Then he walked out telling to go to the first dr, he could not help me and said good luck in a very condescending way. Completely different that the first visit with him. I raved about him after I left the the first time. It was like a saw a completely different doctor today. I came in happy and left crying. This is not acceptable in any way shape or form. read more

I went in for a appointment to see the pain specialist after being injured from a car accident. I have waited along time and been seeking therapy to be out of pain and I am in so much pain nothing helps. The doctor I saw was rude and would not prescribe any medicine at all to help untill i can get a mri instead she wanted me to take a drug tests! I have never been there before , she was not prescribing any Medicine ( not even ibuprofen ) so I was actually offended by her asking me to take a drug test !!! I believe your supost to test patients who you are treating not new ones who are there for physical therapy referrals ( which she also wouldn't give ) Even tho I was honest about having pain Managment from urgent care and even have tried muscle relaxers with no help , chiropractors are not not even relieving the pain. Literally only thing that helps is prayer and a hot bath and ice pack ! ... this doctor was very rude however and I didn't trust her she seemed Unknowledgeable And I will not be going back ! All I wanted was a shot in my upper back to relieve the swelling. She didn't even think my back was swollen , even tho it clearly is and I've done xrays and going to be doing MRI , my primary doctor said I needed to be seen by a pain Managment specialist so I can have the right medicine while I'm waiting for the mri and treatment plan. **WARNING** If you deal with chronc pain - DO NOT accept care from this establishment! I was in a motorcycle accident in 2009 that naearly claimed my life and put me in the hospital for 6 months. Fortunately I survived! However, prior to my discharge, because of the nature and severity of my injuries, I was advised that pain would be a constant for me until I die. And it has been! After years of trial and error, I finally stumbled a medication regimen that worked and made my pain, to say the least, tolerable! I wound up in recent weeks seeing Dr. Jiang at Synnovation. And yes, HE is an attentive and amazing doctor. So I can only hope that his reputation isn't tarnished by this joke of a medical group! When Dr. J left I was seen by two drs that felt their ideology of pain being managed by theory and practicality was better than my already having found success in managing my pain! Ultimately I was taken off of my existing pain management regimen and placed back into the experiment stage of finding pain relief. No matter how I begged, pleaded and explained what was best for me, their ideology was all I was offerd for my health and well being. In then end, I was prescribed a medication that states clearly on the package: "DO NOT use for pain that can be treated with immediate-release medication". Also, further research of the medication revealed that it is not to be used with certain medications present in an individual's system. Medication that was JUST verified to be present in mine. Then to top it off, a phone call to attempt to continue care with Dr. J revealed that I had been discharged. Without notification. Without warning. Without reason. I called to verify the new address and what I needed..same as before just bring the referral and list of medications, day of my appointment called again just bring the referral and list of medications. drive 2 hours to get there, wait for about 20-30 filling out paperwork, get in and oh we don't have the diagnosis or doctors notes and you need to see this other specialist before you can even think of coming here...are fucking kidding me wow. the office staff is nice but the doctors have no idea what they're doing and do not review paperwork prior to seeing patients or when they receive the paperwork or even before making the appointment. that means my paperwork was sitting on someone's desk for weeks before anyone bothered to check what I was even going for. what a huge waste of time, if you need help with pain management because you're in a lot of pain go somewhere else, see someone else who at least takes their job seriously enough to glance at the paperwork before taking a patient. read more

Zero stars. I agree with all the negative reviews. This is maybe my second review ever but I feel pretty strong about my experience. Correct - front desk staff never friendly never go out of their way to say hi or make you feel welcomed. Yes they all chatter about personal stuff and when you walk in they look at you as if you're interrupting them. Each time I went same exact thing. 12 times. Each visit I would see if it would be different. Nope. The acupuncturist was ok. However, due to "corporate policy" the acupuncturist cut five minutes off my treatment. I asked why and he said because I was a minute or so late and then we chatted for a minute or so about my progress - he took five minutes off my treatment time. Really? Very strict on the allotted time for my session. So next time I didn't ask any questions. Is that right? You tell me. He did his job but never asked my progress or offer suggestions for other forms of treatment. Pretty much a machine doing his daily job until the clock said time to go home. Ate his snacks in the room while I'm getting treated too. I feel bad for people who work in these environments. Mundane. No enthusiasm. no effort. no real concerns of patients. My experience was just ok. I'm not mad because of anything that happen. It was just so bla, dismissive energy. Disconnect. When healing from pain - this is not an environment that is helpful. And if you're going to work with the public - front desk people should be more welcoming. But that is a management issue. Hope the staff reads this and tries to do better. Give people in pain some positive energy. Be the happiness in their day. At least say hello when they walk in. This is My review after 12 visits. Ask to be referred elsewhere! I had been here once before over a year ago. When I was sent back I wondered why I hadn't returned. Now I remember why I never returned. It was difficult to get an appointment. I was told my appointment would be with another provider in the office and although "in person" I'd be talking to a screen. My appointment was at 7am. I felt this was pretty early but took it. The elevators are gross and scary. When I arrived the receptionist was rude. She then informed me I should have been there at 6:30am to fill out paper work! I would have never taken a 6:30am appointment had I known! The receptionist very rudely and loudly compared me to the other patient in the office, who also arrived at 7, and said she was on time. She told me I'd have to reschedule. The next available was again at 7:00am, No Thank you! Or a month away. When I asked to check the schedule of the other provider in the office, who I had seen previously, she told me she can't check, everything is blocked. Her entire attitude was rude. If this is how the front office is, I do not want to experience the providers. read more

I made a huge mistake going to synovation medical group when I tore my shoulder. They do not return calls. They have made it near impossible to get a doctors note for work. They did not file the doctors note for my disability and did not contact me. I found out when I received the denial letter from disability. Synovation required me to have another appointment to file it because a month had passed since my last appointment. This took so much time that I did not file within the 49 day limit and lost 30 days worth of disability payments. I finally got my disability claim submitted and extended. Synovation did not fax my doctors' note to my employer. Now I need another appointment to get a note that matches my disability dates. I have had 4 appointments was never examined or received any care. Every appointment after the first was to sort out disability and doctors notes. Stay away from this place. I went to appt & I saw pa Elena who just let me have it telling me your not getting pills. Can give you subxidone. We just do epidurals,etc ranting at me. I left crying & told my doctor who called them. Elena told him I was biligerant,ordering, rude. What? Doc said they'd give me another chance & for me to do as told,last chance. What? I didn't want to go back but told there are no other pain docs who take medi-cal attached to my HMO. Went back & pa Elena yelling at me i not helping you,why are you here?why did you make appt to come back?on and on yelling. I said my doctor did. She called me a liar & said she'd check to prove I lied as she left. I was crying & left. I think they are on the list to take Medi-cal patients & do the one appt. With no intention to continue just to get the payment for the one appt. Never been treated like such trash in my life. I watched a couple unhappy people at each appt. Just complain & leave. My spine is messed up with deg disc,crushed nerves,sciatica,scoliosis, annular tear,smorls node, fracture in my back, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, etc. & the MRI's to show it all. Listen, I believe in love and kindness and joy, and I am a happy talkative friendly person, given the industry I am in. I visited this place yesterday, first time going to a pain clinic at all. I really didn't know and wasn't guided to the 3 appointments I had authorizations for (orthopedic spine doctor, pain management and physical therapy) I made the appoint for this place first and evidently out of order. I am more of a yoga wanna be than an addict. I take care of my body and quite frankly the opposite. I was treat so poorly by Elena Shostak. She never smiled. Never let me talk. I said something about not even be able to walk my dog around the block and she replied something like 'I don't care about your dog'. She spoke over me and even at the same time and I just kept talking. She treated me like an addict. Like I was just there for drugs. I had a 2" binder of paperwork, she did not look at. She was horrible. If you are in pain, trust me, there is no love here and this is not a place to heal. Do not even bother. So rude and angry and unhappy and no bedside manner. I am sorry, but I like to like my doctors and we all have a choice, state insurance or not. So stand up for yourself and remember you can find another pain management place. One that actually listens to your concerns and story of how you even got there. Causally and quickly, but not to be verbally abused and mentally abused by thinking I am some drug addict. read more

I was referred here by my neurologist and spine doctor because I have severe chronic pain & multiple injuries. I was seen by a PA Elana Shostakovich & honestly I have never been treated with such severe disrespect in my life. I ended up walking out with tears in my eyes due to being made to feel so stupid because I was asking for help. My doctors sent me in hopes they could find alternate treatments I didn't ask to come. Because I didn't want to automatically do injections I was talked to like I was an idiot and told there was no reason for me to be there. I researched this clinic and called in advanced and was told there were many alternate treatments however this PA had no interest in giving me options. I would definitely not suggest this clinic or at least this PA if you are looking for a true help. Treatment like this is why people don't get help and instead suffer in silence until they can no longer handle living with the pain anymore. read more
