This was a genuinely traumatic experience. I have written a very in-depth review on another platform. I believe they remove negative reviews, but my experience is very much in line with the other negative reviews re: the Boudoir Project. I went through with the shoot even after their website told me false information. (They claimed no purchase was required, yet The online form told me that the shoot would not take place unless I reached the end of their form to make a confirmation, yet it would not allow me to reach the end of the form without making a purchase). I found several other reviews from people indicating they had similarly been misled. I was wary, but gave the benefit of the doubt and went through with the shoot. It was truly a nightmare experience. I can't write everything due to character limits, but here is what happened: I was told I wasn't allowed to bring anyone with me, so I came alone. They directed me to do some explicit poses. When I told the photographer clearly and directly that I was not comfortable with one of the poses, she told me to just do it anyway. When I would refuse, she would just keep telling me to do it. It was very alarming to me. I was no longer consenting, just complying. One of the poses involved simulating something that starts with an "m". I felt very violated by the ordeal. The operations manager, Kelly, later indicated to me this is how they normally operate, writing it is how they "try to help push women out of their comfort zone". Bomshell's website claims "your comfort is our #1 priority", but clearly that was not the case. This is extremely disturbing to me, as consent cannot be pressured out of someone, and their whole business revolves around intimate photography. so insisting someone perform certain explicit poses when they have clearly stated that they are not consenting or willing to do so is egregious, especially considering that they keep the rights to sell or use the photos that are taken. In the photo review stage, initially the photographer Kelsey was the one going over photos with me. She told me we had to view each photo in turn, and she would not remove one of the photo when I asked. So when Caitlyn sat down to replace here, the first thing I said to Caitlyn was to remove that photo. Caitlyn snapped "NO. That one stays". She was not joking, because she would not remove it for several minutes. Again, this was very disturbing to me; as they were not actually allowing me to choose the photos. Eventually I told Caitlyn I would only take one photo (the promotion said there was one free photo), but she would not accept this. She seemed irritated and said "lets just calculate the price for them all", and pulled out her calculator and calculated the cost of all the photos. Caitlyn began pressuring me to finance four photos with affirm. I kept refusing. Caitlyn resorted to directly commanding me to apply for financing, commanding each small step along the way (as in "take out your phone. Go to the app store. Download Affirm. Open it." etc). When Affirm rejected me, she commanded me to apply to paypal. When paypal rejected me, she wanted me to hand her my card. I didn't have a car, so if I tried to run, I couldnt garauntee I could get away. A few times, I unlocked my phone to try to text or call for help, but noticed whenever I did, they would stare at my phone screen; so I couldn't do it without them seeing. I was always surrounded by either Caitlyn / her employees / her non-employee "friend", Leslie. It was a deeply traumatic experience, and I believe my safety was at risk if I did not comply. I signed the contract (which was just a checkbox on a digital form - I was hoping I could just write "I am not signing" instead of my signature, or cross things out to invalidate it and give myself time to escape, but since it was just a checkbox, I couldn't. I stared at it quite a long time. I the end, felt I had exhausted my options to leave safely without signing; I only signed for my safety.) AFTER the contract was signed and Caitlyn had used my card, Caitlyn asked "I didn't pressure you, did I?" in a sort of tee-hee voice. I was afraid that if I said yes, they might command me to sign something else stating it had been freely signed. The fact she asked tells me that indicated she knew what she had done, and I believe waiting until after the contract had been signed was intentional, as Bomshell and the operations manager state that they never give any refunds at ANY point after a payment is made. They are not honest, and not safe. I ended up making a complaint to the NY Attorney General's office. They keep complaints forever, and when a new complaint comes in, they compare them to the old ones to look for patterns. Edit: I received notice from Yelp that *someone* complained about my review, yet it does not violate policy so it is staying up. They can try to come at me legally for my review, but they'll lose, as what I have written is true. read more

I was also baited into believing I had been selected for a 'free' boudoir session. I was told a $199 "refundable" deposit was required to hold my spot, informed It would be refunded on the day of my shoot. Come to find out it is not refundable, Had a chat with a woman about my session, after she talks me up for 20 minutes, she casually mentions there is a required purchase minimum of $1600. ("portrait guarantee" as they so eloquently call it). And I've already secured my spot, and the info was NOT clearly communicated to me beforehand. There's nothing wrong with their pricing. There's plenty wrong with multiple women's reviews feeling tricked with this bait and switch, shady business approach. I'm eating the deposit and canceling my session. I do not wish to be associated with a company like this. So disappointing. Seems they do beautiful work, but the business 'promo' feels really shady. I'm clearly not alone in this experience. ***addendum*** I was informed because I was selected, I was exempt from the minimum purchase requirement. Be careful with this business. While they do good work, they'll take you for everything you got and tow the line regarding what they can legally do. Just booking with them is 199 dollars which if you change your mind (even a minute after), won't ever get back. Let's also not forget the fact that at minimum (Disclaimer - this is what I was quoted), it's 199 dollars just for ONE photo and I was also quoted a package with 8 photos for around 1700 dollars (Yes, One Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars for 8 photos - that's more than what they quoted for one photo!) Don't let their "sales" bait you into booking with a non-refundable fee. At that point, they force you into a commitment for at least 199 dollars that you'll never see again unless you follow through. Ultimately, the message is, ensure you get an idea of what the final price is before agreeing/paying anything or you may walk away with nothing and a lighter wallet. read more

If anyone is unsure if the other one-star reviews on here and other sites are true I can assure you, they are. This business has a very misleading and shady practice going on recently, which feels very much like a scam. Just like the other reviews I was told I had won a $699 boudoir session for free. Then when I went in to book it told me I needed to pay $199 to reserve my spot. There was no mention that this wouldn't be refundable and even an implication that it would be. There was also no clear indication of the price for picture other than a statement that suggested average price people put in. Only after paying the $199 was I informed the lowest price for pictures is $1600 which is way beyond my budget, had this been clear I would have never signed up. Then, when I tried to cancel my session and get my money back, I was told the $199 was nonrefundable because it was a prepayment. However, it wasn't a prepayment for anything when I paid it only after. On top of all of this they didn't answer my call and only wanted to text back. Then, the person I was texting with seemed to intentionally misinterpret my text and seem confused at my issue. This is a completely unacceptable practice for any business much less one that claims to be empowering. I would think twice before using them since if they are willing to advertise a way to make boudoir "more accessible", then scam people out of $199 without telling them the real cost, and finally try to pressure them into the session anyways what are they not willing to do? read more

Where do I begin? I saw a what was introduced as a competition for 15 women to win a free package worth $699 so I put my name in figured why not I'm a combat veteran and I thought maybe it might be something fun to do since I I'm not that confident about my body since becoming a disabled veteran they ask for a $199 ' refundable' deposit however the refund comes in the form of a credit once you go to your session however, the cheapest package leave was either $1500 or $1600 of which I could not afford at least not for photos and that does not include the rights to the photos except for maybe I think five or eight I can't remember. It's not a large number when they make it sound like they're going to take hundreds of photos Fast forward to the phone consultation where I found out how much the base package was then I learned that I had mandated training on the day that my appointment was scheduled. I had already not really wanted to go to the appointment because I felt uneasy and scammed by these girls , but when I explained to them about the mandated training for my job they told me I could reschedule for a small rescheduling fee of $100 after already paying the $199 to just book the appointment at this point I'm likely just going to cut my losses and lose the $199 since I don't feel safe going to Any establishment with owners that have dishonest business practices such as theirs I prefer genuine trustworthy people had I read the yelp reviews prior I would've never booked however, their Google reviews say they have five stars which I'm not learning you can remove and their Facebook doesn't allow reviews which lis another red flag I should've paid attention to I'm not saying this is not partially on me since I did not come here first to read these reviews. I instead trusted a female and business wouldn't scam other females. I was in fact incorrect that is exactly what they did. read more

BomShell Studios Google Review What a fun day !! I drove 1400 miles to have Cait at BomShell Studios, do my boudoir photo shoot! With her reputation and the testimonies from many, I knew she was the one!! I did it for myself to help me see that "I AM beautiful". Cait has the gift of bringing out and showing you, your own beauty! I worked on doing this for 2.5 yrs and was so nervous. That was until Cait met me outside upon arrival and Cassidy worked her magic on my hair and makeup. All my nervousness started to melt away! I'm still in awe that I looked so (am), beautiful! I, like many of the other poor reviews, feel I have been deceived by the $199 promo of a boudoir session. They should be upfront and clear with people about the potential financial commitment of this promo. I wasn't aware of the commitment until I paid the non-refundable deposit. As another reviewer mentioned, they don't tell you, that you don't have to spend the minimum of $1600 for the promo session if you don't want to. It just means you will have to take time out of your day to take photos you'll never receive. I didn't find that to be worth my while so I cancelled. If they had been more upfront with their payment structure and what is included, I would have considered staying. However, I find this to be extremely shady especially considering plenty of other women have the same experience. AND they delete negative reviews which warn of this exact issue. read more

Completely amazing staff and business! They throughly explained the entire experience and cost of images during a consultation call after I had booked my session online! I was nervous going in as this was a gift for my husband and totally out of my comfort zone. When I walked in they immediately made me comfortable and relaxed! Caity (the owner) was so fun! It was really cool that I had a chance to view my images that same day. Even when I changed my mind and spent more on images they were so accommodating with having an in house payment plan! I loved my session and can't wait to book another one!! read more

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. Mislead you to believe you won a "Bomshell Boudior experience" giveaway, take a $200 deposit to secure your appointment then say there is a $1,500 minimum purchase of a album(that I immediately said no to but she kept saying how I should do something for myself, yuck). What regular person can afford this? After asking for a refund and explaining that I wasn't prepared to make a financial decision(the day before my coworker died by suicide) the manager Kelly laughed at me while I was crying and said I'm not a good fit for the experience. They are making me come in for a session in order to get a refund(after taking them to small claims court to try and get almost $3,000 back and receiving nothing) and they are ignoring me completely. When registering for a contest, there shouldn't be a refundable $200 deposit. That is just ridiculous. Especially for my friend who is a first time mother with limited funds. That's literally the reason why she entered. So now, you got the hopes up of a woman who has post partum depression because she entered a contest, won, and was told she has to pay to secure a day for the photoshoot. Make sure you don't go here because she just CRUSHED this woman's hopes to try and make herself feel confident after having a baby. read more
