The wash was INCREDIBLE! My stylist, whose name is escaping me right now, was very thorough and checked in often to see if temperatures and pressure were good. The style itself was very much like the photo I showed her, and the owner, Sam, followed my stepmom's instructions very closely. My stepmom loves the style- and she's very hard to please so it's a big compliment. I took off a point because I didn't see any stylists use any heat protectant at any point, which worried me a bit. There's also almost an excessive amount of hair spray on both of our heads, although I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Every other customer in there seemed to be really enjoying themselves and seemed to really like the staff, which is fair because they're all very nice. Please be aware that they are CASH ONLY! I didn't know that until I was there. It wasn't an issue for us, but that's the only form of payment they take.

I had the Liscio Japanese straightening treatment done on my medium-length coarse, wavy hair. After having had the BioIonic Japanese straightening treatment done 15 years ago, a Brazilian blowout done in '22, & Keratin treatments from '22-24, I decided to go with the Japanese straightening treatment because of the permanency, resistance to humidity, & ease of styling. I literally wash my hair, a quick blow dry & maybe one pass with a flat iron & I'm good for a week. As a mother of a two-year-old, it makes me feel like myself/put together, but does not take time away from my daily routine with my son. I'd rather be spending time with him than standing in front of the mirror running a flat iron through my hair endlessly. I did my research to see who currently offers this treatment here in Richmond. I found three places: Flirt Salon in Cary Town, a salon in the West End that requires a deposit paid at the consultation BEFORE scheduling the actual service (what the heck - they only have one person that does the treatment there, so if that person were to fall ill or get injured on the job, you would've wasted your time and perhaps have to lobby for your deposit back- no thank you!), & then a third place that had very poor reviews. I reached out to Vada, she communicated with me to answer all of my questions and I felt very confident about getting the service done with her. I consider it an investment and wanted to make it worth my while. I have high expectations, I knew exactly what I wanted, and I notice every detail when it comes to my hair. She exceeded my expectations. Vada is not only professional and highly skilled - she's been doing hair for 30 years - but she is also very personable and genuinely cares about her clients. It was a great experience from start to finish. I'm absolutely in love with my hair. Vada is wonderful and I can't recommend her salon enough.

And, as a woman of a certain age - I will tell you that I have very little patience for wasting 4 hours in a salon. I believe that time is valuable commodity that we can never get back. But, what the hell! We were on the eve of 2018. I wanted a new "do"! I decided to brave the storm and take the plunge into salon world. A friend of mine recommended this place to me - and let me tell ya - her hair is always flawless!! So of course, I was excited about my journey. But, when I arrived for my 1:30 appointment, the young lady who was doing my hair was chatting and looking at Instagram with her customers. It probably was a good 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged. So that was the beginning and it kinda went that way the entire time. There were only 2 other ladies ahead of me. It wasn't busy at all and, sadly, I didn't leave there until 5:30. It was a little ridiculous. My hair is "finger snap" short. So, it really shouldn't have taken any more than 2-3 hours. My stylist was nice enough though, but super chatty and not at all concerned about timeliness. I really liked the young lady who shampooed my hair and I loved the products they used. At the end of the day, the cost for my afternoon was $97, plus tip. Guys, there was so much to tell, but I'll spare you the details. My poor husband got an ear full!! Chuckle. That said, my main issues with this place were: 1) Time was NOT of the essence; and 2) They were a little unprofessional. I probably won't go back. I'm back on the grind - trying to find the best salon for me. And if not, back to the curls!!

It's like a little spa, which was nice has very comfortable chairs for you to sit in. You can almost go to sleep in there so relaxing while you get your haircut time to cut my hair though the time had been to close her doors she made sure my hair was cut perfectly to a tea for haircut and trim she spent 45 minutes on me alone that was not even washing my hair at the end. I walked away happier than I ever could be! The owner who did my hair she took great pride and what she does highly recommended and will come back every time and won't go anywhere else after this time , and they're not overpriced like all these other salons
