I have been to nook nosh three times now, all three have been on a Sunday afternoon. Nook Is a…read moresmall/mid size bar with a friendly, unpretentious vibe and well worth a pop in for a few 'sips' (you'll get it when you check it out) and 'eats'. Whilst the wine list isn't mammoth they have however some thought into it so you are bound to find something that takes your fancy...... And it's defiantly growing. They also offer a range of quality beers and spirits. I was pretty surprised how nice the food was (small tapas plates, best shared with a friend) considering how small the kitchen area is. The fit out and look of the bar is simple, effective and smart. Small touches of hooks underneath tables for handbags/jackets is something I always look for and I'm happy to report that have me covered! Another thing I always look for is how the toilets are presented and I have to say considering the size they are fitted Very nicely and have great little touches like awesome handcream. Despite being more on the casual side of things what does blow me away about Nook is the fantastic service that we get every time. The owners (I assume) work the bar and also do the table service, and they do a fantastic job. Striking up conversations with customers, giving off a great vibe and most importantly offering a new drink as soon as your current one is dry. I'm not sure what the other days are like (love to read another review) but I'm pretty keen to make a visit most Sunday afternoons for a couple of drinks with friends.

Hole in the wall bars seem to be popping up everywhere but most ooze pretentiousness but Nook Nosh…read morehas a clear mandate to not be pretentious or snobby. We popped in on a Sunday night for a quiet drink, it ended up being a really quiet drink because despite the live entertainment the place was not very busy at all we ended up being the only ones left at 8pm. The drinks (sips as it is titled) menu isn't extensive but it has a little bit of everything including wines, spirits, craft beers and ciders so you'll be sure to find something that tickles your fancy. We came after dinner so we didn't try any of the nibbles menu but it looked good full of cheeses, small goods and the like. The service was friendly and attentive, always coming to ask if you want another drink once your glass is empty. Unfortunately its location means it isn't prone to lots of passing traffic, its more of a destination but hopefully it gets a good reputation and picks up (or maybe we just visited on a slow night) because it has the potential to be very cool.

The theme is based on the tale of the flying trunk. The cocktails are delicious. We had the salted caramel star and the so flute. I loved the little pretzel star in the salted caramel. They also serve tapas food. They also serve tapas food. We had the pan fried gnocchi with artichokes, and the buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes. Mmm! The prices are pretty reasonable as well. The cocktails are $17 - $20. The tapas is under $15. We also had a lovely conversation with the owner evi about the design of the place. I'd love to come back again on my way home from workies :) Nothing much more I can add to what Karen F had commented, both Adam & Evi are great hosts. Very attentive and explained both the cocktails and food very well and enticed us into trying them. Enjoyable evening.

I have only been here for a wine and cocktail so far but this place really adds to the quirky little shops, bakeries and cafes that are popping up on KWR! Fast and friendly service, combined with some unique concoctions and names of cocktails means you will spend most of your time there deciding which cocktail you'll get when you next return. The Elephant Espress is on my list to try next time. If you are like my other half though and think cocktail is for cordial drinkers then never fear - the wine and beer list is for quoffers and swirlers alike. These guys take their booze seriously and I am definitely signing up for one of their monthly "tasting flight masterclasses" in the future.

Unfortunately they don't have a private function room, but they offered the back end of the bar for us, which wasn't what I was looking for but they were very helpful and accommodating to what I said I liked and wanted etc. The second time I came here was a Sunday night with a few of the girls. We decided to have a couple of quiet drinks and to splurge on a cocktail. I chose the Snickers cocktail which was delish!! It cost about $16 but it was huge. That night Sunset Bar wasn't overly busy and there were a few very drunk girls making fools of themselves (but I guess you can get this anywhere), but apart from that the location of Sunset Bar is great, it's got a large bar and plenty of seating and dance floor space. You can also sit outside on the Marina side or beach side. A perfect summer spot!

We came here for a couple of drinks and this bar is the perfect place for it. The wine list is nice with a a good amount of options by the glass and a "wine of the month". There's a good selection of craft beer and cocktails also - I had the snickers one which was amazingly delicious. We also tried some wedges which were perfect and crispy. I found the staff really helpful and friendly (although maybe it was because we were mainly served by a bearded bartender and had an equally bearded friend with us!) and they cleared our empty glasses really quickly which was good as we had limited space on our table. My only complaint was that the live music on the night was way too loud, it was much louder than the normal music playing over the speakers and forced us to yell at eachother to have a conversation. Note: They also accept paywave and credit on bar.

However if its atmosphere or class you want give it a miss!! The decor is drab, the seats worn and the carpet threadbare. If you want a beer after work in your overalls this is the place to be. The other half is made up of 50% pokie room, with some limited outdoor seating mainly for the smoking rules. The room is large, bright and noisy with all the pokies being busy! The other 50% is the Bistro. I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The menu is as any other bistro menu and has all the faves. The main selling point of this bistro though is the extensive salad bar included with all meals. Not only salad but also, soup and breads, veg, fruit, sauces....as much as you want! The bistro also includes 4/5 games consoles...im guessing to keep kids occupied. As said earlier...i haven'f had a bad meal here...its not 5 star by any means but it is far from the worst!!
