I essentially want to hear just to stop as I have passed it many times coming from Toledo to Chicago, and I was not disappointed I definitely walked away spending a couple hundred dollars. It's not as big as the other TJ maxes you're familiar with if you're from a bigger city but it's a well-stocked nice little one with plenty of things to choose from. Parking is weird as there are a ton of stores around it so you'll probably have to walk a bit. You can walk in the store with your dog in your cart....i know this because i did it. I've had to cool down before I wrote this review. I was in the check out line on 7/2/2020 around 3:43 (per receipt) I watch as a customer collapsed on the floor. The person she was with asked a associate (young male blonde) if he could have a water. The associate spoke into his lapel walkie talkie and walked off. He passed a cashier and said "some girl over their passed out". Several minutes later, a crowd is gathering around the girl and no water has been given and no associate insight. Finally the man with the collapsed female started asking everyone for water and help. Finally I said "I cant stand here and look at a case of water and let her die". " I will buy her a water". I reached in the case and grabbed a water. Gave it to a lady who walked it over to the man in need. I was next to check out. I bought the water and left. This TJMaxx failed all their customers. Just to disregard someone who needed help is absurd. The entire team needs to be retrained. Whoever the manager was, needs to be investigated. I've never seen such heartless staff/people read more

I can generally always find what I want, at a price that is great, at TJ Maxx and the Mishawaka store... is no exception. The have a great selection of clothes, handbags (Michael Kors, Juicy, Coach), shoes and they are my go to place for luggage (get designers like the always funky Betsey Johnson, classic Diane Von Furstenburg or the travel staple Samsonite). Surprising to most... they have a vast selection of home decor and small furniture pieces and the prices are outstanding for the quality. I've been to this store about 6 times since relocating to the area and every time it's been clean, well stocked and not too busy (though I've mainly gone during the day, mid week). The only downside is the slow checkout process. The checkers are a little on the "not in a rush" side and when I'm done, I just want to be done and out. But... it's a small price to pay for getting such great deals! read more

Mishawaka Store-I was in the store today for the 1st time in which seems like forever since Covid hit. I was in need of a purse fix. I always use to go their to get my Michael Kors purses, jewelry and etc. To my disappointment there was none today and when I asked what happened they told me they had no clue that they just don't get them in much anymore. Well there has to be a reason, probably Covid. I just hope not all stores are like that or I am going to be devastated. read more

I usually like T.J.Maxx- but today they royally PISSED ME OFF! I bought a wallet here 6 or 7 months ago. The wallet I needed to replace I carried LITERALLY for 10-12 years! I bought a "Columbia" brand wallet that had some fancy stitching on the outside, because the inside was very similar to the wallet I was replacing. 3 or 4 months later the new wallet was coming apart at the seams, literally falling apart! I was in Florida at that time and now that I am back in Mishawaka I went into the T.J.Maxx where I bought the wallet and very politely asked to speak to a manager to see if T.J.Maxx would stand behind their products for a very loyal customer. (I probably shop here almost once a week) I asked for a manager and "Nick" (a coordinator) (???) walked over instead. Long story short, "Nick" said since there wasn't a brand name on the wallet that he couldn't do anything for me without the receipt. The wallet only had the "Columbia" geometric logo with no wording. So I left. Flash forward about 2 weeks, tonight I was in T.J.Maxx and I saw a very similar wallet with the same logo and blue tin box my wallet I purchased 6 or 7 months ago. I politely asked for a manager and "Liz" walked up. We had a 5 minute conversation where "Liz" tried to cleverly blame ME for the piece-of-junk wallet falling apart... -I had too much stuff in it...(I'm sure I have FAR less stuff in my wallet than "Liz" has in her purse!) -I shouldn't have bought one with stiching on the outside because according to Manager Liz "those will ALWAYS fall apart!" ...(and yet T.J.Maxx continues to sell these knowingly defective products???!) -I should have found a T.J.Maxx in Florida and returned it there... -Again with the TOO MUCH STUFF IN IT! I explained to "Liz" that I had asked for a manager a couple weeks ago and some guy with a stocky build and a weird haircut had talked to me. "Liz" informed me that no such manager worked at T.J.Maxx. Eventually, "Liz" agreed to replace the faulty wallet (fell apart at the SEAMS!), which is all I wanted! I wasn't asking for money back! I just think a wallet should last for years, not a few months! I went to the register and "Liz" had left the new wallet with a cashier who called "Nick" (The Coordinator)(???) up to the register. I ended up standing there another 10 minutes while "Nick" (The Coordinator)(???) found a price for the new wallet. As he was putting my new wallet in a bag "Nick" (The Coordinator)(???) looked at me and said "If you have a problem with this OR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS in the future, you should probably contact the manufacturer directly because they will be able to help you more than we will!" What I heard was, "We don't want you back in this store if you're going to want to return defective products!" So, the end result was the same, they DID exchange the wallet. But they chose to give me a hard time first! T.J.Maxx. could have said "Oh, we're sorry you're not happy with this purchase- let us exchange that for you!" INSTEAD T.J.Maxx said - "Yeh, we'll exchange that for you- BUT FIRST OUR MANAGER AND OUR COORDINATOR ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU A TRUCK-LOAD OF CRAP AND PISS-OFF A LONGTIME CUSTOMER OVER $12.99!!!, HAPPY THANKSGIVING, YOU TURD" The whole ordeal was a huge hassle and I was very ticked-off by the time I left. As I was leaving, "Liz" walked back up to the front end area just as I was walking out the front door. I actually turned around and walked back into the store to tell "Liz" that the guy named "Nick" was the person I spoke to a couple weeks ago. "Liz" informed me that "Nick" was not a manager! Touché!!! ... You GOT me "Liz"!!! I asked for a manager and "Nick" walked up, somehow I'm STUPID for thinking he was a manager!!! "Liz" did her best to make a defective product my fault- and "Nick" (The Coordinator)(???) did his best to let me know I wasn't welcome in T.J.Maxx. Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la! read more

This is a great tj's! It's really big, stuff is organized, the fighting rooms are clean and tidy, there is always enough staff at the check out so you don't have to wait long. They have a wide selection of pretty much everything. read more

Maybe I just came at a bad time, but I didn't find anything good during my last trip is rare. I can't think of the last time I entered a TJ Maxx and came out empty-handed. I shopped in the juniors clothes, and the racks seemed more empty compared to other TJ Maxx's I have shopped at. Hopefully I will find something during my next trip. read more

This store is definitely a hit or miss. Sometimes I find so many things and other times I walk out with nothing. Love their kids clothes section. I always find something for both kids. They have really up'ed their hair and make up products. I always find awesome hair products for good prices. read more

Yesterday, September 13. Check out took forever. Sign says some registers were closed to aid in social distancing, but did not make sense because available/open ones were right next to each other. Just an excuse to only have 3 cashiers open. Probably 12-18 people in line waiting to be serviced. Noticed most of the employees were senior ladies (I'm 66 and most appeared to be at least 10 years older than me. Seriously!) and moving very slow. More people were in back of the registers sorting and could have been helping customers. I didn't feel store wasn't being run very efficiently and certainly will not go back if I have limited time. read more

When some people think of T.J. Maxx they may not think of much but T.J. Max is a store with many awesome finds. T.J. Maxx on the surface when a person walks in looks like a generic department store as far as the layout, but it's one of those stores you have to look very closely at the merchandise in each department other wise you'll miss out on a lot of hidden gems. T.J. Maxx carries different designer/name brand items as well as unique decor and other items that can be very hard to find in other stores. Especially for the price they T.J. Maxx gives you!! Some of their clothes in the clothing department are generic brands but they have sections that are name brands. If you want to find the hidden gems at T.J. Max the best places to shop in the store are in their food, accessories, jewelry, and bath/body departments. For starters their food/snack department T.J. Maxx has a lot of imported, gourmet and unique exotic foods that I've never seen at anyyyyyy other stores. One time they had truffle butter, and macarons imported from France and Italy!! Cool. Also T.J. Maxx has a beautiful unique selection of jewelry from some designers such as Betsy Johnson etc, along with a great selection on luxury soaps. And even their home decor dept has really cute items. But the down side is they don't always carry the same merchandise. So that means if you see something you really want.... you better buy it right then and their because it may NEVER be there AGAIN!!! T.J. Maxx and the management don't know what items come into their store, or what companies or exact products from those companies are going to arrive. The management just stocks whatever they receive. It's like opening up a gift on the holidays. You know it will be good you just don't know what it will be. That's overall how T.J. Maxx is. I do highly recommend this T.J. Maxx over the other one located on the Ireland rd in south bend. The other T.J. Maxx doesn't have half of what this one has. Overall T.J. Maxx is a reasonable, nice place to shop. read more

I have been a loyal customer for over 19 years. I have always had good experiences except for today. In the clearance section, I found a PJ top that was on clearance for $16 from $16.99. I found the identical PJ top WITH bottoms in the regular priced section for $16.99! I asked if there had been a mistake marking down the top (no bottoms) only 99 cents cheaper. The supervisor basically brushed me off and said that she could not make any changes and said that the employee who did the clearance pricing thought it should be that price. She didn't check her computer and said the set with the bottoms was a better deal. I only wanted the top though as being a petite woman, the pants were over a foot too long! I left the store disappointed as to their lack of customer service! I think I will shop at the TJMaxx on Ireland Rd from now on where they do care about their customers and are much more friendly! read more

I have been coming to this TJ Maxx since it first opened many years ago. I used to come here almost twice a week for many, many years and I used to purchase a lot of things for the house and clothing but as time has gone by it has become harder and harder to find quality items for the home and as for buying clothing it has been a very rare occasion since I have bought anything from them. The men's dept. has gone down hill drastically and I have filed complaint after complaint with their home office and I get no replies from them. I counted racks the last time I was in the men's vs women's and there was 7 racks compared to almost 40 for the women's side. Not only do they have more clothing but they also carry shoes for women not for men. They carry more jewelry, a section for bags and purses, body lotions shampoos and etc. I get that men may not shop as much but I do and as of late I have had to go to the mall to buy clothing and spend a whole lot more than if I had choices here. The clothing they do carry are for teenagers or guys in their early twenties. Their tee shirt and underwear selection has gotten bad but their sock selection is good. Every time there is a season change the men's section is always reduced never the women's section. I'm not sure who is running this company anymore but there is an obvious prejudice against men because this is the way it is at all TJ Maxx and they should be investigated for discrimination. The commercials also do not feature men and if they do it is a quick shot of one used as a prop for the women in the commercial. This store has gotten so bad in the last few years they should start closing their doors. read more
