But, the receptionist was so accommodating and easy going, changing things around (I was a right nuisance as work keep changing meeting times so I had to keep changing my appointment around. Then there is the dentist, told her how petrified I am of the dentist, she was an angel and I actually left the chair quite prepared to book my next visit with a smile. She also noticed a small hole in my tooth that my last dentist has missed for the last 2 years! She fixed that straight away! The hygienist is no frills says how it is and gets on with it, a little brutal, but I tell you what, my teeth were immaculate afterwards and felt brilliant. I am also getting my teeth whitened, and they have split the cost over the course of the treatment so I didn't bankrupt myself. I made the boyff go along and have his check up, as he hates the dentist and kept putting it off, and when he came home he was also really up beat and asked me to remind him to go again in 6 months! So, all round, for a business that normally sends shivers up my spine, a really great dental surgery and one I would recommend for dental, cosmetic or advice.

And so, nearly a decade went without me paying a visit to the dentist. They're scary. DRILLING noises can be heard. The only time I want to hear drilling noises is outside my house at 7am, and even then that's not a good thing. But, when toothache started making me cry, it was pretty obvious that I wasn't going to get by on tea and sympathy. Of I walked up the massive hill to here (they're NHS after all), I signed a form and then popped back again the next day. Up the horrid hill AGAIN (seriously, it's steep and about a mile long). And then these things happened... Mr. Dentist was cute. Mr. Dentist was friendly. Mr. Dentist told me I would be fine. Mr. Dentist didn't laugh when I cried (really, I did cry). Then he gave me drugs. Really really good ones. All for £16.

Was very easy to schedule an appointment for the following week, arrived and was seen within 15mins so not too late for a dentist! the clinic looks as though it is either new or had a refurb because walls, carpet and dental equipment all looked very new or clean. I really hate the dentists who ask me to come back and see the hygienist with two exquisitely inconvenient week day appointments. I have also had a filling replaced at this surgery. I made an appointment with B Dental for a check-up due to a great toothache on February 22nd 2022…read moreand got received by Dr Ryan for a check-up. During the appointment, Dr Ryan inspected my teeth and took some scans where he could see a cavity in between my premolar and molar on the right bottom side but couldn't tell me what it was. I mentioned the really painful toothache and said that I needed to see a hygienist and a periodontist and that after the hygienist appointment, the pain would go away after 1 week or so and that I quote 'shouldn't loose sleep over it'. I asked for antibiotics and/or painkillers and was told this wouldn't be necessary. I was charged £109.50 for this appointment where I got nothing except from the referral to the hygienist and periodontist I got my appointment with the hygienist 2 days after and only managed to get an appointment with the periodontist for 1 month after (29th March). I had the appointment with the hygenist where she spent an hour cleaning my teeth, not mentioning anything and was charged £131 for this. The following week, the pain kept on intensifying and as I wasn't told anything, I kept on taking painkillers thinking that the pain would go away but every 4 hours, the pain could come back and up to my ear and down in my neck and back - it was becoming very difficult to sleep and the pain was insufferable. I called reception on 3rd of March to try and understand what could be done and if I could get an emergency appointment with the periodontist. Following my call, I was prescribed Amoxicillin and a fluoride toothpaste without context that I went to get right away. I called again 4 days after (7th March) having started the antibiotics as the pain wasn't going away and I was struggling to work at all and I needed to see a dentist right away. I was suggested to see Dr Ryan again but due to the poor diagnosis that I got during the first appointment, I refused and decided to visit another practice. I managed to get an appointment the next day to another practice where in the dentist did exactly the same as Dr Ryan, took some scan and examined my teeth - he found out that I had fractured my lower right premolar and that I had a cavity and an infection and that I needed my tooth to be taken out emergently. He also noticed that I had two cavities on my left upper molar and left bottom molar - something that both Dr Ryan or the hygienist at B Dental failed to let me know of or gave me the options to have fillings. In the end I had my two fillings and my tooth removed the next day and given Augmentin as Amoxicillin was apparently too weak for this type of infection. I paid £240 to B Dental for them not to be even capable of telling me that I had two cavities and a potential infection/facture of my tooth and I would like to be compensated as I had to spend another £150 on an emergency dentist appointment as I wasn't treated properly the first time.

I tried to get an appointment with them for urgent treatment for this but they said they couldn't do 'general dentistry' and could only do the work that my NHS dentist had referred me for so please do be aware of this if you are an NHS referral. I then had to make the decision to cancel the implant work as I was looking for a dentist I could work with to get all the work I needed including dealing with issues other than the planned implant work. I had posted a more detailed review here but was forced to remove this as B Dental instructed lawyers against me to take this down. I was in my honest opinion very disappointed by this treatment and if I could have afforded to fight this and instruct lawyers to defend myself I would have done. Such a shame it turned out this way as the dentist was fantastic and I was so looking forward to getting the treatment.

Good, professional, and friendly service…read more Chipped a tooth for the first time in my life last night. After a few minutes of panic, and convincing myself I was not in a crumbling tooth dream, I started doing Google searches to figure out what to do. In the midst of this I ended up clicking on a Google Ad and being directed to a "24 hour" dental place. Turns office in my area is not 24 hours, so made an appointment for the morning. After I finally found the hidden location, I walked into the dingy office and the receptionist curtly told me they did not show customers the price list, and would charge £25 just to tell me how much they would charge. Luckily I happened to pass by Malmin on the way. The office itself was clean and professionally maintained. I popped in and the friendly receptionist patiently answered my many questions, let me take the price list, and could quote me a price, and agreed to waive the new patient fee since I this was going to be a one off procedure. The prices were better than the dingy hole-in-the-wall, and she could offer me an appointment the same day! The dentist and his assistant were equality friendly, and showed concern for my comfort throughout the procedure. Dentist seemed quite skilled. He explained that he intentionally under-filled the chip since it was was in the front that that would protect it a bit. Also said that if came out he would replace it (once) free of charge. At the end of the procedure he showed care filling down the filling and making sure it felt good to my tongue. I was in and out in 30 minutes, with my tooth restored. Although I will miss that little chip. RIP little tooth piece.
I have never got why people get scared about going to the dentist…read more From the age of three I used to go to Kings College Dental Hospital. Initially, slightly shy about letting a stranger look into my mouth (I am told) my parents would bring me here while Dr Smith a very amiable and calm dentist would count my teeth, give me a sticker and off I went home. I doubt this is common practice but it worked for me and since I have never had a problem with going to the dentist. The hospital deals in paediatric, orthodontic and specialist dentistry. It is run by the NHS so advanced booking is necessary and the time in the waiting room is by no standards brief, but the dentists here were always fantastic throughout the many years I was a patient here for. Excellent with children, excellent in what they do and thankfully I have not had a single problem with my teeth since.

It was a long time before I received…read morea letter with an appointment date and time (which could be changed on calling them, but I didn't need to), but apparently it takes up to 6 weeks for them to contact you after a dentist referral. My letter was followed by an automated voice message to my phone a few days before - reminding me of my appointment and asking me to confirm that I would be there. On the day the waiting time was minimal, the staff friendly and really put me at ease. I had an Xray (you have to remove all jewellery around the area - earrings, necklace etc, however I have a lip ring that I have never removed and they just worked around it). They provided an easy to understand analysis of my wisdom tooth situation, and the procedure I would need to go through, and said I would probably need another, 3d, xray scan to know how the tooth sits, before the surgery. A few days later I received my letter asking me to book my 3d scan appointment, which I did, and I arrived on the day and went straight in for the scan. Again, I could not remove my lip ring, and neither could the scanning staff, so they worked around it and it was fine. I am currently waiting for my letter to book the surgery itself. My rating will perhaps change after that! Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, efficient appointments (minimal wait!) Cons: Having to wait for letters to be able to schedule appointments - it creates a delay and a phone or an online system would be much easier! Scanning staff not being able to help me remove my lip ring haha.
