Very disappointed with Barbican Dental Care in Canary Wharf. I am 31 weeks pregnant, and rang to confirm if they provided free dental for pregnant woman, as I've been there before I thought it would be easier to go there instead of a NHS run dentist. On ringing I was informed yes my appointment with the dentist was free, but I would still have to pay to see the hygenist, which I said was fine and asked for the price, then asked to be booked in.
On completion of my appointment I was then charged for the full amount. I was rather annoyed as I DID ring to confirm, and was told that I would not have to pay for the dentist appointment. I was rather upset, as I felt cheated, and all the reception could say was, 'you've visited us before in January and paid then'. Yes obviously I wasn't pregnant then!!!!
I was very upset with this service, and do not think I will be using the Barbican again. I wish I had recording of the phone conversation that I initially had when I booked in, but unfortunately it's my word against them, so paid the full amount. It was not a lot of money, but the principle. Maybe if I was told initial that I had to pay, I would of still agreed to go, as I am familiar with the surgery.
I guess just be aware. read more
