I have seen the…read moresame dentist every time I have visited (usually every 6 months as I have a problem with my jaw) which is great; continuity of care is a rarity in the NHS and it makes so much difference to me to build up a rapport with medical professionals. The receptionists, my dentist, and all of the nurses who have assisted with my appointments have always been lovely. Especially my dentist who I trust implicitly always has time to explain things to me on my level and lets me jump around to see my X-Rays when they are taken (yearly, as standard NHS preventative care) as I'm always curious to see (I study human biology). The practice offers both NHS and private care. I have used both services and I have always been very pleased with them. The building itself is very nice - quite newly built (or refurbished). The waiting room is nice (although you might want to bring a book) and the treatment rooms are really very nice - all the mod-cons (as far as I am aware!) and much nicer than several other dentists I have been to. I usually opt for early morning appointments as that usually guarantees you will be seen with the least delay (I forgive them in the evenings if there's a bit of a wait - I assume my dentist cares for each patient individually and provides the care they need be it on a shorter or longer time than allocated (15mins per patient). I would recommend to everyone and anyone in the area. I always leave my dentist happy that I've received VIP treatment.

As it was just across the road, and my wisdom tooth was refusing to stay submerged, I went over to pay her a visit. She turned out to be even more of a good character than I originally thought. After explaining to her what the problem was, she not only made me an appointment, she also gave me loads of tips on how to try and fix the problem myself. She obviously didn't tell me to take it out myself, she just offered cleaning tips. I don't exactly know what other dental nurses/receptionists are like, but I'm sure they aren't all as nice as this one.

I am a very nervous dental patient, but I felt reassured at this practice at my first visit. The…read moredentist was friendly and professional; she cleaned and polished my teeth and answered the various questions I had. I had left my last practice partly because the dentist there had been keen on removing my wisdom teeth even though they were not causing me any problems (the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence recommend not removing them unless they cause pain or problems with other teeth). I asked the dentist here about mine and she quoted the guidance at me. She also answered my queries about gum recession and flossing. It seems a good place so far :)

In fact I prefer to travel the distance just for the excellent quality of care offered at Marian Lewis. I have never felt more comfortable in a dentist's chair. I've always been very anxious under the drill but I found myself falling asleep while the drill droned and carved my crown. What impresses me most is the extremely high level of professional care; the cutting edge technology the teams work with; their knowledge of new and innovative treatments not yet available in many UK dental facilities; and their genuine care for my personal well-being. The facility is clean, comfortable and comely - not your clinic-cum-NHS feel. Clients are often given small dental gifts to take away to help them maintain good post-treatment hygiene.

Calm atmosphere, beautifully clean, modern equipment coupled with professional, caring staff really makes one feel confident that you are in good hands. These guys care about their clients, remember your name and work with you to find the best and most affordable solution. I wear dentures (resulting from a misspent youth) and Marion Lewis has helped me to understand my what my options are clearly and I didn't feel any pressure to pursue a particular solution. EXTREMELY rude receptionist! ( there are actually 2 of them one was nice but I only spoke to her…read moreonce! The other, I have NO WORD) I even cancelled my treatment because I didn't want to deal with such aggressivity. Completely unhelpful but besides that major attitude problem! I can't believe s.o would talk to customers the way she does. To the management: please have a word with her or replace her! You will lose business if she keeps that aggressive attitude. Ps: I suspect any reviews with positive comment about their reception is actually written by her!
