I called Terry at Appalachian Electric and made an appointment for this morning (today). He was very thorough in diagnosing the problem and installed a ground box that made the line even safer! Now my post light works, and if the metal lamp gets a lightning strike or otherwise blows, it will stop at the ground box and not in the house! I would highly recommend Terry and his excellent assistant for any type of electrical problem you might have.
