I come to this T-Mobile to lease a phone I have all my information, I have all the money to pay, and the willingness to wait over 30minutes to even get acknowledged before they tell me I'm next in line. When I finally get to talk to a person and give them my info I'm told that my ID doesn't work because one of there employees put 4 names under one person for a authorized user. I gave the benefit of the doubt because people have off days and I came back the next day. When we see someone this time they tell us that our bill needs to be paid but it can't be done in the store, and when we come back later after the bill was paid I was told that "You need to have a phone to trade-in in order to lease a new phone" which just isnt the case (as a former employee at T-Mobile and talking on the phone to someone who's currently employed) On top of the frustration of being blatantly lied to (which I should add we had asked the day BEFORE if we needed the old phone to trade in and were told no by what I can only assume was the floor manager because when asked about the slow business he said he only had two employees working that day) the employee thought it would be a good idea to talk about switching shifts in front of me because he doesn't want to be there until 8:30 which the employee working with me replied "fuck no" This is not something I'm unaware of as T-Mobile has a bad reputation when it comes to there customer service but this was unacceptable when I'm willing to spend 100s of dollars to just lease a phone and it seems there incompetence had gotten in the way. Good Job T-Mobile! Edit: I went the next day and got the phone with no issue and without a trade in at the Steinway T-Mobile, highly recommend just taking the walk there for better service. read more

I came in to the store with some visitors from Germany, who needed help with a SIM card they had already purchased in Germany and their need for some type of a router thing so that all their mobile phones could get internet while they were in the US. I'll admit that when I first saw this store I thought it was a waste of space. I figured a nice restaurant could prosper in that spot along 31st, but then I realized there wasn't a T-Mobile store in sight anywhere, making this a real necessary transition for the Ditmars area (and T-Mobile customers). The place is clean and almost overly spacious to where they have layout issues with making the store look like there is more to do. The employees that I've encountered there all seem like they're too bored to work. There is a nice array of phones offered here and that alone should entice lots of would-be GSM worthy customers. read more

I recently needed to pick up a disposable prepaid phone and visited this location which had only been open for about 3 weeks. As a result the store was fairly sparse and the majority of the employees seemed inattentive. There was one fellow who took notice of me and offered some help. Although I already knew exactly what I was looking for when entering the store, he did do his best to assist and answer any last questions I had prior to purchasing. The activation process was fairly straightforward and he did run through some basic instructions for use. The customer service here is atrocious. The TMobile rep put in the wrong card number for my CC. Despite being charged for the upgrade, as shown on my bank statement. Now I'm experiencing an ordeal to get a refund for the phone case which was ordered and delivered to the store--defunct. Horrible service. Makes me want to change service providers! read more

A new store that has replaced our beloved thrift/gift shop. They hired such geeky boys to work at the T-Mobile in my old neighborhood. I'll try not to let my disdain for T-Mobile color this review. But I hate T-Mobile and only joined so I could hook up the sidekick that was given to me for my graduation but boy am I glad that contract is nearly over because ... hello?! worst wireless plan ever! So one star off because I will forever associate T-Mobile with disappointment I've been to other stores and had less than stellar interactions with the staff there. I do not appreciate being ignored. Here I was instantly greeted. Maybe because I looked like I was running things in my heels and pencil skirt? I don't know. My charger had stopped working and I needed a new one. Just for home because I don't drive so what would I use a car charger for, "In case you end up in a friend's car one day with a low battery." The staff member said to me. "Right ... that won't happen." So he went to the back to look for a charger for me. I was thankful for the effort because I think he knew they only had dual home/car chargers but he saw that I deserved the effort of double checking. So I was stuck with the dual action for 5 bucks extra and I made my way over to the registers. The two employees there were discussing technology of which I had no interest in and I waited just a touch longer than I would have liked to be served but that's what happens when you deal with geeks. I asked if there was something I should do or a certain way I should store my charger to prevent wear and tear and they honestly replied that there was nothing to do to really prevent it. what a total difference compared to the crooks at costco on vernon blvd as the tmobile staff on steinway explain evertyhing in simple form so a moron like me understands the whole process. i stopped by on a saturday evening with about 30 minutes till closing time and the tmobile guy whos name i dont recall was very helpful installing my cuzs sim card into a new samsung phone and the whole setup took about 10 minutes as the phone number / account number stays the same. all his info was transfered to his new phone which includes useless pics of boring places and pics of a scary looking lady who may be the future mrs rasheed. the phone cost me about 220 bucks and samsung are fairly decent reliable electronics and also got cuz a phone cover with fuzzy flowers cause my dude loves flowers which is a bit weird i think. overall i had a decent simple easy no stress visit to a tmobile store on steinway and now cuz better delete them wacko pics . read more

Staff can be extremely personable and kind, depending on who you get. Look out for restocking fees. It's better than the one on Ditmars which is a complete rip off. There's a difference between Tmobile and Tmobile limited (got to be a smart consumer) read more

If you are a business owner, go to TMobile and this location at your own risk!! I was a victim of fraud thanks to an overzealous former sales associate of this location named Francine. Francine scammed me and now I am stuck with $1600 bill that does not belong to me. She signed up a former employee of mine to a brand new plan and iPhone (even though he had bad credit) using my tax ID from my paperwork...illegally!! Former manager of this location named Nick condoned such practices and pushed for such illegal actions because their end goal was to open as many new accounts as possible. The staff at this location cleaned up their act and there's some good people that work there right now but the highway robbery that I suffered thanks to these grimey salespersons would make me give them negative 10 stars if I could. Avoid TMobile if you are a business owner at all costs, unless you want to have your credit go down the drain! read more

I have never written a review before...but felt that I had to after encountering teh wonderful customer service at this t-mobile store. "Augustine" was the sales rep that i dealt with and I must say went above and beyond to not just explain every detail to me about my phone but also help improve my plan so that I pay less. He dealt with me (and everyone else in the store as well) with so much patience and not once did he get frustrated! he helped me with my micro-sim card and made sure all teh features in my phone were working. It wasn't what he did ...it was how he did it! If we could have more hard workers like him at all our stores! read more
