the service was good and I ended up getting what I wanted. I was given a number to call them back if I had any difficulty with my phone. They were very helpful and a lot better than the Carphone Warehouse. read more

That meant I had to deal with SO MUCH MORE hassle than if I had just calmed down and gotten a normal phone. But ohhhhhh nooooooo. It had to be the iPhone. Because once you have it once, you can't ever have anything else. The people who work at this O2 shop (and most others, I imagine) got a special degree in JERK, because I have never been served so much attitude in my life. It took no less than 3 visits to this place before I actually left with a phone and a contract. O2's policies are effing strict. I'd like to say that first month was worth the wait, but not having a phone when you've just moved 6,000 miles away SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

They don't keep an especially large range of phones in stock, but can order items in if necessary. Ok, so I clearly didn't like this place. Here's why:…read more 1. They don't talk to you unless you sit down at one of their stations. 2. They (and I kind of understand but it's still VERY annoying) always try to sell you stuff when you just want some simple information. 3. They break the law. Er.. hello. What's this? Oh yes. Not to get too anecdotal or anything, but that is kind of the point here... I got a Nokia 6300 here and the new small charger broke within two months. When I took it back they checked it was the charger and not the phone but still said I had to send the phone and charger to the manufacturer for repair, which would take two weeks, and didn't offer any replacement, or even an apology. So I bought a new charger for £15. When that died after 27 days (I'm being specific for a reason), I took it back with the receipt to be told that as there was a Nokia sticker on the plug, they didn't sell it to me. When I said, 'Here's the receipt," they said the charger in my hand wasn't the charger on the receipt. I asked for the manager but he was on holiday. So when I went back two days later to speak to him, he said that I couldn't do anything because the 28 days after purchase were up. I went through the obvious and still got nowhere. When I waved the Consumers' rights laws, which I had downloaded from the government's website, they finally gave in. But still not without the, 'I'm doing you a favour,' line. So now I'm doing Yelpers a favour by saying STAY AWAY. But the best thing is I don't let it bother me.

I took a deep breath, walked in and was helped immediately by Denzel. The process took about 25 minutes, but was entirely pleasant. I basically knew the plan and phone I wanted and let him know as much. He took care of everything else, made polite chit chat and 25 minutes later I was out the door with a ready-to-use, fully functional, United Kingdown iphone5. Denzel, thank you. For restoring not only my street cred...but my faith in any telecommunications company in this country. Well done, sir...well done! This branch obviously gets a bit nuts, but not overly so.
