After many years of procrastinating, in December last year I finally decided to get my first…read moresmartphone. I have to admit that the thought of having a phone with no buttons kinda made me feel a bit barfy (still does if I'm honest!). Anyway, I chose my phone and set out to Carphone Warehouse as they had the best deal. 5 mins in store and I was done. Roll forward a few months and I wake up one day and my phone doesn't switch on! I experienced a horrifying dose of reality when I realised I felt completely disconnected - apparently once you go smartphone you're either plugged in or barely exist.. So I trotted straight back in to the store on Argyle St. They were great - my phone was fixed within an hour, with no hassle and no charge due to manufacturers warranty. I was happily on my way with a warning that this happens all the time....... And it has - power button has been wonky for a few days so I went in again today. My experience was exactly as before - staff were pleasant and fast (and the other staff doing sales seemed very informative and not particularly pushy). An hour later and I'm a happy dude again :)

Ok, so my experience of EE during a recent upgrade has been poor. MEGA POOR. But there's a guy in…read morethis shop who is excellent. In fact, generally the staff in this shop are pretty good and know what they're doing. The same cannot be said for all EE shops, particularly the one up in Buchanan Galleries which is chaotic to say the least and has burning halogen lights that you could make toast under. Not a pleasant shop to endure. Long story short, I got an upgrade from a company who I thought were EE, they weren't, I cancelled it the next day, and then two months later, I was still waiting for it all to be sorted out, all the while being on a new unsuitable price plan, and with no new handet. The EE call centre, who are utterly hopeless, repeatedly failed me through security, so I had to come in to the shop. I'd had a total melt down on the phone to EE on the Sunday, so it took me a few days to steel myself to go through it all again in the shop. The assistant manager, Scott, immediately made the decision that he wasn't going to pass me to anyone else, but that he would sort it out for me. We were in the shop for almost 1 1/2 hours, while he spoke to various depts in the EE call centre, and the external company who I'd take the phone from - Get Connected/Upgrademymobile - don't go near them. The man has the patience of a saint. I would have been spitting chips but he remained calm and collected, and just battered on through it. He really was excellent. Another long story short - today I've been informed by Get Connected that the new contract has been cancelled, although I don't quite believe it yet. I'll go into the shop to check. Scott had jokingly said to me while we were enduring the mammoth rigmarole with the call centre 'hey you'd better get your upgrade from this shop after all this!'. I'm hesitating about this at the moment as, despite being an EE customer for 18 years, yes 18 years, I have been so disappointed in the service from the call centre that I just don't know if I can bear dealing with them again. The competence and attention from the employees in this shop is the only thing that will convince me to stay as an EE customer. So I'll go back in and see how that works out.

From all the phones I have had, Orange make being with them a joy, they definitely got it right with Organge wednesdays. This store was where I went when I lost my Blackberry. Sadened as I was the shop people gave me a few options of what I could do next: either barr all outgoing calls and still keep looking for it, order a new sim card and use an old phone if I had one, or pay £70 for a replacement phone and be enlisted on their insurance service. Well I waited and waited and looked and looked then ordered a new phone, then found my old phone. AHH. So I went back in with the replacement phone that I hadn't even opened yet, and they were very understanding and spent a while on the phone confirming the reactivation of my old phone for me. I couldn't ask for better service and I never even had to spend a penny.

This box fit all the items and they packaged it up for me and got it shipped so I didn't have to make another visit to the store, in the rain. All three times I've been in, everyone was friendly, happy to help, and very efficient and timely. Highly recommend this place, they care about their customers which isn't always the case other places!
I really need to stop dropping my phone. Luckily this place is just along the road…read more On the Finnieston strip, there are at least 4 places where you could get your phone fixed. I normally go into a couple and see what prices they're charging me and what the chat is like. These guys have been good for me so far. Last time I dropped my iphone, the screen smashed into at least twelvity billion pieces. They replaced it and put a proper glass screen protector on. This time when I dropped it, the glass screen protector worked - the screen didn't smash, but the whole screen detached at one corner, meaning that the slidey slidey didn't work, so I needed a new screen anyway. Took it in, job done. They're quick - they had that done in an hour. Plus they're helpful. I mentioned that it was super annoying that I dropped it as I'm due an upgrade next week, and they gave me a bit of chat about which iPhone to upgrade to, or shock horror, even to consider a Samsung! So I now feel armed with information for making a choice about upgrades. One thing I would say is watch out for the prices. I honestly think they just make them up. They will come and go with you though so it's worth asking, and also worth comparing with other shops in the strip too if you want to be thorough about it. When I have my new shiny phone soon, I'll be back to this place to get a glass screen protector put on, and also to GET A PROPER CASE THIS TIME! Apparently rubber is the way to go.

They took my phone and did not want to return it to me until I pay. I asked to call the owner. The owner came and told me that there is no solution for me and offered to pay with 50% discount, but I denied this offer as my phone was not working properly which means I have to repair it in another place again and spend more money. The owner eventually returned my phone to me with my original broken screen ( it was more broken than before) and they said that if I am not happy with their service the only thing they can do is to take my written complain and send it to owner personal email. (Which did not guarantee me anything) so I received my phone with broken screen but it is not working anymore - screen is just black. I am not able to use it and they did not installed it correctly. So to summarize the situation- I came to this shop with fully working phone but with small crack on the screen and received it fully smashed with not working touch screen (just black screen).

The location is very handy, close to loads of transport and central!! As soon as we asked for assistance, a very friendly girl came over and helped us out. She immediately told us about a bundle deal, where basically you get the console (for the normal price it is everywhere...) and a wee accessories pack free...and there are cheaper games (premium and new titles) should you chose to buy them at that point. The accessory pack had a wee stylus (the Wii U game controller is a huge thing with a touch screen and buttons etc, so this is a great wee bonus for NO MONEY!!) a screen protector for the controller screen and a pouch to keep the controller safe when not in use...FABULOUS wee extra!! The staff member then showed us where the pre-owned games were, there was a good selection! Him Indoors had a rewards card, so she happily put the points on there for us and explained that the points don't register for 24 hours, again, helpful!! He spied another game he liked the look of so asked her to put it aside whilst we went to look for other bday pressie stuff elsewhere (we ended up not going elsewhere, but she had already set it aside for him, so it was available ready to go at the till.) I did everything online, so I hadn't yet experienced the woeful customer service that o2 has. There are so many days that go by that wish I had stayed with Giff Gaff and left o2 well enough alone. Since I paid for everything with my bank card online, I was told by a member of this location that I would be unable to make payments with any other card except for the bank card I used and I would have to contact o2 on the phone to switch payment cards. Being American, I have a savings account with my American bank that has a chip and pin that I would like to use, and they flat out told me that they don't accept the American card. That's funny, since it has a Visa logo, and as far as I know, that's accepted basically everywhere. I went online to chat with a service rep about the same thing, and they agreed that I would have to call to have my payment changed, but that they wouldn't be able to accept my American card. Not only that, but I surely miss Apple (my old phone was an iphone) because any little problem I had with my phone, Apple stepped up to the plate and fixed it no questions asked. With o2, I have go through hoops to get anything done and everything that has needed to be done has taken so long to do, it's almost not worth having any sort of communication with them what so ever. Unfortunately, I signed up for a 2 year contract so I'm stuck with o2 for a while. Steer clear of o2, their customer service is rotten both in store and online. They're not worth your time.
