We paid an $11,000 deposit on this $26,000 bid and they told us they were about 6 weeks out. There was a brief discussion of canceling a few weeks later but we never fully canceled our order and absolutely never canceled in person, verbally or in writing, it was crossing our mind after how the business was handled, we felt uneasy about the entire process. Today, roughly 5 weeks later, we received a hand written letter stating that they closed their company 30 days ago and they hoped we could find it in our hearts to forgive them as they gave a refund check of $5,000. They charged us $600 more than we agreed on. They didn't finish the job after we paid them. They left a big hole in the drywall where the old stairs were. We had to hire someone else to finish that. They also left the landing area unfinished. They said they consider that to be flooring and that they don't do flooring. We to had find matching material and had to hire someone to do that as well. We ended up paying over $1000.00 more after the fact. Beware of this company. We never got a paid receipt from them after paying in full. I emailed and called several times and I still have not received it. Dealing with this company was nothing but pure frustration Tim Ortmann called me back only one time to rudely point out to me that I didn't need a paid receipt that I have my my credit card receipt. I explained to him that we sold our house and the title company requires a paid receipt and lien waiver for closing on our house. He refused to issue our receipt and hung up on me.
