Fair pricing, owner is creative and not wasteful with your money…read more Our bathroom toilet was installed poorly and with no seal, it leaked into our kitchen. The kitchen looks nice with how they expanded our work space but the cabinets they installed are junk particle board n with water prone areas, they have blistered, cracked, faded and drawers fell apart. Getting them to come back or help fix the cabinets has been unsuccessful after several calls and texts!

This post is for anyone that is looking for a contractor that they want to trust!…read more I think I figured it out. I want to tell you about our journey. So, just finishing up two bathrooms: our master bathroom and a second-floor hall bathroom, that share a wall. The hall bathroom is approximately 8x10 and the master bath is 10x10, 100-year-old Mt. Lebanon home. The Hall bath is original mud set. So, started the process two years ago and my wife and I struggled to find a contractor. Our primary goal was "peace of mind." We wanted to find someone that had vision, did quality work, and would give us options that would fit within a reasonable budget. And, honesty, after a while, all the contractors start to sound the same...."tell us what you want." And the prices were sometimes hard to fathom and while our initial goal was $60K for both bathrooms, we actually had bids in the $90-100K range. Crazy. After almost losing hope, I was introduced to Jeff through a friend that I could consider "exceptionally meticulous," lol, or picky! And the fact that this friend had nothing but positive things to say about Jeff meant a lot. Look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. What you need to know is that Jeff is onsite and a hands-on contractor. He also has a really great team. He is SUPER meticulous and thinks through obstacles as they arise. When you are opening 100-year-old walls, you sometimes come across surprises and obstacles. I was so impressed by Jeff's vision and how he would thing through these challenges. Further, he has a very strong "design" sense, as the project moved forward, he would bring up ideas to improve the beginning vision and they were always great. As an example, our walk-in closet shared a wall with our master bathroom and now we have a new second floor laundry room/walk in closet. It has changed our life! Jeff's estimate did not change aside from add-ons that made sense as the project progressed. His labor costs were mid-point to our bids and while we went over budget, it was our choice because of the materials we chose to use. And why am I posting all this, you might ask? I've been in sales my entire career, and it's my fundamental belief that when you identify true, trusted professionals, you help them. The last thing I will say about Jeff is that you can trust him. He cares about his reputation and wants to see his customers thrilled. He is responsible and will diligently work on your project until it is done. He gave us our "peace of mind." My most recent experience was not in the surfacing products, but attending a charity event at The Kitchen by Vangura. It was fantastic! The venue lends itself to walking around and seeing various displays for cooking, food, prizes, vendors, etc. The space is beautiful. Looks like Kitchen Central on a high end cooking show. This event featured several local chefs in a cooking competition for charity. Vangura staff are also friendly and hospitable.

We wanted to cancel our order since we did not like any of the granite that they showed us. They said we that it would cost us $500 to cancel. We had that in an email from them. Then later they said that it would cost us $1,800.00 to cancel. We ended up having to file at a local magistrate office. They made up all this hours they claimed for showing us different granite slabs. They also made up a excel spreadsheet saying they tried to call us, no actual phone records. When it was us calling them for our money back but only getting a response when we said we will take them to court. The local Magistrate ruled in their favor in North Huntingdon. We got our granite from another supplier which asked for haft down and the balance when we were satisfied with the completed job.

She was very patient, very knowledgeable and super helpful in the process. She actually even had a sample of the floor we chose and a white cabinet that we were able to put up against the slabs to make sure it all worked together. The gentleman that came to do our template was so friendly and detail oriented. He took his time to make sure everything was perfect and answer any of our questions. We were able to go back to Choice Granite and select what sections of the slab would be used and where. You could tell the pride they took in their work and were so dedicated to getting it just right. The install day came and the install team was fantastic. They were efficient, professional and very friendly. Everything went smoothly. The finished product is awesome! You can tell just how much time they put into make sure everything was perfect. The backsplash lines up perfectly with the design on the actual counter etc. They were a true pleasure to work with and I'm so thankful that our contractor took us there!

Their work was excellent. The template guy was thorough and accurate. Fabrication was completed on the day they promised and the install team was punctual. They took care not to damage any of the rest of the house during the install process. Worth noting that due to an error on my part, they had to make a second trip to install a part of the countertop. Pricing was reasonable given the scope of work we requested, which included substantial hand-prep for the hearths (curved to fit the fireplace). The install techs are pretty quiet, but I'm paying them to install countertops, not to talk my ear off. They were certainly professional and the install was perfect (incl a seam that was flawless). I can't speak to the old reviews here, but I had numerous interactions with the office staff, the install manager, and the team- everyone was professional and courteous. They delivered exactly what they said they would, and the price I was quoted.
