As for adult bikes they have the full range. This massive store is filled with aisles and aisles of bikes, they are even hanging from the rafters. First class advise can be had here too as you'd expect. I find this New Lynn Bike Barn really friendly and they know their bike stuff. Only issue is the name Rouleur - it always takes me about 5 goes at typing it in to google to get it right :-)

I took the Cruiser for a spin, and I was surprised how easily I could tackle the hills around Torbay; all the pleasure of cycling without the pain. The bikes look and feel like normal cycles, but they give you a boost when you need it most. All styled with either retro or modern looks, these bikes are a lot of fun, and at under $3000.00 they are expensive, but worth it. Being a bike geek, I had a lovely time drooling over the amount of carbon and shiny bits and bobs on display even though all I really went in for was some accessories. I nearly walked out with a considerable dent in my wallet but managed to side step the advances of a clued up shop assistane. If you are serious about your riding then Bikelab has a lot to offer, but if you are looking for a general day to day city run about at a bargain price you should probably look elsewhere. At the time of writing they were having a massive bike sale, with some real bargains to be had.

Bikelab is pretty pricey and the few times I've been in there I found some of the staff members to be a little stand offish. They certainly have some really really nice bikes though. Their Cannondale bikes are really pretty and I'll openly admit that I get a bit googly eyed every time I walk past the place. I also like the way they push cycling as a culture, organising group rides and mechanical instruction sessions for those interested. Those kind of things make a good bike shop. I just wish the place was a little more accessible.

They have a comprehensive range of road, mountain and hybrid/city bikes prodiminantly from the Giant brand (bet you didnt see that one coming did you?!). They also sell some Wilier road bikes on offer as well as some non Giant branded clothing and accessories. They can do some pretty detailed bike fitting on site and their workshop is well stocked, neat and tidy. They were setting up a bike while I was there are they were going into lots of detail to get the perfect fit. When I was there some of the staff were shouting and laughing loudly across the store, which was a little unprofessional, particularly as there were quite a few customers.

When did I get so old and behind the times? Scooter Pro caters to hardcore scooter enthusiast and the rich parents of children with only the best scooter parts and accessories. I've never seen such a comprehensive scooter store before. The service was a bit bored, like the staff had better things to do, which I'm sure they did as I was mainly interested in the art on the shops walls. While scooters are in vogue, this is the place to get neon wheels and matching grips. If I'm ever accosted in the street by someone with a scooter emergency, I will know where to direct them. Now if only funky roller skates were to come back into fashion...

They have such a large variety of not only sporting goods, but tons of apparel and accessories. I missed the Black Friday sale, but when I went in at the beginning of December, they had a massive sale of 40% off on all Puma clothes and accessories. I got a plain white sports hat that retails at $35 for like $20! Major score. I was super drawn in to the tennis section and the boxing equipment, but I regained control and stuck with just what I needed this trip. The customer service was great and there were employees everywhere willing to help. The store was organised and easy to navigate. I had an easy time getting around, finding the perfect hat, checking out and being on my merry way. Thanks Rebel for a great shopping experience!
