Swimming is free for children during the holidays and all year if you are 60 or over. They seem to have lots going on during the holidays for children so it is worthwhile visiting especially if you want some time to your self.

Penlan Leisure Centre has good facilities, including a well equipped gym, sport hall-nicely new…read morerubberised surface for classes and badminton court hire etc.,plus a 25 metre length pool and children's pool and a jacuzzi. It's a busy centre with lots of classes both in the pool and dry activities running all year round. The pool can get very busy, particularly when there are classes running, so it's always worth checking timetables on the Swansea.gov.uk site to avoid(or join in a class). On the negative side car parking can be tricky at busy times and the changing rooms can suffer from needing some extra attention as well.

This is a lovely place, great to take a walk on a summers day. Its amazing over the years how much…read morethis area has changed. There are a small few car parks around which are mostly pay and display so have some change on you. The area boasts plenty of long walks and bike tracks and has plenty of quiet areas to sit and have a picnic surrounded by splendid view. We like to take our grandchildren as they can feed the ducks in the lake, after a walk they can play on the beach and then get an ice cream on the way home. It has turned into a vibrant area now which has a fab atmosphere on a nice summers day.

I remember it being built but only visited it for the first time today. The information centre is a great place for leaflets about local attractions and the staff behind the counter are helpful and knowedgeable. There is a small shop too with some clothes, books and gifts. There is a side room with a large relief model under glass of the whole area. Upstairs is Flanagan's Cafe which is a bright and pleasant place to sit and have a snack and drink. (There is a lift as well as stairs so accessible to all) The coffees were excellent. My only criticism would be that the staff could be friendlier and more welcoming - and more attentive too - we clearly asked for cheese and pickle sandwiches but cheese and onion were brought to the table! Outside (but attached to the same building) is an ice cream kiosk.

The Centre is open seven days a week throughout the indoor bowls season (Sept-April). The Centre has hosted a number of National and International bowls events, many of which have been televised. During the summer recess period from May until mid-September the Centre, which is licensed for public entertainments, is utilised for a range of activities including concerts, seminars, exhibitions etc. with a 12,000 square feet floor area. It is fully equipped with a modern stage lighting system, tiered staging and chair stock for a maximum seated audience of 1,200 persons.
