The TA Sweetwater, TX, is decent. Stopped here on 7.19.2025 for gas, restroom break, and snacks for the kids. Regular gas = $2.76 Plus = $3.05 Premium = $3.52 The store had the strangest maze of a layout. The employees were not all that friendly, often blocking fridge doors while inventorying or restocking items. The restrooms were dirty. Trash overflowing. There were some grassy areas for our dog to relieve her bladder on nearby our pump. I supervised my oldest daughter - who is just barely a pound or two heavier - managed to keep our canine confined to that area. They did good in this relatively safe area. read more

While driving back from California we stopped here to refuel. They provided just what we needed to get a little reprieve for our trip. The bathroom was ok, and the store provided some snack options. It's in an area of the town with other stores that could be helpful for travelers. Definitely a good place to stop. read more

We stopped and got brunch it was ok. Only one waitress and she did darn good for being busy. I had to go to the restroom my complaint is the guy was just standing there with it blocked off DOING NOTHING. He told me there's one up stairs I told him I'm still recovering from a fractured ankle and can't climb them and he just shrugs really dude. I walk in & see a tattered US flag, so ask an employee stocking if the manager is available. I get, "they're not here," with a head nod towards what may be an office. She finally says, "do you want me to get them?" "That would be great of you could, I just wanted to ask about the tattered American flag outside..." At this the girl I realize this gal has basically flopped her head over to the side & is ignoring me. After I went to the restroom I spotted a gal in a polo who looked more managerial material. Ahe listened to me & said she would bring it up to the manager. She turns & anoyher customer says something to the same gal about "seeing who's in charge..." As I went to make a purchase the cashier is on her cellphone. When I get back to the car, my mom tells me the first gal I talked to was told "there's customers in line" (a hint to help at the register), but the girl nonchalantly said, "yeah I'll get there when I can..." leaving the long line to stand. I'm back home in Texas on bereavement leave & my stops at two other travel centers were friendly & helpful. Not so much here, so won't be back. The place is trashed. The bathroom has no soap and there is literally trash everywhere. I told one of the workers and she told me to wash my hands near the coffee but that sink was also out of soap and paper towels. I told the same worker and another worker who were talking and the other worker said there were only two workers. He didn't offer or try to clean anything. read more

I had the amazing experience of stopping here during my travels coming back from Albuquerque to Austin. The stop had clean restrooms. The gas was also fairly priced for the area. The food however didn't look to be the greatest so I opted for a bag a chips and a soda for dinner. The dinner of champions some would say. They have a TON of stuff inside. All your basic gas station snacks and drinks, plus I saw hats, beanies, camo coveralls, DVD's all sorts of Texas memorabilia and more! I was pretty amazed walking around this place looking at everything that was packed in. Let's face it though, I came for the bathroom. Why else do you really stop at truck stops like this? Well the bathroom was a MESS. I understand holiday travelers were marching in and out like an army, but sheesh, you would think that would mean you would kick the housekeeping up a notch. The first stall I went into the lock was non existent, and since it was a large stall, I didn't want to risk being interrupted and caught with my pants down, so to say, so I tried the next one. This one the latch worked, but there was no place for it in the doorway. I just tried to fit it up to the doorway and hoped that since it was closer to me, I could sorta shield myself with the door. Sigh. Toilet paper everywhere on the floor, but none in my stall. Awesome. Didn't try the attached restaurant (with an apple logo that suspiciously looked a lot like the Applebee's apple) but it looked like your typical diner. There was also a popeyes attached at the other end. Tons of gas pumps, but there was still a line and a mess of cars everywhere. 2 years later in town for work on the nearby wind turbines again, & the TA restaurant service/food has not wavered! Still good hot food, & fresh fluffy eggs! I eat here every Sun, always fast courteous service, I notice a few of the waitresses are still here from 2 years ago, & always a pleasure to give them a good 50% or so tip cause they actually earn it, unlike so many 'dis interested' waitresses these days. Just a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The restaurant does NOT smell like some reviewers claim, they must be talking about the store or where they let their pets take a dump without cleaning it up! I wouldn't eat here every Sunday if the restaurant smelled. Wasn't real stoked on the ribeye/eggs plate, the ribeye wasn't the best cut by any means, had a lot of gristle, but it was steak & eggs for $10.99. When the coworker excused herself to use the bathroom, the cusser took off, leaving a customer to wonder where everyone was. They have a limit on card charges at the gas pumps. Very inconvenient for vehicles with large tanks. I called this to the attention of the owner and he rudely informed me it was my card that was the problem.. TA truck shop had great service. I showed up around midnight and Gene promptly greeted me. From start to finish the team was outstanding! My family and I was traveling from after my grandmother funeral. When we decided to stop and use their bathroom and I looking at some dream catcher souvenir for $3.99. I put them back and went to use the restroom. When I was walking out the door I was falsely accused of stealing an orange one by an associate named MANNY and the manager YOLANDA. I will never do busy there with this company because of this experience. I've travel back and fourth for years and I've never heard such a horrible experience with any other gas stations when we stop. I'm will share this with all the customers that visit T&A Travel Station in Sweetwater Tx store number 113. The employees have lack of train and poor customer service. Yolanda also snatched the paper from my brother when he was trying to write down the customer service number to report this experience. I feel very embarrassed and humiliated about this whole experience. I would hate for someone else to go through the same horrible experience I want through at that location. I pulled up to pump #3 and started trying to fill my tank. All of a sudden, I started smelling gas so looked at the gas pumping into the truck I was driving. There was gas coming out of the pump, not into the truck. I stopped the pump, went inside and told the clerk what was happening. She then called maintenance and after about 5 minutes he came walking towards me. He then started pumping gas again and it was still leaking. I told the clerk that I shouldn't have to pay for gas that was leaking and not going into my tank. I was told that the minute I put the pump hack in it's holder is when I stopped geting charged. Why would I have to pay for gas not going into my tank but instead going all over the concrete? it shouldn't be MY responsibiity to make sure the pumps are workign properly - it should be TA's. Never again will I frequent a TA. I deal with a lot of people (truck driver's too). They will all be told about my experience dealing with TA/Sweetwater, TX. read more

Food is pretty decent in the restaurant side. The service is always a bit frazzled, but what can you expect from a truck stop restaurant with good food. Always seems clean when I'm there and since I don't call there before I get there, it probably always is. And they have some GREAT pie! read more

The Travel Center itself is great! Lots of things a traveler needs & probably doesn't need but buys any way! But this is about the restaurant. Forget about anything with a salad bar after 11pm - they take it up. The waitress did offer to make one for us - came out with lettuce only! Had to have her go back to put on other stuff. The only good thing is she didn't charge us for it. It'll be a while before we consider stopping there to eat. read more
