TravelCenters of America was established by Phil Saunders in 1972 as Truckstops of America. The company was among the first truck stop chains in the nation as a place for truckers. It feels that TA is still a place for truck drivers. There are numerous lanes for diesel and only 4 pumps for regular vehicles. There is a Country Pride restaurant inside that looks like it would cook up good old fashioned delicious truck stop grub. Like the cook says in the movie City Slickers "It's hot, brown, and plenty of it". Wish we could have stayed for lunch. TA is a place to gas up, get a snack or a meal and go. The Convenience store has some good things but it's not my first choice since I don't use diesel anymore. read more

Very small. Uneven parking lot. Amenities on the trucksmart app said there was a pet area and there is not. Pulled in and pulled right out. No thanks. I've been to enough TA's to know which one is good and which one is not. And this is a big not. read more

This location is rather cramped and a bit old; although the employees are nice I did not enjoy the tiny tiny shower. They have a Country Pride and quite a bit of truck parking. read more

Parked for an hour after full shift. Just get to sleep and they knock on door telling me im in reserved parking. Literally 20 minutes left on clock and they forced me out of their lot. If you're going to have reserved parking "T/A", make sure its painted on the ground and make sure you have signs stating that its reserved parking. I would have put 0/5 stars but thats not an option. Its bulls*** that we have no way of knowing its reserved and you're kicking us out. How much is a can of spray paint to avoid doing this to drivers? Tired truck drivers are at risk of hurting themselves and or others when you do sh** like this. We need our rest, you're going to get somebody killed one day. read more

I would have to say that this truck stop is not bad at all in general. I like that it's located right off the freeway. It's also really easy to get in, also, it's really easy to get to the fuel pump. This truck stop has good condition and clean parking lot. It's pretty easy to find and get into a parking spot here. The truck stop is designed for you to park your truck with no problem. The inside of the market, they had delicious coffee and many different snacks to help you continue on your trip. The store also has a lot of different stuff for the truck like oil coolant logbooks etc. read more

nice looking diner, breakfast served all day, and they pretty accommodating to add or substitute from menu. Employees are pretty nice, allot of locals come here to eat. I ordered eggs/bacon/hash brown and toast...; food was good and made right, orange juice was horrible, like out of can... for dinner menu they have steak, chicken, fish. for desert not too big of a selection; no waffles (my favorites), they have pancakes and apple pie with ice cream... have tea and coffee, and juices (don't recommend juice).... don't drink coffee so can't say, but tea selection is black/green/herbal/decaf ....Monday through Friday they have specials; on Friday it is "all you can eat fish", for now.... this place is right off the freeway, on I-80 east bound side.... truck parking available, takes cash and credit cards. read more

I stopped to get a trailer inspection and a tire changed . they said they could not do inspection. said they could change tire . 3 hours later 3 mechanics sitting around doing nothing. no tire change so I drove on down the road to a Love's truck stop . love's is a 5 star truck stop . Wanted to eat at the Mexican restaurant next door but it was closed so decided to eat here They had a all you can eat taco bar Which included the soup and salad bar Taco bar was pretty good. Refried beans were dried out and hard but everything else was pretty good Salad bar was a typical salad bar Stocked good Included a strawberry cheesecake dessert all you can eat also Our server was wonderful Very attentive and helpful Very cheerful All in all not bad for a truck stop read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Country Pride: HA! Inattentive, disengaged, rude- first encounter: asked for hot cocoa they are out. Out of hot cocoa at a truck stop restaurant? okay I guess it's possible, but for a waitress (Machelle) to act as if by asking, we are interrupting her day that's plain rude. So we took our menus (there are 3 of us- 2 adults and a child) and moved to the counter where we were at first acknowledged, but then promptly ignored while others around were acknowledged, greeted and served for at least 10 minutes. At the point we were ready to ask for our bill for the 1 cup of coffee and small orange juice, so we could head over to Wendy's, the counter lady decided to let us know she was taking over. We decided to go ahead and order. The food was edible, but the service was definitely lacking. read more

We ate breakfast at the Country Pride restaurant and it was a decent meal but nothing to write home about, either. It definitely has a very old school, comfort food vibe. I had a short stack of pancakes and they hit the spot but this is definitely your basic fare. My husband had traditional breakfast food too, we were both satisfied with their prices and the service was fine. There are not a lot of breakfast options on Sunday mornings in Ogallala. read more

Ooh the bathrooms! Newly remodeled, clean, with flower arrangements! I dread gas station bathrooms, but on road trips they're unavoidable. This one - in a gas station less accessable than the nearby Conoco - was outstanding. It was being tidied up & disinfected when we walked in. The women's room had 3 stalls, 3 sinks, fully stocked automated paper dispensers, soap that smelled good, and .... wait for it moms ... a baby changing station that was clean and had a working belt to keep baby in place. Finally, I left a bathroom feeling like my daughters and I hadn't picked up a disease. Husband said the men's room was nice too. "Flowers in the men's room?!" We spent some money in the convenience store portion (sort of a monetary reward for the great bathrooms) and talked with a really nice woman about her kids and grandkids. I never thought I'd write a review about a gas station, but here it is. What? I love a good surprise. read more

Okay, this review is for the restaurant called Prime Kitchen that is located at the Travel Center. The Travel Center itself looks great. The folks who work at both seem like great people. In fact, the nice people who work here are why I am giving this place 2 stars as opposed to one. Oh. My. Gosh. The food was AWFUL. I suppose it was our own fault, in a way, expecting something special from a Travel Center Restaurant after getting a recommendation from a local. We'd been traveling all day on Mother's Day, with three small kiddos, and my husband offered the opportunity for us to get out and eat something in a sit-down restaurant even though we had about 3 hours left in our journey. Prime Kitchen was offering a Mother's Day special, they said. Chicken Cordon Bleu, with several sides, salad bar and a serving of strawberry shortcake. We'd arrived at an odd hour: 3:00pm, so the restaurant wasn't all that busy, and I couldn't take a peek at anyone else's plate to see what the food looked like. I was tempted to skip the special and just get order a breakfast, but honestly, the salad bar sounded tempting, as did the idea of splitting a shortcake between my little brood. So, I did it. Okay, the helpings are definitely generous. And the service was quick. My husband ordered a slice of ham, and my kids had a breakfast meal, and those all looked like what you might expect at a breakfast joint in a travel center. Nothing special, but not bad, you know? They got the order wrong in spots, but it wasn't anything major and we could have asked them to correct it if it was a big enough deal. It wasn't. My plate, though. Imagine a slab of frozen pre-cooked chicken rolled in cheap bread crumbs, and then cooked most of the way through. Then, a gelatinous bright yellow sauce slapped on it, and it was reheated enough to bring to the table, where it proceeded to cool so quickly, that you figure it probably never got heated all the way through the first time. I ate one bite. The couple behind us had also ordered the special. They sent their plates back to the kitchen asking them to be reheated. When we left, I noticed they still hadn't eat the rest of their chicken, either. I nibbled off my children's bacon, and was relieved I had at least eaten the salad. We waited for the shortcake, hoping it was acceptable. Ugh. The "shortcake" tasted like a slab of that thin super-sweet spongey stuff that can keep indefinitely in a plastic bag because it is so stuffed with preservatives that it will never rot. The strawberries and red syrup which inundated it (again, this was not a small portion, either), tasted like they had been poured from a can. It didn't look anything like the picture advertised, and my kids had a few bites before we stopped them from committing culinary hari-cari. My husband laughed and said that the sign on the door reading, "Cooks Wanted" should have been a warning for us. I got up and chose my Mother's Day special small pot of flowers and left. We call it our $40.00 flower pot. I saw another erstwhile "Special" victim at the door studying the image of the shortcake and the listing of the Mother's Day Special. I leaned across and tried to warn her: "It's terrible!" I hissed. "The food's TERRIBLE!", but either she didn't hear me, or she thought I was one of those too picky out-of-towners. Maybe I am. If this food perks the interest of the inhabitants of Ogallala, then all I can say is God Bless 'em. And they can have it. read more

The service department is a joke. A diesel mechanic is supposed to be able to work on diesel engines,etc. I was in a dump truck that needed to be serviced and they made up an excuse why they couldn't service it. The real reason is because they wanted to go home and not potentially get tied up by something else. I will NEVER go there again for anything,not even eat at the restaurant. read more

Really clean and stocked bathrooms, food, all kinds of supplies, nice service, restaurant, and is an all around clean and decent place.

I am from the pacific northwest and now live in Ogallala and the $10.99 all you can eat fish and chips is awesome comes with soup and salad and choice of side. And the coffee is the best in town. read more

Stopped for cheap gas as advertised. Only 1 pump has this price. Shame on you for misleading people!

Very clean bathroom and I love the flowers in the restrooms. They had a variety of movies to purchase and the staff was friendly.
