Nou Manolin is located in a beautiful and lively part of Alicante's historical center.
On the ground floor, a large (and yet intimate) square bar occupies the entire floor. This is a bar where customers sit on a first come first served dynamic. Here you can informally eat out of tapas, that are served in a gracious and fun way. It is totally unpretentious, and totally sophisticated.
This hall could not be more beautiful. No one single testaurant-Indra cliche to be found here. All pure eclecticism that reveals the long term existence of the establishment. So beautiful!
The upper floor is more of a table serviced restaurant, beautifully decorated in a Mediterranean-design style, and with great care for impecable acoustics. The ceiling is made of a series of John Soane-like wooden domes, made to reduce sound reflection. Such a nice way to focus on the invisible part of design, so important to make a place the right place for a memorable dinner or lunch.

This place másters a unique combination of professionalism and know-how with warmness and lack of pompousness. The result is truly nice. You truly feel welcomed here. And feels like being in the center of the world. . At the same time you feel the enthusiasm for food and wine.

The marinera is the best. Amazing fresh seafood. The bacalao buñuelos are a gastronomic chapter on its own. But above all that: do not miss the fideuá. This is the best fideuás I ever had. The fideo is soft and crispy. The flavors are intense and with a bit of a good-olive-oil- bitterness. The food here is indescribable. Just come to taste it.

Something needs to be said about this city Alicante that has beautifully managed to show how to be coastal and urban in a beautiful and meaningful way. But please, keep it secret; we don't want this to become a tourist mess like Barcelona.
