Huge timber communal tables with bench seats sit amongst shady trees in a courtyard surrounded by ACCA, Chunky Move and the Malthouse workshop. It's the perfect place to meet up with a group of people or to sit on your own with a good book or play. There is also a very quiet upstairs balcony area inside, for more intimate meetings and conversations. You get to sample the top 100 approachable and accessible wines from Victoria's burgeoning wine regions. This selection makes picking some real winners a breeze. A handy brochure showcasing the cream of the crop was a definitive keepsake. I'll be sure to keep it handy when next prepping for a soirée. The master classes were a lot of fun too. Prosecco and Aperol Spritz cocktail making was a particularly fun standout. The Riedel glass for your wine tasting pleasure was a classy touch too. She said that it was just food... which kind of sums the fish souvlaki up.... But that said, if you are looking for fancy, healthy, extravagent, gourmet food then why on earth would you go to a fish and chips shop in the first place??? So to cut the long story short, the fish and chips were good and tasted the way fish and chips are supposed to taste. Like all fish and chips they were probably fairly bad for us and contain very little nutritional value but so what - thats what fish and chips shops are supposed to be like. My kids ate them enthusiastically and everything consumed played the expected role of "food" thus doing its job properly... The staff were nice and were tolerant of my twin 3 year olds annoying everyone in the shop and sitting on the counter ringing the bell on the statue of the smiling Chinese cat that you see in Chinese restaurants or Chinese run establishments of all types (I wish I knew what those cats were called). They were also tolerant of my wet swimming shorts making there seats a bit wet too (we had been at the pool accross the road - swimming and fish and chips work well together as one is always too buggered to cook after a long swim). Anyway, apologies for my wet bum marks on the seats - but justice occurred when I had to go back and collect one of my kids sandals which he left in the shop - so the time it took for the seat to dry was probably about the same time it took me to go back and collect the sandal... it was a long hot day... On another note, the shop is right next door to the Cheesecake Shop - meaning that you can have fish and chips for your meal and then get a cheesecake for dessert - if you can manage to eat that much and that combination which doesnt exactly work to my mind... Anyway, enough about my life - check out this shop if you are in the area and want fish and chips - its a good one and its also very very reasonably priced. A pack of 2 big pieces of blue grenadeer (fish), 3 potato cakes, 2 dimsims and a whole heap of chips cost $14.80 or something like that. I think it was called a "Two Pack". I highly recommend becoming a viewer next year. Whole buildings are turned into projection screens that have static and moving light displays. Also used are smaller projections within store windows and even projections on to the footpath and trees. No space is spared and the imagination of the artist is limitless. I love the concept of light as art and this festival has chosen wisely and collaborated with some fantastic artists. It is a fun and innovative festival that is free for the general public to view. Normally a five-minute walk form Nicholson St to Smith St - this exhibition takes about an hour to take in and appreciate. A small amount of time that will leave a large impression.

There's a little alcohol bar and a coffee bar inside where the ping pong tables are. This is such a cool set up for people to hang out before the movie starts. Future Entertainment is probably the biggest events company in Melbourne. They also run a series of smaller local events all throughout the year and book some of Melbourne's and even the worlds biggest Dj's. Future Entertainment is a group of very talented individuals and I have yet to be disappointed with any event run by these guys. If you are a Dj, producer, dancer or some kind of entertainer looking to get involved in the Melbourne dance scene I recommend contacting Future as your first point of contact. If you are a regular festival goer Future recruits a large amount of promoters during festival season to help sell tickets and promote their events, not to mention making a few extra bucks for yourself in the mean time! The bar itself is very narrow and long with the central focus being on the stage. The decor is pretty cool with a range of impressive street art on the walls. They range of events is really impressive with art exhibitions, open mic nights, comedy nights and lots and lots of live music. We saw a night of bands headlined by the Buzzards, the atmosphere was relaxed and good times were had all around. They have happy hours beers every night of the week from 5-7pm and the drinks prices are pretty good all night long. A few weeks ago, I dragged my house mates out to see my mate's band, The Wolfs play before some random American DJ. It was rainy and gross out so we had to hop in a cab which sucked but it was worth it once we arrived at this little venue. The place was packed and the sound was quality! All in all great vibes other then my bar complaints, I loved this place maybe because of the FREE live music. Be sure to check out the bathroom. I'd love to know who the artist was because the graffiti is really sweet. There was also a lounge area closer to the back a bit away from the music which would be good for people who want to talk inside. Though it's right on the street there are a few chairs and tables out front for smokers but it's a bit of a squeeze since there's not much walking room in between the front door, the smoking area, and the street.
