I'm sad to say this food was terrible. You can get better Tex-Mex in the frozen food aisle.

I drive by this place pretty much every day on my way home and I figured it was time to give it a try. Now, I'll be honest, my review is going to solely be based on the food and the drive thru service because it was pretty late and there was a couple out front yelling at each other. I simply got a taco, quesadilla and a small order of guacamole. The guy working the drive thru was great and is the reason they got three stars instead of 1.5 (if only we could) or 2 stars. The food was seriously lacking in any kind of flavor. It was bland, even with their sauce. I literally had to Frank it up to put any kind of flavor to the food at all, and that includes the guacamole. I'll try em again and update if my next experience is better. read more

This review rests entirely on the head of the cashier, 5:30 Sept. 19- Thursday First, There were no cars around the restaurant and I was the only one in the drive through. Still the girl taking the order said I had to wait. After 3-4 minutes, she asked me what I wanted. Second, I couldn't understand the girl's voice in the speaker. Her accent was too heavy for English speaking patrons. Third, what made it worse was she said an enchilada dinner would be $5.40. I asked her if that was one enchilada or two. She said I ordered one enchilada. I told her no, I want a regular enchilada dinner, however it comes. I told her the menu said $7.99 so she must be leaving something out. She said just pull around, so I did. When I pulled up at the window, the girl looked like she was about ten years old, never opened the window to confirm my order or even to greet me. I knocked on the window to confirm the order, and she said the bill would be $8.50. I said okay, and handed her nine bucks. She said no, it was $9.52. I told her she quoted me three different prices and that the menu said $7.99. She said she "don't know" but my bill was $9.52. Last time! I really don't like giving out low ratings but I believe sometime it assists management in correcting areas of weakness within their business. I like Taco Bueno, however, I am beginning to wonder if I need to switch to another fast food chain for my burrito cravings.I just left Taco Bueno after ordering a combo burrito. First thing I need to address is customer service....it is truly lacking in the personnel who work at the window. There is no greeting of the day and it feels as though you are intruding upon them when you come through. This is the fourth incident I have encountered at this particular TB where they do not ask if you need anything else and forget to put salsa in your bag. Personnel here need to get some lessons from places like Chick-fil-A where they put their customers first. Remember you are in business because customers who purchase food and assist in paying your salary. Unfortunately after this incident, you just lost another customer. Secondly, when I pay 3.99 for a burrito, I expect a hearty filled burrito, if I want a skimpy one I know my way to the nearest Taco Bell at half the price. What is going on? I barely had any filling in my tortilla. I can make them better at home all by myself. Companies wonder why their sales are slowing down? It's mainly because of customer service and quality of food. Got the taco Tuesday platter for $2.99 Food was good, but so cold inside I could barely stay. Asked lady to turn air up/warmer and not sure if she did or not. Takes a while to go from sub zero to 70 something. 10 minutes later as I type this review, my hands are still cold! Not as good as the Toco Buenos in other areas. The never have the order right, and the food is always soggy.

Ordered the #2 three taco and drink combo with no tomatoes and their "Big Freak'n" taco with chicken. What we got was three tacos with just beef and cheese and not even a "Big Freak'n Taco" with chicken. Just a beef taco with cheese, tomato, and lettuce. Very disappointed. First ever Taco Bueno visit! Hit the drive through at prime lunchtime and there was no wait at all. Got a nacho salad with ground beef - basically nachos that are light on the chips, heavy on lettuce. It didn't look especially appealing, but it was really tasty! While it might have the speed and pricing of fast food Mexican, I thought it tasted way better than some others I've tried. Will definitely be back to try some other items! read more

Speedy, friendly service, rarely messes up my order, even if it is complicated, which it usually is. Late night staff gets swamped regularly, but handle it well. They have great menu options. (I feel I need to say that my five stars is versus other fast food restaurants, but for the money it definitely still holds its own. ) And the extra star is for the location!!!!! Went from fair store to total fail!! Up to 6 months ago was good. Really gone downhill. Last visit pico (which was a signature good perk) was just watery tomatoes. Went this evening , soooo disappointed. Where to begin? No pico in store, said "they" forget to make it this morning. And no one could make it all day?? Got platter w queso & quac. & rice. Hmmmm, thought they had forgotten the rice, turns out about a tablespoon under the enchilada, guac about half regular serving & so dark. Barely any queso in chip cup really. Guess they ran out of rice, queso & guac too!! No forks (ran out?!) And no chips at all for queso & quac- guess they knew we did not need chips since we were screwed out of edible quac & queso. Never had any issues with this establishment until tonight. Never had rude customer service until tonight. I ordered a Large sweet tea. What was given to me was a large unsweetened tea with no ice. I can drink unsweet tea the ice is an issue for me it was hot. I said I can not drink this. The guy at the window was extremely rude that took the ordered. He acted that is was my mistake. I won't be back if that is how they treat customers. Highly disappointed tonight. read more

I go here all the time and I'm on a first name basis with most of the staff. If you like Tex-Mex, and don't want to eat a mouthful of grease (like some of you weird Taco Bell fans) then this is the place! They have party taco Thursdays and give away coupons all the time- especially if you sign up for their emails like I did. You could catch a bite after a day of shopping at Tyler Mall or bring the kids after a fun day at the park. Both are only a few minutes from this Taco Bueno. Very friendly staff and great affordable food. I recommend to everyone, stop by any day to enjoy some delicious food! read more

Would be cool if they stayed ipmw until the time it says they do, had employees look at us at 11:15 and say they were closed when online it says midnight, drive through was still on and there were still employees there. Might want to rethink your night staff. read more

Cheap Tex mex . They run a lot of specials so sign up for their email club. I like the taquitos . The enchiladas are made with flour tortillas but I prefer corn. Cilantro rice and black beans are offered as an alternative to the usual refried and Mexican rice. Always clean when I visit. Located right down the street from the Tyler mall read more

Oh no, Taco Bueno was hellish today. Understaffed, took 15 min to get my dine in order which consisted of one taco and one bean burrito. The entire dining room was waiting for food while employees seemed to only serve the drive through. One couple had been waiting since we arrived. I spoke with them and they said they had been waiting 25 minutes. When my food was delivered the lady just dropped the tray aggressively. The tray had guacamole all over the underside of it. It only got one star because of the embarassed employee handling our problem by following his managers orders. The got it in two ways. First, a sauce was ordered and payed extra for that was not delivered. The manager gave us a hard time about it like we were lying. We had our receipt and just received our food. I received a taco instead of nachos. I only paid for the taco. So manager asked for difference in pay. Well, okay. I did. Then he wouldn't give them to us until the taco was returned. He never acknowledge his mistake or apologized for it. His mistakes. Not ours. I was not trying to get something for nothing. But he treated us like that. And the burrito was very sloppy. GO TO THE OTHER LOCATION!!!! It was much much better in every way! read more

This location used to be a favorite. Lately the service has been HORRIBLE. The last few times I've gone they have made us repeat some or all of the order at least 3 times! They ALWAYS leave something out whether it be chips tacos or both. They ask about four times if you want hot sauce but do you have any in the bag when you drive away? Nope! Stopped in for a quick snack. These folks have always been very nice & clean. Seems some have had a problem so wonder if they have just had a couple bad days. We have never had a bad experience. Didn't recognize a good thing until it was gone. Used to order all kinds of special burritos, taco salads, and tostadas and they'd remember us and always get the order right. They were nice, we were nice, food was good fast food Mexican food... Then one day I tried to order some burritos and things minus meat (in taco bueno speak "no beef, no chilli sauce, add beans instead") and was met with "beef chicken or steak" repeated back at me multiple times, each with an increasingly annoyed tone at me, as I wondered if I was speaking English as I tried to explain no meat. Of course when I got my order, each item had beef in it, and the taco salad had ground beef poured on the top of it (not the chilli sauce, a clump of ground beef dumped right on top of the garnishes). Friends at work got free beefy taco bueno and the mowhawked tattooed hipster guy taking my order ironically with such attitude gets a bad review from a hungry person out $12.
