I have been to dozens of Mexican restaurants in the Lexington area and there are two that stand out. This one and the me in Midway, KY. This place is like the Cheesecake Factory of Mexican -it's a big menu. If you talk to Latin American people or the employees of the restaurant, they will tell you that this place is exceptional. I had the Camarones A La Diabla and it was spicy!! Great flavor! Most Mexican restaurants don't show any heat or spice in most all of their dishes, but this is fire! Not only do they have a large menu but also have a lot seating. There are so many tables and they open another room on the weekends. They have a great patio when the weather is right and it is covered! We were there on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. They also had margaritas two for one and I don't know when they offer that but they had it when we were there. I look forward to going back and trying more dishes!

Ordered a lingua and barbacoa taco and the steak tacos with cheese sauce. Plenty of meat on the tacos and the lingua was very tender. The steak tacos are always great mostly because of the cheese sauce and good amount of steak. The chips and salsa always hit the spot also

The place is beautiful from the outside and the inside. It is a very modern establishment however, they have some unique qualities I hadn't seen in Lexington. For starters, they sat us right away even though it was busy. Next, we ordered a guacamole appetizer and someone came with a cart and made it fresh in front of us! I thought that was super cool since you also get to pick your toppings. The margaritas tasted amazing... it was truly a good ice cream base; I've had nothing like it. Their food is good, they have so many options and the portions are good but it is pricey. The vibe is super fun, it's like a genuine party. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't been. 10/10

This is only my second post, and unfortunately this visit was disappointing compared to our usual experiences. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the beer came out warm, which was a rough start. We ordered the lettuce tacos and a cheesesteak quesadilla. It seemed like the food sat in the service window a bit too long -- the lettuce wasn't crispy and we had to ask for new lettuce for the tacos. The quesadilla itself was good, but it could've used some extra flavor. We also ordered hot sauce, but it wasn't spicy at all, which was a letdown. That said, we know what this place is capable of and this visit felt more like an off night than the norm. We'll definitely be back to give it another shot, because El Asadero is usually one of our go-to spots.

Server was nice but not very attentive. They may be short-staffed. I ordered a Michelob Ultra but what she brought didn't taste at all like what I ordered. She apologized & replaced but I didn't end up drinking that either. Food was typical to what I feel I can get at most Mexican restaurants. Our order was queso, Fajita steak quesadilla, hard beef taco, chicken tenders with fries. I feel like there quesadilla portion was smaller than other places. For example, my go to Durango's gives double the portion with their quesadilla. Awkward layout of seating and again nothing overall impressive.

Every dish is packed with flavor, consistently fresh, and served with genuine care. We love getting an occasional beer or a cocktail. We love going so much that it's become more than just a place to eat, it's a place where we feel connected. Gracias, Monarca, for creating such a wonderful experience time and time again. You could choose chicken or steak. I chose steak, but why not Chorizo. I suggested it to the waiter, and he promptly told the chef. The steak was just a thin cut piece, quite unnecessary to the dish. There was one egg. I asked for it over easy. Halfway through, the waiter said it comes with a side of fruit or potatoes. OK, Potatoes. also not necessary to the dish. Parmenter, with bacon, onions and red pepper. The main part of the dish was good. The rice was eh. Definitely not the best Chilaquiles I've had, and wouldn't order again. But will certainly be back at some point for lunch. Super nice staff. 91

Y'all. Go. Go here. Right now. You will NOT regret it!!…read more I have a list of new places in Lex that I want to try this summer and this was on it. I was going to Trader Joe's and this was super close so I stopped by. It's in the shopping center with Clothes Mentor and Plato's Closet on Nich Road. I am in my taco era right now eating them once a day probably 5 days a week. The parking lot in front was packed so when I walked in to absolutely no one in the restaurant I was shocked. A very kind server named Fabiola sat me at a table and took my order. They didn't automatically bring out chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants, she asked if I wanted them. I ordered a water, a Baja fish taco, and a Baja shrimp taco. The tacos have in-house made fresh tortillas, and they were DELICIOUS. The shrimp and fish were clearly cooked to order. They came with a mild green sauce and then a hotter sauce, neither were my cup of tea but I can see how they would be good to others. I'm just a salsa girl. The chips and salsa were very good. I couldn't tell if the chips were also in-house made, they tasted better than typical Mexican restaurant chips, and were perfectly salted. The salsa was just right, and I'm a salsa snob. Ambiance = 5/5 's Food = 5/5 's Service = 5/5 's I can't figure out why this place was empty. The prices weren't high, the food was delicious, service was on point, location is great. Only thing I can think is that no one really knows about it? Fabiola said they had only been open for 6 months, so maybe it's not well known. But I HIGHLY recommend, and I will DEFINITELY be going back!!
