La Nacional is a very nice upscale restaurant. The fine tablecloths, the impeccably dressed…read morewaiters, and the fine leather seating are all evocative of a steakhouse. But the place is also hip: we were there on a World Cup day, and there were many fans watching the game. It was festive and lively.
The food is outstanding. We got the fried cauliflower, the arranchera (strip steak), the suckling pig (as tacos), and the creme brûlée flan. The steak was deliciously marbled, and cooked to perfection. It melted a bit on the tongue. The suckling pig tacos were dynamite. The meat was tender, and topped with a crispy piece of chicharron. The presentation was impeccable. The flan was also really tasty, and made for a light, sweet, and to a delicious meal.
