They will not send any prior notifications for deducting payment, because they don't want you to know that they are looting your money 4. No payment receipts 5. No payment confirmation email It is completely pathetic experience Karate is an Art, but these people only doing for money, even if anything happens to your kids they really don't bother Lot of differences shown to kids in terms of Race... people went there can understand Worst place ever in my life...

As a 100% disabled U.S. veteran, and with my father also being a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran, we rely on our registered service animals for support, especially in public settings. There are designated areas for disabled individuals at the venue and she was standing in a handicapped viewing area. When we asked Master Lis to make room for us and our service animals in this space, she not only questioned the legitimacy of our dogs but responded with a dismissive attitude. Her eye-rolling and smirking made it clear that she felt justified in her disrespect toward us. It's important to understand that both my father and I suffer from PTSD, a condition that stems from experiences most people cannot imagine. Our service animals are essential for providing the comfort and stability we need to be in public, and they allowed us to be present at this event to support my young daughter in her competition. It is deeply disappointing to witness such behavior from someone in a leadership position. This lack of tolerance and empathy for those with disabilities, especially coming from someone who is supposed to exemplify the excellence of Taekwondo is shocking and concerning. This "master" has direct interaction with children, and knowing what we experienced, how can someone believe that she is instilling positive values in those she trains, especially our youth. We would like to remind you of the values your own website promotes: "No matter where you go in life, respect will always take you higher. Watch your child learn respect for themselves, parents, and their friends." To increase your awareness: "Texas law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guarantee the right of a person who is blind or has other disabilities, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), to be accompanied by a trained service animal in all public places."

Girls excel at this sport and actually out-perform boys until they are at least 10 years old. Start them at 6, and maybe add some muy thai or boxing etc at 9 or 10 too. Do not try to coach. Do not offer advice. Support without opinions, and maybe try it out yourself. Sit back and watch the magic happen... it will. Don't care if it actually helps in a self defense situation? Want your kid to be a pretend martial arts master? Become a "black belt" after 5 or 6 years? If that is the goal, you can get your kid into karate or tae kwon do or kung fu or whatever... Just make sure they don't try to use it in a fight with someone who can actually fight. And do not expect them to get the same lessons in humility and respect that they will learn first hand in bjj. Head instructor was technical and broke things down well . The sense of humor and banter here made me feel very comfortable. The also have Muay Thai. My daughter has attended this dojang for about two years since she was 6 and we'd still be going…read morehere if we didn't need to move. But move we did... so it's about time I leave a review. It's located on Bellaire next to Pollo Campero in a slightly run down orange retail center. It's hard to miss once you see it. They do have a shared parking lot with a handicap spot right in front of the dojang but parking can be tight during busy times like belt tests or larger classes. They offer a 1-week trial period, which is ideal. In my opinion, trial classes are mandatory before joining a new dojang just to see if it's a good fit but if it's only one class, it's merely a peek. One week - if you can make it to multiple classes - will give you exposure to most of the other students and instructors you will meet and is more accurate. There are several martial arts places in the area, but this one won based on value but also the atmosphere. They offer unlimited classes for the monthly membership cost as long as you attend the classes for your age group (ages 4 and up), they don't pressure you to compete and has a more supportive and relaxed feel so you can go at your own pace. The classes aren't very crowded either so you sometimes get more attention to work on things you need to work on. You have the option to apply for a belt test every 3 months so that's not rushed either, so this place is definitely not a McDojo. They do provide a handbook that outlines all the testing material for each belt so you're not going in blind and they'll focus on testing material leading up to it, helpful for the students that don't attend as many classes. The other students are pretty good sports overall. Females are in the minority and my daughter is small for her age but she never really felt left out by the other boys. Master Derek and the other instructors are knowledgeable and personable. They teach WTF taekwondo here from stances, kicks, blocks, punches, and poomsae to footwork, breaking, kicking combinations, self defense, and sparring (though no weapons so far). They also teach the five tenets of taekwondo. I even joined the adult classes when I had time though very casually (more for exercise) and I didn't feel pressured to go any further (though there's always encouragement). It was fun and Kim's Olympic Taekwondo felt like a second home with how often we were there. Both my daughter and I miss them but there were some pretty great memories. Fun fact: Master Derek has a background in physical therapy so that's a plus while practicing a contact sport... especially once you pass a certain age. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to learn taekwondo, whether or not you're a beginner. Or at least try out a few trial classes to see if you'll love this place as much as we did.

Her knowledge of Tae Kwon Do goes beyond measure, but her attitude and persistence in her teachings and encouragement is second to none. Although, I consider myself a well-rounded athlete, I have never been pushed both mentally and physically as much as I have here. What I love most about the school is that each instructor has learned under Master Kim and developed his or her own unique way of leading a class. The school not only challenges me physically and mentally, but it is fulfilling in a cultural, social, and therapeutic way. I highly recommend this school to any ages and all levels!

Sensei Ramon Veras and his team are extremely experienced, encouraging, and treat every student with respect. TKC teaches traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu karate which is very difficult to find. I feel fortunate that TKC and Sensei Ramon are so great at what they do and that they are so close to where I live. I trained in a different martial arts style some years ago but my experience at Traditional Karate Center has been so much better. Sensei Ramon truly puts quality first. He wants every student to really learn and understand what they are doing. Students advance only when they are ready and when they show proficiency in their skills. As a result, each time you advance a belt level a true sense of accomplishment is felt, because you met the high standards that were set. If you want to learn real Okinawan martial arts and truly apply what you are taught, you can't do better than Traditional Karate Center.
