This place ranks top of my list in terms of - clean facility - family safe - quality instruction - professionalism I found Morumbi during the worst part of Covid. My business was at risk of closing, my family was splitting apart, and my training was lacking big time. Basically, I was struggling in just about every way you can imagine. The instructors and training partners at Morumbi have added so much positivity and inspiration to my life. Since day one, I've seen nothing but respect and quality jiu jitsu. Once you sign up, don't expect much understanding or flexibility if your circumstances change. In my experience, even after leaving the state/country and no longer being anywhere near the gym, they were still determined to hold me to the membership contract and continue collecting payments. The way this was handled completely changed my opinion of this business. Jiu-Jitsu is supposed to teach discipline, integrity, respect, accountability, and doing the right thing. Unfortunately, those values did not match what I experienced as a customer. It felt like the membership contract and collecting money mattered more than treating a customer fairly. There is a big difference between running a legitimate business and hiding behind a contract to squeeze money out of someone who can no longer even use your facility. If this is how you treat your customers, don't be surprised when people leave negative reviews and warn others. I would not recommend this gym. If you're thinking about joining, be extremely careful about what you're signing and how difficult it may be to get out of the membership. Based on my experience, there are plenty of other places I would rather spend my money.

The instructor, who was a woman, Miss Daisy, was a black belt and the daughter of Master Nunez, who opened this establishment. She did a fantastic job! She was very nice, instructed the children very well, was engaging and she was also very understanding. She had the perfect balance of everything it takes to keep this kids in check. My nephew learned a lot and very quickly. She did not overwhelm the newbies, like my nephew and he looks forward to his next class. The studio is right in Downtown Oxnard on A street. It's about $80 a month, for 3 classes a week, 12 classes a month, which breaks down to less than $7/class. It is well worth the money. There is parking in the front and the back of the studio. Parents and family are welcome to stay and watch. There are chairs in the front where the kids could be watched, but it does get hot in the studio as the windows are facing the sun as the sun begins to set so there is full sun at 5 pm. Bring water! They also sell water and snacks in the studios for those that need it. I will update my review as time goes on. I look forward to seeing how my nephew progresses in these classes!

I am now back and it is just as amazing as it was when I left. I was welcomed back after being gone for 6 years and the patience that has been shown to me is neverending. I have to relearn so much. I wish more adults would join. It is an amazing place to teach kids honor, courtesy, perseverance and self control but it is just as good at teaching adults these things. And bonus, if you have a child enrolled it's only a few bucks more a month to add an adult membership. Every single instructor is fantastic and I highly recommend trying it out.
