I made three visits and each time had to give up after waiting two hours. Its ridiculous. They earn their terrible reputation every day!

Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles - Copy of receipt received for paid registration on 06/21/19, I just noticed the dumb asses are using the wrong year.

Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles

Once again the dumb asses at the Kansas DMV messed up my vehicle registration renewals. And once…read moreagain they try to make it all my fault. Went on line and registered 3 cars a truck and a motorcycle weeks before they expired. Got the cycle tag but not the cars or truck. Called them several times and they kept saying it is in the mail. Now it's July and everything except the bike has expired. Called DMV and the revenue offices in Topeka and got the run around and was told the call Sedgewick co and got the run around from them. They said it was not in their shitty computer, although I have a printed receipt and the money has been charged to my credit card. They said I have to take it up with s third party contractor as they said they have no control over the contract. My receipt says Kansas DMV on it and I now have to take time off work and go down their and pay twice. I have contacted the Kansas adept of Revenue Chief Counsel Mr. Clouser (spelling unsure) for a refund or the proper procedure for a lawsuit filing. 8 different phone calls or forwarding and the clerk at Clousers office wanted me to explain the whole mess to her. Kansas state employees never admit when they mess up and I hate to sue the state for their incompetence or thief of services because it may harm my children's school money or paving the thousands of potholes in the state, but enough is enough. I talked to an attorney and he wants to see my paid receipt and listen to the many taped recordings I have had with state employees. He is confident that the state will refund my money for having to pay twice, all phone related bills, loss of pay from work and any stress/emotional losses the state has provided. Oh not to mention all attorney fees incurred buy the states incompetence. Mr. Clouser will show up to the trial, since he will be listed as a witness that was informed by his clerk of the states errors, and his failure to respond. Update-got a refund. But they are still lazy pecker heads. I see why I hAve never herd of anybody that works at the KS DMV in public, I guess they do not want to get charged double, harassed or humiliated by the public.

I think some people are STILL waiting. But Wichita ends up being one of those places that grows on you the longer you stay. The city is the county seat of Sedgwick County and has been since the county was formed in 1867, and the city's history is a mix of frontier trading post, cattle-drive boomtown, and later aviation powerhouse once companies like Cessna, Beech and Learjet turned it into the "Air Capital of the World." A few noteworthy things have happened here, from the founding of Pizza Hut by two Wichita State students to the city's role in early aircraft manufacturing, and even the tragic 1970 Wichita State football team plane crash that still shapes local memory. Today, it's a spread out, friendly, art-heavy city where you can wander from murals to museums to riverside parks, and even though the street grid can feel like it's actively trying to confuse you, the place does seem to have a way of making you feel welcome.
