I frequently travel in the Berkshires alone and crash with friends. Recently, however, I was traveling with a companion and so decided to look into booking a room somewhere. As anyone who has traveled in this area during the summer knows, even the flea-baggiest of motels might easily run you upwards of $100 per night. During our search, my companion discovered the Stockbridge Room on Craigslist. The room is as-advertised: fairly small with enough room for the bed, nightstand, small TV and chair. There is a closet, a small hallway with a fridge, microwave, toaster-oven and some dishes, and a bathroom. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Stuart, the gentleman who runs things (and lives in the adjoining house) was very nice and seemed happy to help us with anything we might need. The surrounding property is beautiful. The bottom line is that I would highly recommend the Stockbridge Room to anyone looking for an inexpensive room in the Berkshires and who isn't concerned with the bells and whistles of a standard B&B.

Anything I could want was there: bathroom supplies, towels, strong wifi, kitchenwares. There were even little details that took the experience above and beyond, like a list of fun activities in the area for the weekend we were there or a really seamless check in experience. Ion did engagement photos first so he could get to know the couple and their style.. The photos were great. The day of the wedding, Ion and his assistant showed up right on time and ready to go. His photographs of this special day were absolutely amazing! Ion didn't miss a moment, and yet he was very unobtrusive and professional. Fast forward to 2017, and my son and daughter in law were getting married. They were so impressed with Ion that they too chose him to document their special day. And had the same outstanding results. These two couples have very different styles, yet Ion captured the essence of both of them perfectly.
