Steven is a GEM, and makes this winery experience one of the best. I came for a friend's bachlorette, and we opted for the tasting and some snacks. Steven is a blast - he is so incredibly kind and funny, keeps the drinks flowing, and gave good vibes! My favorite of the tasting was the sparkling rose - it was so good we ordered 2 additional bottles, and a few more to go. I honestly really liked all of the wines in the tasting. Some noms are available, and they are all plated beautifully. The outdoor seating with the firepits provided a perfectly cozy & rustic atmosphere. The chickens were also a plus!! They are so cute. Highly recommend!
Fantastic vineyard. Beautiful setting, delicious wine, great service and awesome snack plates. We love coming to this vineyard whenever we are at our upstate home.

Have been here a few times and they are always very friendly and chill. On our recent visit around Thanksgiving we grabbed some glasses of wine and relaxed in their heated outdoor patio while enjoying observing all the chickens on the property. The patio is really nicely decorated with blankets and pillows and although it was a little cold at first, we soon as warmed up. I personally prefer their red's but my Mom was very happy with the white wine she tried. Everyone was super nice. They did have a dog inside but it was well behaved. Very clean bathroom!

From what it looks like, this is a nice, small- scale winery in Ghent. They offer 5 wine samplings for $8 and menu is divided by Whites, Reds, Rosé and Dessert Wines- (can double some if you like). Hudson-Chatham Winery has more than enough outdoor space to enjoy your samplings and charcuterie/cheese boards. Taking COVID into consideration, I'm not sure if you can go behind the scenes and walk through their vineyard- so maybe double-check on that(?). I tried using their wine tasting check-in offer, but I was told, new owners have been trying to remove it. If you're not up for their cheese boards, try the Moondog's Food Truck right on Hudson-Chatham Winery's property which is slightly up the hill by the parking lot. You can grab some bites to have with your wine samplings/purchased bottle then shoot the breeze on one of their patio tables. Manager(?) Cat was a doll, brought her charisma while we were there, was descriptive enough with the taste and grape type and made our afternoon pleasant. You can reserve online, but we just showed up unannounced and it was fine by her. Modest and all, this was worth visiting- especially if you're on this side of town.
I was initially really excited to visit this winery. I was so excited that I wanted to share my enthusiasm with my fellow Yelpers and decided to check in. To my surprise upon checking in I was awarded a free wine-tasting. I was so happy! I showed my phone to the guy who greeted us and things got weird and uncomfortable real quick. He said "Awe man! That's not supposed to be on Yelp anymore." I responded, "Well, it is...so should I just click this reedem button here?" He then said, "Yea, I guess but its not supposed to be up there." Then he just stood there and starred at me, making it seem like he wasn't going to honor the Yelp deal for the wine-tasting. So I just flat out broke the awkward silence and staring contest by asking him if he was going to honor the check-in deal that is posted on Yelp or not. He reluctantly responded with, "I guess...yea, I'll honor it. But its not supposed to be on there." He then gave us our cups, poured a white-wine, told us that they bought the winery 2 years ago and didn't like anything that the previous owner grew so they ordered the wines from other vinyards and made the wines on-site themselves. They claimed to be proud about the wine that they served. I feel like they crossed these wines with Kambucha. They all tasted like vinegar...except the orange one, which tasted like straight up gross medicine. When I took the first sip, I got a wave of nausea that hit me. I have never had that happen to me before. I even went to my car to get a bottle of water to try and get rid of the taste from my mouth (no they didn't offer us any water, bites to pair with the drinks....absolutely nothing.) After taking a sip of each drink in hopes of the next one being better than the last, we had to sneak and toss the wine in the grass. Each wine was just so horrible. Their description of the wine as they poured it made it sound so delicious and promising, but the taste was extremely vinegary. If they had given a bottle away for free, I would not have taken it. Other than the horrible tasting wine, the location was pretty cute. They had nice outside seating with a fire pit that a group seemed to be enjoying. If you want a nice place to hang put and chill, this place is a good option for comfy outdoor seating, just make sure to bring your own bottle of wine.
6 tastings for $25 as per the website it was supposed to come with snacks but they never came for us nor the other groups. We do know the kitchen was working as food was brought out to individuals who ordered by the glass. Once we started we were given a large menu of wines and were unsure if we were able to pick our own that we wanted to try but soon learned they were preselected. There were 3 different people pouring for us and other groups, some pours were heavier or lighter than others depending on who was pouring. The Blanc de Blanc was very tasty. Reservations are needed for the tasting but I was unable to make an outdoor lawn reservation on the desktop and had to use my phone to reserve outdoors. The website does not allow same day reservations. There are tons of free roaming chickens on the property which were entertaining to watch. Lots of outdoor seating with firepits to allow for outdoors even when it gets colder and pretty views.
We stopped in to enjoy the Chatam sights and tasty wines. We met the owner and learned about the operations while trading friendly banter about the beautiful day, sun shiny 68 degrees and delicious wine. We sat in the Adirondack chairs facing the sun together as much vitamin D as possible while listening to relaxing tunes and enjoying a nice glass of wine. It was the perfect afternoon activity and fun. I recommend and will return.
Had an amazing time at the winery. Place was very clean and really pretty. Loved the atmosphere. We did the wine tasting and the wines were delicious and great servings as well. We ordered the mini cheese plate and really recommend getting the cheddar tomato basil, so good! We ended up staying a little longer because they had live music, So we ordered the bigger cheese and meats plates (you won't be disappointed with this one). Owner was friendly and accommodating. Outdoor space had chairs and tables and blankets as well. If y oh are looking for a nice place to go and relax and sip good wine definitely stop by here
While staying in Hudson, my wife found this winery and so we went out for a couple of hours. The property is really nice. You can sit outside as they have fire pits. When we went it was a bit chilly but the fireplace and blankets they supplied kept my wife warm. Staff are very nice and attentive. We enjoyed our time here. They have borne wine and some local beers to order from. Would highly recommend!
We were visiting my friend in NY and stopped here on our way home. It was lovely! Although it was too cold to sit outside (even with a nice fire) we did our tasting indoors. Due to COVID we weren't allowed to sit in their gorgeous and modern tasting room, but we were able to sit indoors where it was warm and that mattered the most. They have a few different wines that I never heard of before, as well as some ports too. I highly suggest tasting these since they were our favorite. What a beautiful winery and It must be so busy with the warmer temps. I hope to come back soon in the summertime. I highly suggest stopping in.

I stopped today for the first time. The customer service is great. Very cheerful, friendly and professional. He let me try a few bottles to taste. I really wanted to like them all but most were not my taste. However I got one sweet rose bottle for my sister who only drinks Riesling. I am 100% sure she will enjoy it. Overall I am glad that i stopped by there. read more

On our lazy Saturday drive to Chatham, NY we stopped at the best winery . The history and love of the owners is felt as soon as you come inside. We were fretted and menu explained. They have tastings and bar drinks- gin tonics, Moscow mules and other tasty options. They also have a variety of small plate- elevated plates made con amor. The grounds are exactly what you want at a winery, variety of areas to sit, in the sun the shade, tent sets. The tasting was good, variety of whites, rose, orange wine -'d light reds. I will come back because we have to support places like this!! read more
4.25 Did not expect this place to be the place to hang out, but it definitely seemed that way. The property isn't huge, but there are several gathering areas: in front, inside the tasting room, and a smaller section on the other side. The tasting room is clean and chic, and the staff were all smiles--engaging in light conversation and explaining the wines and offerings well. Whether you like dry or sweet white wine, they've got you covered. The Hortencia is a nice, crisp white, while the Traminette is sweet and smooth. The great thing is that you can even combine the two, and you've got the perfect summer white wine blend. read more

Came for the Sangria and wine tasting. Was not impressed with the sangrias. The wine selection, on the other hand, was very good. They did well taking a rainy day and making it as comfortable as possible. Setting up umbrellas and chairs for patrons to use. There weren't many vendors, I suspect the rain kept them away, but the ones there were wonderful. Delicious Korean wings. Hopefully next year the weather will be better, and there will more food vendors!! I will certainly come back next year! read more

I came with two friends and had an amazing wine experience. Steven was super knowledgeable, sweet, helpful, friendly and provided amazing customer service. I highly recommend going. They have great wines with character along with good cheeses, meats and jams. Additionally, it is a place where people of color can experience a winery from an owner who understands that experience and happens to be from a Dominican background. read more

This place is a gem. Stopped in the first day of our weekend getaway and made a point to come back later on. Ambience is excellent, service made you feel welcomed, and wine was good, really enjoyed the la loma. Stephen is absolutely fabulous! The service here is top notch. It was a rainy Memorial Day weekend and they did us a solid and snuck us in to the opening Sunday appt at noon. We were in for a treat. I'm a huge wine-o. I've gone tasting numerous times throughout Europe, done dozens of trips to Napa and Sonoma, ventured to the heart of Mexican wine country in Valle de Guadalupe, and even spent time in New Zealand's Central Otaga region. I've always found New York wines pretty underwhelming, but HCW really surprised me! Lots of varietals but they have a handful of really strong contenders that you should add into your wine mix. Big fan of the Castel and Block Two reds which surprisingly got added to my collection at home since NY reds tend to not do it for me, but these were really great. The Blanc de Blanc sparkling was excellent and a perfect summer bottle to have on hand. The rose and newly bottled whites also are great porch sippers for the upcoming season. We enjoyed a lovely cheese board they prepared up for us alongside our tasting flight + the many glasses we enjoyed following our tasting favs. I'm going to come back in September and already thinking about what else I'll buy then to stock my house with after this visit. Such a lovely place with amazing owners who are doing the damn thing. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the Hudson Valley. This unique property is a gem and the staff and owners are phenomenally inviting and accommodating . The wine tasting was excellent and definitely worth the price. Go for the outdoor fireplaces and views and you'll stay for the wine and charcuterie ! 10/10 recommend! read more
Make sure you wear your winter boots because there is no marked or shoveled path to enter the building. There was no functioning restroom the day of our visit which was inconvenient. The tasting room had a chic minimal decor with rich wood, sunlight, and hip music. We were the first reservation for the day so we took our time deciding on flights. I focused on reds but I did try the new world Seyval Blanc and the Ghent Blush. I would recommend the Block 22 and I purchased a bottle. After experiencing wine tastings in multiple states and countries, it is worth noting this wineries prices are inflated. A flight of five wines cost $15 and the pour is one ounce. The food options were highly limited despite the governor's mandate to order food when consuming alcohol effective June 2020. We purchased prepackaged crisps and store bought hummus for $17 and we were not given plates. Taking the quality of the wine, food and affordability into account I do not see myself making the journey to this winery again. read more

Let me first start off by saying this is my first time at the Hudson Chatham winery. It was for a friend's 30th birthday. It just so happened to storm very heavily this day ... but service never disappointed. Myself and three other friends had the best . It exceeded other farm friendly wine environments in the area ( cough* cough* ) LOVE LOVE LOVE IT HERE ! Will be back!!! Rain or shine!!!!! read more

Wonderful staff and delicious wine!! I thought my favorite was the Pino Noir but then I tried 3 Baco Noirs and WOW!! I think my favorite might be the Baco Noir Middlehope but they were all so good. (I got one of each to take home because they really were that good). We enjoyed a nice bottle of their heirloom red before we left (it was the perfect light bodied red blend). It was such a gorgeous day and the view of the vineyard made it truly picture perfect. read more
Enjoyed our wine in this cute little tasting room! Though small, there's a lot here and you can easily spend an afternoon. Red, white, dessert, sparkling, spirits... all represented. There is a small fridge on-site with some small snacks (cheese, local cold brew, etc.) in case you need to coat your belly or pair with a bottle. Tastings run $7 and let you choose 5 wines/spirits from their menu. They're knowledgable about the product and let you take your time after the pour. Plenty of varieties are made here or locally around the area with baco noir (thick grape skins survive the weather) being one of the most prominent in their selection. Like one? Take it home. At $10-$24 a bottle, it's not breaking the bank. We came home with a Merlot Reserve and a bottle of bubbly. Great way to spend an afternoon while in the area! Their bathroom was closed so they gave us free tastings! What kind of great service is that? Also get the cookies they were amazing haha but seriously they made the wine even better. Whoever the woman was that was our host was fantastic. We had a great time with some great wine! read more

What an amazing find in Hudson! A quaint winery under new ownership. The two owners were incredibly friendly and hospitable to our huge group of 17. They have a wide selection of wines, with a tasting of 5 for only $10. Definitely a much recommended stop!! read more

This place is a must when you're in Ghent or the nearby area. The wines are delicious and the grounds are relaxing. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I'd be happy to stop back the next time I'm in town and recommend it to others. read more
