    I had an extremely frustrating experience handling a total loss claim with Liberty Mutual/Safeco…read moreand will not be continuing with this company after this claim is closed. The biggest issue throughout this process was communication, lack of transparency, and lack of attention to detail. I repeatedly informed my adjuster via email that I was surrendering my totaled vehicle to Liberty Mutual. The tow company had already picked up the vehicle, yet the payment portal still incorrectly reflected the LOWER "owner retained" payout amount, deducting over $4,000 in salvage value as if I were keeping the vehicle. I had to personally review the settlement documents myself, identify the discrepancy, and continue following up to get answers. At no point was the situation clearly explained until after multiple emails and unnecessary stress on my end. I was also disappointed in the valuation process itself. The comparable vehicles Liberty Mutual initially used did not accurately reflect my vehicle, and I provided additional comparable vehicles that made far more sense based on mileage, condition, and market value. Despite providing this information, the company refused to meaningfully reconsider the valuation. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have been a loyal customer with Liberty Mutual/Safeco, carrying not only auto insurance but also homeowners insurance through them. After years of paying premiums and trusting this company, I expected far better communication, customer service, and claim handling during a stressful situation. Losing a vehicle unexpectedly is already difficult enough. Instead of making the process easier, Liberty Mutual added confusion, poor communication, unnecessary delays, and extra frustration during nearly every step of the claim. While the issue was eventually clarified, customers should not have to repeatedly correct claim information or chase down explanations for major payment discrepancies. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Liberty Mutual/Safeco for claim handling.

They fought my neighbor nearly a year till they paid him for his retaining wall and I couldn't put my fence up till the wall was complete now they are doing the same with me on the fence and damage to my yard. Stay away from them terrible shady company.

    All was well with Allstate since 2008 until I had to make a claim for hail damage in 2017…read more Allstate sent a check based on the original estimate, but the original estimate did not have an amount listed for crate and freight of parts . When additional minor damage was estimated and submitted they said it now exceeded the actual cost value and it was a total loss. After speaking with the total loss department they agreed to not repairing the additional minor damage and reissued another check for the same amount as the first one that they cancelled. In short, any additional supplements were denied, including the freight for the parts that were notated on the original estimate. The reason they said they were denied was because the payout had already exceeded the actual cash value of the vehicle. If that was the case, why wasn't it deemed a total loss in the first place? When I asked that question to their total loss department they said "well that was somehow missed" or something to that effect. So now here I am with a partial repaired vehicle and left holding the bag for the remaining over $1,400 to complete the repair. I would not recommend getting Allstate, because if you happen to have a claim and they make a mistake (and willingly admitted to the fact that they made an error) you the insurer will be responsible for any additional repair costs. You COULD ignore this review and roll the dice with Allstate if you think you may not ever have a claim. If you think you're in good hands, you might find that you are not!
