Disappointing experience -- unresolved workmanship issue
Taggs Remodeling installed a new shower for us a few months ago. I want to be fair and say that the shower tile itself came out great. Unfortunately, there is a significant issue with the shower curb that still has not been resolved.
After the installation, the glass company identified that the shower curb was pitched in the wrong direction. Instead of directing water back into the shower, the curb pitches outward, which means water hitting the shower glass can run outside the shower. Because of this issue, the glass company will not install the shower glass until the curb is properly repaired.
I spoke with George at Taggs about the problem and we agreed on a date for him to come back and make the repair. I took the day off from work specifically for the appointment, but Taggs was a no-call, no-show. After several calls, I eventually reached George, who told me he would call to reschedule.
That was two months ago. Since then, I have made several phone calls, left voicemails, and sent text messages, but I have received no response.
I paid approximately $15,000 for this project, and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the contractor to stand behind the work and correct a workmanship issue when it is brought to their attention.
At this point, I am pursuing the matter through small claims court so I can have another contractor make the necessary repair.
Again, the tile work looked good, which is why I initially would have been willing to recommend Taggs. However, the lack of communication and failure to address a problem with the installation has completely changed my opinion.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Taggs Remodeling. read more
