From the Raley's parking lot, if you look opposite Raley's, you'll see the colorful wind devices rotating at the entry, which match the patina Wind Sculptures art installation near it Inside, this nicely decorated shop is a combination Artifacts, Gift, Jewelry, Art, Curio, Metaphysical shop, owned by Susan, the silver haired proprietor with her sweet poodle Tula, who may greet you at the door quietly, looking for a nice calm hand to pet her, and welcome you in. Susan has a sister store in the Carson Mall in Carson City, NV called Crimson Moon, which may be a little more New Age/Metaphysics focused. Metaphysical items are here, too, which got my attention, because she had 2 Tarot decks I own myself personally, for sale. The first is the Voyager Deck, by James Wanless, that I learned Tarot on 30 years ago. The other also visually stunning deck is the newer Starman Tarot, based on rock music legend David Bowie, and the art pieces created by his good friend and artist David de Angelis. If you are ever in South Lake Tahoe in the summertime, drop in and say hello to Susan and Tula. She retreats back to Georgia in the snow months, however, and she may retire soon, so hurry!

I called them up to put together some gift baskets for me and they mailed them to me on time and everything was well packaged and safe. Think of it as an art gallery mixed with a modern gift shop, filled with thoughtfully curated home décor, unique keepsakes, and Tahoe-inspired finds. We were welcomed as we walked in, which was a nice touch considering how busy the store was. The candles are always my favorite, and I make it a point to check out their beautiful wood-carved Lake Tahoe maps and canvas artwork every year. They have a great selection of pieces that can add a little Tahoe charm and sophistication to your home. Everything feels intentionally selected, and despite fitting so much into the space, the store never feels cluttered or overwhelming. One of my favorite surprises this visit was their expanded hat selection. They had trendy designs, Smokey Bear hats, and national park-inspired apparel that stood out from the typical souvenir shop offerings. It felt like they had something for just about everyone while still staying true to the Tahoe vibe. I'll definitely be back for another candle, sticker, or hat. And one of these days, when the budget and wall space allow, I may finally bring home one of those wood-carved maps. They have everything from t-shirts, license plate frames, beer mugs and drinking glasses, refrigerator magnets and a plethora of ornaments. Just about any item you want to purchase as a memento or give as a gift, and absolutely nothing you really need. I like this shop because it is conveniently located on the South Lake Tahoe Marina, which is conducive paddle boating, boat rides, playing volleyball (in the summer) and one of the best beaches along the lake. The same plaza has a couple of popular restaurants, a beer pub and other shops as well. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes. The plaza is also across the street from a Whole Foods Market and more eateries.
