From the Raley's parking lot, if you look opposite Raley's, you'll see the colorful wind devices rotating at the entry, which match the patina Wind Sculptures art installation near it Inside, this nicely decorated shop is a combination Artifacts, Gift, Jewelry, Art, Curio, Metaphysical shop, owned by Susan, the silver haired proprietor with her sweet poodle Tula, who may greet you at the door quietly, looking for a nice calm hand to pet her, and welcome you in. Susan has a sister store in the Carson Mall in Carson City, NV called Crimson Moon, which may be a little more New Age/Metaphysics focused. Metaphysical items are here, too, which got my attention, because she had 2 Tarot decks I own myself personally, for sale. The first is the Voyager Deck, by James Wanless, that I learned Tarot on 30 years ago. The other also visually stunning deck is the newer Starman Tarot, based on rock music legend David Bowie, and the art pieces created by his good friend and artist David de Angelis. If you are ever in South Lake Tahoe in the summertime, drop in and say hello to Susan and Tula. She retreats back to Georgia in the snow months, however, and she may retire soon, so hurry!

A wedding gift I purchased for my husband as we got married in Tahoe. It hangs in our dining room and our guests love it. It's so unique. We should have gotten it with a gloss from, but that wasn't offered for this one. Or at least it wasn't on display and on checkout they didn't offer it. If they had I would have gotten the upgrade. The nice thing is they mailed it to us and it beat us home by a day unharmed. We also love Base Camp pizza Company. We've eaten here twice. Yesterday we sat outside and got a good table directly in front of the live music. Fantastic seating and great music. Always remember to tip your musicians. Last time we were here I bought a pair of socks at the sock shop. They are adorable. They have mini skiers skiing down a slope. All the shops are fantastic. There is something for everyone.

I called them up to put together some gift baskets for me and they mailed them to me on time and everything was well packaged and safe. They even included these cute little Lake Tahoe gift tags for convenience. I totally appreciate everything teachers do, but planning for Mother's Day and teacher appreciation all in the same week does make it hard for us busy mamas. I would have totally jumped on it as the delicate map wouldn't collect dust like it does now. They had a tahoe girl sweater that caught my eye this time. I loved the softness of it and the white color. What was a turn off was the length it was just too short. In the winter I don't want my tummy hanging out. I want to keep it nice and warm with the rest of me. They also have a nice selection of soaps that always catch my eye. I love homemade soaps and these look locally made. One day I'll cough of the money for a bar or two. I was going to get one for my gf as a gift, but I don't know if she loves soaps as much as i do or if she just goes for the soft soap on a bottle. Think of it as an art gallery mixed with a modern gift shop, filled with thoughtfully curated home décor, unique keepsakes, and Tahoe-inspired finds. We were welcomed as we walked in, which was a nice touch considering how busy the store was. The candles are always my favorite, and I make it a point to check out their beautiful wood-carved Lake Tahoe maps and canvas artwork every year. They have a great selection of pieces that can add a little Tahoe charm and sophistication to your home. Everything feels intentionally selected, and despite fitting so much into the space, the store never feels cluttered or overwhelming. One of my favorite surprises this visit was their expanded hat selection. They had trendy designs, Smokey Bear hats, and national park-inspired apparel that stood out from the typical souvenir shop offerings. It felt like they had something for just about everyone while still staying true to the Tahoe vibe. I'll definitely be back for another candle, sticker, or hat. And one of these days, when the budget and wall space allow, I may finally bring home one of those wood-carved maps. I was so sad to see the store was no longer there yesterday so I called, got a recording, then sent a message via Facebook and received the sad message that the shop closed due to Covid. This has been such a devastating time for small businesses and people losing their jobs. I hope La Belle Maison can reopen in the future. I will be thrilled to support them again!

Just about any item you want to purchase as a memento or give as a gift, and absolutely nothing you really need. I like this shop because it is conveniently located on the South Lake Tahoe Marina, which is conducive paddle boating, boat rides, playing volleyball (in the summer) and one of the best beaches along the lake. The same plaza has a couple of popular restaurants, a beer pub and other shops as well. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes. The plaza is also across the street from a Whole Foods Market and more eateries.
