This is an excellent place to study Tai Chi. The atmosphere is open and friendly. The teachers are direct lineage certified in 37 Posture Yang Short Form. read more

I'm loving the Tai Chi Center of Fresno! The instructors are terrific, extraordinarily knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and encouraging. Teaching is a skill that does not always go hand-in-hand with expertise, but these folks have those skills as well: really excellent instruction tailored to the needs and progress of the individual student. And it's all done with good humor and lots of positivity. The classes I've experienced this past year are of very manageable size and my classmates are uniformly friendly and encouraging of one another. This has been a great experience plus I'm slowly getting stronger. Highly recommended! read more

I really enjoy the classes at the Tai Chi Center of Fresno. The instructors are very knowledgeable, dedicated and generous with their time and knowledge. They recognize the benefits and wonders of Tai Chi and are committed to continue their personal Tai Chi journeys and sharing their knowledge with the students. The environment at The Tai Chi Center is friendly and fun and peaceful. Tai Chi does take time and dedicated practice, but the rewards can be felt immediately. I am grateful for all the changes that are happening in my body and with my health and well-being since I started learning Tai Chi and it has truly been life changing for the better. I've been taking classes at the Tai Chi center of Fresno for over a year now and I must say the Instructors are great. I recommend it for anyone looking to become more body aware or who need help with chronic pain issues. It's also a great introduction to martial arts without any intimidation. read more

History

Established in 1975.

First established by Dr. Wang, who brought his famous teachers, Ching Man-ching, Tai Chi to Fresno in 1975. The Tai Chi Center of Fresno continues the tradition established by Dr. Wang.

The Tai Chi Center of Fresno is dedicated to preserving and teaching the art of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, in both theory and practice, for physical well-being and martial skill. The bus picks up the kids at the Cheviot Hills Rec Center. Then you do not see nor speak with them until they return. The only correspondence permitted is via email or USPost. They also post daily picks of the kids at play to the web site. Twas a great way to help build a kid's sense of independence. That was my motivation to send mine here. We're both happy. I only had marbles and a fishing pole when I was in camp! (lol) *** Gold Arrow is pricey but it is a great way to cut the cord. ***

I came to this school for many years before I moved away. Everything I learned at this school about tai chi chuan has followed me to this day and affects my daily life. I walk down the street and realize I'm practicing one of the principles taught at the tai chi center. The instructors are great fun and great at teaching. Between them and the senior students that come back year after year, there's at least a 100 years of collective experience in that one room. It honestly feels like a second family. read more
