Something very strange is happenning at this center. They keep telling me my protein levels are…read morelow when I know for a fact they are not, have even had it tested at a doctor and another center just to be sure. I made sure to eat plenty of protein and protein shakes aplenty for 4 days before donating and they will still say the same thing. Ever since they changed where they get plasma samples tested, it takes about 10 days meaning the samples have to be shipped and frozen for a long period of time. If ANY of the employees fail to refrigerate properly or quickly enough this affects the protein levels. It just doesnt add up. Also, 10 days to get tested? Come on.. Your costing yourselves money there Octapharma.. Also they need to hire more technicians to cut down on wait time, Being made to wait in line and THEN sitting waiting for more than an hour is ridiculous. The new beds are very uncomfortable as well, go back to the old ones. Its like the beds are designed to cause extreme lower back pain it makes no sense.

Once your logged in your committed; your choice is to wait for over three hours or lose out on your donation. Poor management.

All the workers have gone to lunch and the ones left are dragging their feet - chit chatting while 30 of us sit and wait. Mr Horne doesn't seem to notice anything. He's busy but working on his own stuff and just ignores the complaints - along with everyone else.

Also they are RUDE to donors they have made me cry twice. I told management about it and nothing was done. Instead when I came back to donate again the lady was even more pissed. They are to happy to ask for help when it comes to sticking people. I was stuck twice by the same gal plus the she kept readjusting knowing she was causing to much pain. I come in with, at minimum, a 2 and a half hour pocket of time to donate here before work. Today, it was a little busy but there were definitely open machines with techs operating the sections they were in. However, it still took an entire hour before I was seated. Further, once I was seated I sat for 20 more minutes and watched 3 donors seated after me get hooked up to their machines to begin donating! Since I only had 2 hours this time, due to having a Dr's appointment, I actually had to leave right when a tech finally got to me. (At that point, I only had 30 minutes to kill and it takes me 34 minutes to donate. That's IF the tech sticks me correctly.) I was so aggravated, as I totally could've stayed in the bed asleep those 2 hours I wasted waiting and not even getting to donate. I do like this place. Just, the ridiculous wait times are, well, ridiculous! Maybe better working conditions and benefits wouldn't have techs quitting so often?

I have been coming here (10thAveN,in MB) for several months and everything was fine-I had no…read morecomplaints AT FIRST. Then the rude white chick (with the long dark hair) at the front (who's NOT a good communicator) started giving me problems about my mailing address. I was told to bring ''a piece of mail" proving my address. When I did, she said it wasn't the correct piece of mail-it didn't have a postage stamp and it wasn't a bill, so I was turned away for the 4/5th time. (Not my fault the PO didn't put that on there.) Thing is, all my bills are included in my rent, so none of them are in my name. I live in Murrells Inlet & It takes me about 15 miles/1 gallon of gas (1way) for me to get there, so to be turned away all those times that's a LOT of gas (which isn't free) and a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on my 21yo vehicle. Not to mention, it's very frustrating to know I've wasted my my time. I don't understand why after all this time (w/ no problems) now my address has become a problem. It has nothing to do with my blood. The fact that I hardly ever drink alcohol/take prescription meds and I don't do drugs + I'm willing to donate should be the main factors. I took my landlord in there one time and they wouldn't even let her donate because of her age, so my ? is, how is this place staying in business if they're turning so many people (who r willing to donate) away ? The first time I went they said to come back because they didn't have enough staff. The second…read moretime i went, I was waiting and go so cold I went to my car to get my jacket and when i came back they said i would have to come back tomorrow. You're not allowed to go outside. Third time I went my BP was too high. 4th time my iron was too high. 5th time I got in. The second time I went, I encountered an older black lady that gave me quite the attitude. I thought, ok she's having a bad day. She was the same to me 3 more times after that on future days. I think she doesn't like white people. Can't do the QR code more than 5 minutes prior. The first few times no appointment required. Then they required it. Nobody told me. No sign either. Their hours were wrong on Google. I never got out in less than 2.5 hours on any visit. 3.5 hours one time. I went 12 times. The last time I went, I took my BP before I went and it read normal. They took my BP and it read way higher. They said to wait 10 minutes. I sat down, took my BP pill and they HAD TO TAKE IT 10 MINUTES ON THE DOT. They wouldn't let my pill take effect. A ridgid and stupid rule. It read high again so I left. I decided I wasn't going back. I went to Parachute on Slappey in Albany and they are much more easy going and friendly. AND FASTER. Takes about 1.5 hours. The pay seems to be about the same.
