It's an AYCE buffet with churrascaria and the set price is R$268 (~$50 USD) plus 13% service charge. It includes the salad bar with vegetables, salads, soup, seafood, sushi, and churrascaria (meat, seafood, sides). The best options for the churrascaria were the ribeye steak, salmon with passion fruit sauce, and the lamb. I did appreciate that if you request a churrascaria item, they do bring it to you. You can also request sauces as well, the chimichurri sauce was good. I think the buffet was good value since you get a large selection of food and the quality was pretty good.

The salad bar was huge and with everything looking so good it was hard not to taste a bit of everything. The service was excellent. The staff was always making sure that I had what I liked. My favorite cut of beef was the skirt steak. It had a great flavor and was very tender. I would return.

This place was nice but if you're a foreigner - I would suggest visiting Churrascaria Palace near Copacabana instead. We loved it so much we went twice during our one week stay in Rio. The service was 100x better, many more cuts of steak coming around, amazing salad bar, and the ambience was just as nice. Also more foreigner friendly. **Knocking four stars off service specifically for the two hostesses up front (Jan 27 '26). Upon entering, they immediately gave each other a weird look making us feel weird, uncomfortable, and not welcome. They looked me up and down and exchanged judgmental looks upon entering and once again as we were leaving after our meal. As a classy restaurant, I expect a warm welcome from a hostess who carries that same classy standard in her demeanor and behavior.

I kept my expectations tempered, as people online said that in the end the best quality meat will not be at a churrascaria, so you're going more for the AYCE experience rather than the actual best cuts of meat. Overall, I had a great time - the restaurant was beautiful even at night (I heard in the day, there's a stunning view of Sugarloaf Mountain). The meats were free flowing - it might have helped that the table was close to the kitchen, so servers would come very quickly. It was pretty much exactly the experience I was looking for. They provide cards so that you can ask which cut of meat it is if it's not clear (and if you can't speak Portuguese). I was able to try a bunch of different cuts until I was fully stuffed. I will say I never requested a specific cut, and have heard that it might take some time if you are just looking for specific items.

Visiting from Miami we felt the trip to Brazil would not be complete without a trip to a steakhouse. Some of the options we actually have back home, so we settled on this one. The steaks are of great quality, cooked perfectly to your specifications and delivered by friendly knowledgeable staff. The sausage sent out before the meal was perhaps my favorite thing, rivaled only by the fried potatoes. The fried potatoes are masterful. It's like they thinly sliced two pieces of potato, stuck them together, and then fried them. So you have two crunchy sides with an air pocket between them. Where have these been all my life??? Don't leave without ordering them. The picanha was as good as we expected. The chorizo is actually a cut of steak here, if he had known Portuguese a bit better we wouldn't have ordered it because we thought it was sausage, but here it's a cut of meat. Delicious anyway. The side of broccoli rice made us feel a bit healthier. Lol.

It's really…read moremore of a steakhouse than a barbecue place, but I wouldn't advise coming here unless you are ready to eat a Fred Flintstone-sized cut of meat. You have the option of going to the counter and picking the cut of meat you want or ordering off the menu and letting them pick for you. I highly recommend ordering from the counter, so you can see what you're in for. I ordered the t-bone steak, and it's the biggest steak I've ever seen in my life that wasn't for two people. I don't even know how I finished a steak that massive. The only thing I'd recommend is that for anyone (like me) who doesn't like anything less than medium, to know what the Portuguese word is for "well done". Medium well got me a medium rare steak. After drinks and sides, our bill came to about R$ 135, which was like $35. Look at the picture of my t-bone (or a picture of my friend's steak which was half of a steak he split with another friend) and tell me where else you can get a brontosaurus steak like that at that price?

Fogo has its service down to a science and seating as well as waiter service is pretty seamless. I was surprised that attentiveness to refilling water and anything other than meat was not up to the standard that I have experienced at other Brazilian steakhouses. The meat itself was plentiful, however, more inconsistent than I would have liked. One serving of Filet Mignon was delicious, flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the next was surprisingly overly cooked (to the point of not being tasty or even chewable). Salad bar is impressive and offerings were fresh and varied. I would have liked a few more protein options in the salad bar (such as fish or shrimp). Overall, a beautiful restaurant - but consistency of food could be improved.

The tres leches was arguably the best I've ever had. And it all turned out to be relatively inexpensive after the currency conversion.

While in Brazil, you learn quickly that the locals love steak and I love steak so figured this would be a fun trip. We decided to come to Carretao which is a rodizio style Brazilian restaurant. You're given a disc which is right on one side and green on the other side as long as the green side is showing the staff will continuously bring different cuts of delicious meats to your table and slice you off some samples. There was an open salad bar, which was loaded with fresh salads and little appetizers, but the main attraction was the never ending Daisy chain of meats. I was in heaven, and I enjoyed every moment of it. My only complaint about this restaurant was that I definitely bought my appetite and after sometime, I noticed that the staff stopped coming to the table with the prime cuts of meat, but would only come with the less desirable cuts this didn't bother me too much because I definitely ate more than my fair share lol. I would absolutely come here again. The price was amazing. The staff was friendly and at the end of dinner we got some delicious dessert shots, which were quite a treat.

As with most other reviews mention, our stop here was for lunch on a day tour that was included in the price of the tour package. Every other group of diners also appeared to have been there in that capacity. Cruzeiro definitely felt almost like a cafeteria, with super white walls, tables, and decor. There is a swimming pool outside, that I am not sure what it's connected to, so that was odd. They did have the normal steakhouse Gauchos walking around with spokes of meats and food, and there were some side items in the middle of each table to share among the diners. Aside from the ambiance not being as upscale as other steakhouses we tried in Rio, the quality of meats also wasn't quite as top notch as the others either. Some were pretty fatty and others were sort of flavorless. I apologize sort of for comparing this to other highly acclaimed Brazilian Steakhouses, but it's hard to be impressed with Cruzeiro do Sol after trying those others. After reading other reviews, it appears that this steakhouse exists solely for the use of tours to offer a "lunch" option as part of the package. I would save your money (about $35 USD if you eat there outside of a tour) and eat elsewhere. Churrascaria Palace was only a tad bit more than that, and the ambiance and service there was ten times higher quality than that of Churrascaria Cruzeiro do Sol.
