When I first made my reservation, I was promised a NEWER unit with a Queen bed, one bedroom. My mistake not getting it in writing. When my husband and I checked in, we received a 2-bedroom small unit with 2 full size beds. IT WAS A TOTALLY DUMP.!!! The tiny screened in sunroom made of cheap OSB with insulation falling from the ceiling. The small deck was old and falling apart. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets had broken handles; light switches did not work. The bathroom shower, if you call it that was no better than a cold spray from a garden hose. I ran the shower for 15 minutes and couldn't get a lukewarm tickle of water at best. This unit costs $700 per night!! Also, when the reservation was made, we requested a guide for our first day of fishing. Checking with Julian, he didn't know what day during our stay a guide would be available. We voiced our concerns and issues to Julian. The uncaring Julian offered no solutions and could care less if we stayed or left. We left after one day. I am so sad and disappointed that these terrible living conditions ruined my dream of fishing in Canada. Lastly, I would definitely not recommend Andy Myers Lodge to anyone, even though John Gillespie's show "Woods and Waters" does.

We have a group of guys that started going to Anglers Kingdom 10 years ago or so. I have enjoyed it…read moreso much that the past couple of years I have gone twice each summer. What makes it so good is that it is like a fly in camp without having to fly in. The river keeps locals out and it works to keep boating traffic and fishermen to a minimum. It is not a 5 star camp as others have said. It has good accommodations; great boats equipped with what you need; and if you choose-good home cooked meals. The lake is a walleye factory. You still have to hunt the fish as they move day to day often. You may get the once in a lifetime frenzy and get 500 a day for 4 people. Usually we are in the 25-50 a day range a piece. In a week 4 or 5 of us will catch. 50 or more 20 inch and above walleye. biggest we have gotten is 29 inches but 30+ inches are taken in numbers every year. This is probably one of the best value trips available for the price. There have been a few bumps in the road the last couple of years. Two fires--one in camp; and one in the forest around camp in consecutive years caused some issues. Bur Kevin and staff did the best they could to keep camp going and not disappoint people who had their vacations planned. Personally, I trust the camp and if I have an issue it is taken care of. sometimes I need to be a little patient as with the fires--it is an outpost camp and to get repairs done is time consuming. Having a little resilience is a good personal trait. I have several friends I have made in camp over the years and there are some who come back for weeks at a time. That is a testimony to how much they love the camp and the fishing. Highly recommended by me
